Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL - LED

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

A lot happened here yesterday and it's interesting to read. I enjoy a good discussion, and since I'm not looking to join a cult anytime soon, I enjoy differences of opinion. Only thing I want to go on the record about is first my respect for Dutty Panty. What he's done not only for me, but for countless growers here.

I agree and hope that Dutty keeps on helping others. It would be a shame if he didn't.

Yeah - where's this stuff hiding? I haven't seen it in my local store! :laughtwo::green_heart:

My Dayquil Sativa is sitting on my desk right next to my Nyquil Indica :thumb:

Sue, keep that nug jar always within arms reach, my friend :rollit: (You're going to love the 420 nug jar, it hasn't left my desk since I got it :) )

I just got mine Antics! WooHoo!!! :laughtwo:

I have two boxes waiting at the post office. There may be more by the time I get there tomorrow. It's like Christmas every day!

I will wear the shirt proudly. See if any of those college students that pass me notice. :laughtwo:

I should be soil building by the weekend. This is such a nice distraction from the medical madness.

I can't wait to pop more seeds. Waiting is the hardest part, eh? :laughtwo::green_heart:

I went out of town for 4 days and there is 17 unread posts on this thread. Good grief this moves fast.

That's 17 PAGES UltraDan. :laughtwo::green_heart:

Yeah, it gets away from me every once in a while and I check in all day long. LOL!

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

wow, what a haul,, and very deserving,, yaay,, great job sue,,

a q please,, the 11/13 flower light hours,, just to clarify,, is that 11 hrs on and 13 off? i ask, because, for no other reason,, it would help with heat control if that were the case,, and i know that heat is going to be a forever issue for me,, least in the summer

you know, i was reading, i think brother420's thread, and he mentioned about heat being an issue ,, in the summer, a sometimes uncontrollable one,, and i had never really thought about it as an unsolvable issue,, for me,, (without getting into cooling which is not happening),,

so i have changed my thinking a bit now,, maybe cutting the flower room production a bit for the summer,, even just the top level, for me, because that is where the most heat is,, maybe just one plant up top, maybe,, new thinking for me anyway,, cheers sue,, yaay :cheertwo:

A wonderful plant to grow CC. I miss our specimen. I still sneak down to raid the one I planted next to the apartment my brother used to live at. It was around the corner from our mother's apartment and mother didn't have anywhere to plant one, so we put it there. I may take a spade down one day this spring and slice off a section to go in the community garden down the street. They already have many yarrow plants going. I'm thinking they also need some mints, some borage, maybe some chamomile...... I can't join this year. Next year Dale will be mobile again.

Consider borage. I may plant one in a pot with cannabis when I expand. They are incredibly beneficial companion plants for all other plant species. Just like yarrow.

So many species, so little time, and speaking personality, not enough knowledge.
Borage for Bees, huh?

Thank you nivek. Yes indeed, that's 11 hours of light and 13 hours of darkness. It's meant to mimic the light of the tropics. I'm running it like that from seed on. This allows me to grow photos with autos and seedlings with full grown beauties. Everyone gets equal treatment and everyone has to adapt to the light. The expectation is stunted growth (in height) but better expression of the terpenes. Stunted growth means more room for additional plants.

Can you take a grow to 11/13 from another schedule without stressing the plants? Mine was from birth, so I know it will be ok. Will you need to wait until you harvest what you have, which has to be close now, yes? I still know so little about this yet. Learning as fast as I can, so if anyone has answers to those questions I would appreciate the lesson.

Going to 11/13 is the same as 12/12 in setup. You veg under your schedule and flip to a flower light schedule.. (veg 24/0, 18/6, GLR, ect) to (flower 12/12, 11/13, ect). My last harvest went from 24/0 to 11/13. The key is getting the start of lights on consistent so they have a consistent day/night schedule. 24/0 veg schedule makes this a non issue.

Agree completely. I used 24/0 and then 12/12 for my indoor grows this winter. For a while, I had the one area in a 36/12 and it worked great for growing larger plants if you have 6 months to finish the cycle. lol

Borage for Bees, huh?

Absolutely Rad. Grows easily, smells delightful, attracts bees and is a companion plant like no other. Borage is to the plants around it what the beaver is to it's neighbors. Weird, but that's always been the way I think of it. The beaver is the kind of neighbor other small animals want around. They work tirelessly to maintain their neighborhood and don't mind squatters in the den during the harsh winter. They are kind and generous neighbors and will adopt lost youngster beavers into the family. Borage creates an almost magical presence in the garden and all the plants around it will be noticeably happier growing there. There's an interaction going on that we don't understand.

And bees love Borage. I used to sit in my garden and just watch them gorging on the nectar. Ours was right next to the edge of the lavender patch. Bees loved my garden. Borage, catnip, lavender, spearmint, peppermint, roses, chamomile, primrose, peony, iris, rudbeckia, ... The list goes on and on. It was a lovely corner. About 100 sq. ft. of bloom.

Now I rock a closet. Isn't life funny? :laughtwo::green_heart:

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

lemon balm for bees too...
they don't do 420..

Lemon balm! That was the one I was trying to remember! :laughtwo:

For a real treat Rad, I suggest sweet woodruff as an edging. The most intoxicating perfume, and you can hang it dry indoors for the winter, squeeze it every time you pass and fill your room with unbelievably refreshing air. It was used in sick rooms.

Violets, lily of the valley, blueberries, mums, thistle for the goldfinches, ... Sometimes I really miss that little slice of paradise, the musicality of the waterfall, the train running over the pond. It was a good life.

One of my prizes was this sample of hulled hemp seeds from Foods Alive. Now this fascinates me. I was skimming some information about them yesterday while researching the nutritional value of cannabis. I need to look closer. These are a power food, what my mother called bulls eye foods. Right off the top of my head I remember the basic list: yams (sweet potatoes too), broccoli, green pepper (richest in Vit C), eggs (perfect protein), Swiss Cheese (the good stuff, of course). We weren't privy to information about cannabis. It should be on that list too.

I've always thought of cannabis in relation to getting high. Thinking if it in medicinal terms has been an eye opener and I need to study much more the ways to counteract anxiety, for example, without getting her high. nhteatime had mentioned making tea from leaves, so I need to at least try that. I wonder if they should be dried, like regular tea leaves are. Hmmmmm. So much to learn.

Edit: I just realized that I have a batch of dried leaves that never made it into the worm bin. I can try those.
