When did they start with tee shirts?
I'm not sure.

Sue,

You crack me up, the Good Sweet Sue. Your hours into journals, like a good grower, and I am hours into a stock market model that holds 1.6 gigs of data that tracks 4000+ stocks by 38 daily factors through time.

I just got an embedded feature of the model to work and finally display the data in a view I can easily assimilate, Even "Rainman" needs some math visualization help.

Tonight was the night it works now, and why it didn't/does works makes sense. I am giggling like a kid, staring at one row of data after another. The odd thing, it ALL makes sense now.

Congratulations on solving the puzzle !

Damn I wanted to post something very similar but like I said Ill enjoy from the shadows

You are a good man rad

 You're always welcome here Dutty. We've learned so much from you.

:rofl::rofl:Talking about puzzle solving, I was just going back over the "wearing my shirt out" scenario with Sue & I. I'm literally in tears over here laughing! That was nearly as good as the original "Who's on first, What's on second" routine. I honestly thought she was talking about not tucking in my shirt.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Goodnight all.

Daily Update: Dark Devil Auto - Day 17

I think she's figured this growing thing out now.

image22877.jpg

I hate being so rushed to get out of the house every morning. The lights are off by the time I get home in the late evening, so I only have this small window of opportunity to sit and lavish attention on her. Today I only had time for a 1/4 turn, two quick pictures and a passing "you look so beautiful this morning". She has her living mulch companions to keep her company. I am completely enamored by the forest floor appearance of this pot. (Contented sigh)

She's not as delicate as she appears. Some nice node spacing already going on. I need to be consistent from now on about that 1/4 daily turn.

image22878.jpg

Lovely little thing. How DO they grab your heart strings so quickly?

There were almost no flying gnats today. I did not expect that to happen so quickly. I even wiggled my finger tips through the mulch and only two or three took flight. What magic is this Doc Bud? Getting excited here about the implications!

I left the SWICK alone again today. Testing a bit. Starting that SWICK thread has me feeling more secure about it than I was before, and I was pretty confident about its effectiveness. I'll top it off tomorrow. If the Devil were larger I would, and will, top off daily.

That tent is creeping closer. Just a teaser guys. Stay tuned. I'm hoping Dale is released back to the nursing home today so I can take the time to price ventilation systems. Any pointers from the gallery? These are uncharted waters for me and time is short. Inexpensive and easy to source are my major guidelines. I am not adverse to DIY.

My bus stop is coming up so let me close this with a hope that your day is filled with all the joy you can find in yourselves to share. :green_heart:

:Namaste:

(As the doors of the bus open she hits "Submit Reply". :laughtwo::green_heart: )

I bought a dual squirrel fan that was actually made to force air into a BBQ/wood grill to help provide the oxygen to the coals etc. I just saw that you didn't want DIY type info I think it was $60.00 on ebay. Anyway it was rated at 350 cf/m so I put a fan controller on it and have it set to exhaust all the air in my 7'x10'x7' 490 cft grow room in about 2-3 minutes, approximately half speed. It shuts off every other hour when the CO2 is injected and then runs all night to keep fresh air in the room. I think it is worth noting that my room that I built cost only $900.00 with lights fans controls...everything but I did the work myself.

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

I was reading this link over on Greytail's thread and it is marvelous. I needed to share it with you.

Pacific Horticulture Society | Plants Are in Control

I'm not done reading yet. This is what prompted me to share. My favorite passage so far:

"Left to their own devices, then, plants produce exudates that attract fungi and bacteria (and, ultimately, nematodes and protozoa); their survival depends on the interplay between these microbes. It is a completely natural system, the very same one that has fueled plants since they evolved. Soil life provides the nutrients needed for plant life, and plants initiate and fuel the cycle by producing exudates. "

This was pretty sexy too. LOL! Only an organic gardener would find this stuff "sexy". :laughtwo:

When any member of a soil food web dies, it becomes fodder for other members of the community. The nutrients in these bodies are passed on to other members of the community. A larger predator may eat them alive, or they may decay after they die. One way or the other, fungi and bacteria get involved, be it decaying the organism directly or working on the dung of the successful eater. It makes no difference. Nutrients are preserved and eventually are retained in the bodies of even the smallest fungi and bacteria. When these are in the rhizosphere, they release nutrients in plant-available form when they, in turn, are consumed or die.
Without this system, most important nutrients would drain from soil. Instead, they are retained in the bodies of soil life. Here is the gardener's truth: when you apply a chemical fertilizer, a tiny bit hits the rhizosphere, where it is absorbed, but most of it continues to drain through soil until it hits the water table. Not so with the nutrients locked up inside soil organisms, a state known as immobilization; these nutrients are eventually released as wastes, or mineralized. And when the plants themselves die and are allowed to decay, the nutrients they retained are again immobilized in the fungi and bacteria that consume them.

Enjoy the link.

I really need to read Jeff Lowenfels and Wayne Lewis' book "Teaming with Microbes: A Gardener's Guide to the Soil Food Web". I feel somewhat irresponsible that I haven't done so already. Wonder if I could afford to get it on the Kindle? Need to check that out.

You read that wrong, I have no problem with DIY. A squirrel fan you say? Let me research that.

Talking with my brother, I believe my Wiggle Worm EWC and Promix HP have arrived. I can't think of what else might be too big for him to carry up the 40 stairs. So, soil building. :slide: Dale's still fighting nausea and they're still trying to pin down the cause. Infectious Diseases is involved now. There's some strange life growing in the culture of his peritoneal fluid that has everyone stumped. He's doing nothing more than sleeping and retching, so I think I'm checking out soon and heading home. I have so much to get done in the next week it makes the mind spin.

You have no idea how sane this community involvement has kept me. I've always been able to deal with his need to have me by his side because hospitalizations were 10 days at the longest. True, there have been many of them recently, but there was always a break to laugh and catch our breath before the next challenge reared it's head. We've been in continuous survival mode for over two years now and this six-week long and another month at least ahead is taking a toll on both of us. I know I need time for me but it's disturbing that it means I have to leave him alone and lonely in institutional care. There's a certain amount of guilt in being able to retreat to the comfort of home. I would normally say the peace of home, but right now it's in such a state of clutter that it's not all that peaceful. Let me go home and change that for the better. Then mix some soil up.

Sounds like a plan. Later Guys.

Damn good to hear Dutty. I thought I was a pissing you off lately !

I like to code. When the syntax is flowing, I giggle and cackle late at night

Soil stirring is good for the soul.

Yesterday, I did around 15 gallons of soil assembly in 3 batches.

It's really difficult to share the joy of mixing fancy mud pies with co-workers and co-commuters.
They don't get it. It's like when you try to explain lead training a pony girl who loves to be whipped :)
