I wanted to try canna milk tonight to see if the buzz was everything I'd read. I even bought a small thermos on my way home expecting to take some for Dale tomorrow, but I have no milk here tonight so, oh well. Looks like brownies. We ran out and both of them asked about some today. I guess I'm doing something right.

In case anyone is interested, the canna milk recipe was to simmer 2 cups of whole milk and 2 grams of buds for an hour. Strain and drink. A dose is usually 1/4 cup but can range from 2 TBS to 2/3 cup. Easy does it at first. It is reputed to hit hard and fast.

Now let me go and do those brownies. I've been using just over 3 grams a batch and that's working quite nicely. I decarboxylize the cannabis first and that simple step increases the potency. I know I'm not imagining it. The place always smells so incredible when I bake brownies. Mmmmmmm.

And decarboxylizing your buds eh... I was remembering this subject as I made my butter, looks like I have some room to improve on my Purple Elephant CannaButter!

Max, when you make butter, or anything that has you steeping the cannabis in fat, you don't need to decarboxylate. For instance, the milk steeps for an hour, the butter for three and so on. That time with the heat just right and the hours of steeping decarboxylates for you and binds the THC to the fat. Anything else you plan to cook I would recommend it. Not that I have any great experience here, but I snack on my bud when I cook, so having it already decarboxylated comes in handy.

I can't wait to see your other recipes Max. These muffins and cupcakes look absolutely melt-in-the-mouth delicious. German chocolate is one of my favorite desserts in the world, next to carrot cake. Ooooo, we need a recipe for carrot cake.

These brownies smell soooo good! It's wrong that they have to be saved for tomorrow. Well, I could get the pipe out. Funny, but I usually spend more time posting and reading journals or studying and forget to smoke as planned. Edibles changed the way I indulge. :laughtwo:

THE ART OF CURING

I'm curing my first harvest, trying to stay away from the majority of it so we can maximize our effort. Curing is something of an art form in itself. You first have to time the initial drying correctly and then you have to carefully, though casually, control the storage to bleed off gases released by the buds as they dry the rest of the way.

You're shooting for a slow, relaxed cure, somewhere around 2-3 months gets suggested most frequently around here. There's often a significant change in smell as the cure becomes complete. I'm just now beginning to notice that in my own jars, and I'll tell you guys, I got crazy excited when I realized it today. Suddenly the Buddha buds (5 weeks since harvest, 4 weeks curing) took on a sweet lemon smell. The Bomb, only three weeks in cure, still smells of chamomile, but with a milder tone and a subtle change recently to something I can't put my finger on yet.

Both of them have become a smoother smoke as the weeks have gone by. That's how that hit took me by surprise this morning. :laughtwo: The taste is changing too. The best way I can describe it is "broader". Does that make sense to anyone? Up until yesterday Buddha 's buds had almost no taste. Today they are a very low-level lemony suggestion. Interesting.

Tonight I chose Buddha buds. Sticky buds. Four weeks in the jar and my fingers are sticky from breaking pieces off. :slide: It's a clean, ethereal buzz that gets the creative juices going, so my mind is racing with ideas. This is one of those nights in the community where some excellent ideas have come out in discussions and I have to make some adjustments. The benefit of all these brainstorming minds in our virtual neighborhood.

I've just about figured out how to fit a 4'x4' tent into our 12'x12' bedroom and still have room for us. :laughtwo: It took some out-of-the-box thinking. Lots of work for me (we've lived here nine years - you can imagine how much stuff there is to eliminate) but major benefit for the family and for :420: . Well worth the effort.

Orders go out in the morning. Time for to bed. Let's see if I can pull myself away. :laughtwo::green_heart:

Hey Sue just got caught up on your journal and I just wanted to applaud you. Your intro was very touching and I admire your strength. Your Autos look great too! I look forward to running some Autos this spring as well but not sure about which, would you run the same strain if you could do it over?

See? I almost went to bed and missed you raisingcain. :laughtwo: Welcome and thank you. I think at some point I might try each of them, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to become addicted to the 11/13 lighting schedule, so they'll be like new strains. That appeals to me. There are a couple other strains I want to try first though.

You mentioned a tent. Have you changed your idea from Dale building a box? I know you said he might not be home for a few more months but a building project might be a good thing for his mental recovery when he gets home. Something to do kind of thing. That home he is in has to be a huge drag, I can only imagine what he/you are going through. Positive vibes and thoughts being sent your way. :Namaste:
