Subbed! Looking forward to how your dark devil turns out as I just chopped one myself and was a mixed up seed and turned out pure dark purple buds.

Welcome littlemiss. I'd love to see your Dark Devil. Is that in your current journal?

Sounds like things are going to get big! :)

The inevitable expansion Mono. It caught me a bit by surprise, but I'm warming up to it. Looking at filtration/ventilation systems today and dreaming. And smiling. Lots of smiling.

We're having a brownie every day (really need to make some butter for caramels) and this latest batch was made with Buddha Buds. We're finding that this strain leaves one with the most delightful sense of lightheartedness when ingested. Easy laughter and relaxed contentment. I like this strain. I'm becoming more fond of medibles and that long-lasting buzz.

I went and checked it out and Oooooo does that get me excited! That's just what I'm hoping to get from mine. So much color. Have you tried a quick dry for a taste yet?

Edit: read further. Yum.

My Dark Devil was a purple pheno, left her get a little tall because I had no time to do any maint, so I just left her do whatever she wanted :laughtwo:

I totally get the medible bug! Once you get your dosing right, as it is a bit different for each strain and each new batch of canna-oil, you get that perfect buzz where life is just a dream and you can laugh at everything :) The cotton mouth is much easier to deal with and the munchies are just as satisfying - multiple times!

I know! It's a whole new experience for me. Dale an I were talking today about how different it now feels, knowing we have enough to even do edibles. The high lasts soooo long and is so much more ... normal. :laughtwo: The nicest thing is knowing this won't end because we ran out.

A new world of possibilities.

Sally, I thought you were already subbed in. :laughtwo: Welcome to the new journal. :welcome:

You, my darling girl, are my 50th official subscriber. I've been keeping track because I couldn't believe how many of you chose to join me on this adventure.

That deserves, at the very least, a bit of celebration and a big virtual hug of welcome. :circle-of-love: :green_heart::green_heart::green_heart:

I know the temptation is strong to try to express our frustration, but our policy has to be report and ignore. Every engagement only makes more work for our wonderful mods. Report. Ignore. Continue our joyful journey.

Track the post back to the profile page and hit "Ignore". The images will vanish like magic.

Well then how about that cannabis growing? Sure is fun. And peaceful and kind. I'm going to water my garden. Good night folks.

Daily Update: Dark Devil Auto - Day 7

One week old today! These early days, when it looks like nothing's going on, but we all know the roots are establishing their contact with the soil food web and getting ready for the explosive growth we all anticipate.

Here she is, all alone in the closet, with only the living mulch to keep her company. Hopefully, within the week I can get some new seeds going and add more companions.

image22228.jpg

We have to have a shot with this beautiful LED lighting, eh? Thank you for the tip newoldguy. That was very helpful.

image22229.jpg

My fungus gnats are too smart for the bottle of vinegar. Not a single suicide. Time to break out the big guns.

image22230.jpg

I keep a bottle of diatomaceous earth handy for puffing onto the mulch layer. This way as the gnats climb through the mulch they get torn up by the sharp edges of the microscopic fossilized exoskeletons that make up DE.

image22231.jpg

This bottle has a feed tube that runs to the bottom and acts beautifully to puff a fine mist of DE across the surface.

image22232.jpg

After I'm done puffing it on I wiggle it into the mulch with my fingers a bit to get a wider broadcast. Now I just leave it to do its work.

image22233.jpg

The added benefit of using DE is the input of silica it adds to the soil. I was going to invest in Agsil for my weekly coconut water/aloe vera juice drenches, but in researching this past week on The Logical Gardener I learned that for a small container garden like mine DE is an excellent choice, and I have a huge bag of it on hand.

Because I dusted with DE today I'll wait for tomorrow to do the coconut/aloe drench. That way we eliminate many gnats before we water the DE in. Maybe set the water portion up with a dunk in it overnight to hit the gnats with a double whammy. Sounds like a plan.

I topped off the reservoirs today - 1 1/2 cups each. I also turned off the small fan because evidentially this light moves enough air in this tiny closet to keep it at a nice 73 degrees at the moment. I'm ok with that for now. Humidity is still around 50-60% and holding steady. No need for anything else this morning. Just let her grow.

I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the HB addition, it's racing at top speed laying plans for this step. Orders go out on Wednesday for supplies. I need to start some seeds for the LOS pot though. I'm thinking at least one bag seed tiered in each pot so I can watch the differences with the same strain in different mediums. Thankfully I have another 7 gallon Geo Pot for the HB plantings. So excited! WooHoo!! Now, life needs to cooperate with the set up plans. After it's up and running both approaches are essentially water only.

I can't tell you how exciting it is to be able to demonstrate how easy it can be to grow high quality cannabis in what I believe are the two best approaches available. This is like being in gardening heaven.

I want to thank you all for the encouragement and reps. I can't keep up with all of them because I'm also tracking over 80 journals and threads, but I smile every time I notice them posted. Such a nice way to pat someone on the back. I feel so protected here. You have no idea.

You all have a wonderful day. Spread some joy while you're at it. :laughtwo::green_heart:

I love the way the LED light gives off that purple light, you can just see she is building up the roots then she'll just explode to her new found light :) :thumb:

I know. I get all giddy looking at the pictures. One of the disadvantages of LED is I can't sit and watch the plants grow without special glasses, which I won't get for a couple months. It's such a bonus for the plants though that I'll get over it.

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

I can understand that! :) What kind of glasses do you need to look in LED light if you don't mind me asking? There is also the another added bonus since you won't be able to watch her grow in a sense, there will be more anticipation and excitement to see her get bigger :cheertwo:

If you Google "grow light glasses" there are numerous brands to choose from. They run a bit more than my budget allows since I need to prioritize soil building first and then get a ventilation/filtration system. Glasses will fall third on the list.

You make a good point, but I'm fond of those daily update photos. It gives me a wonderful documentation of day-to-day changes. I'll just have to get up a few minutes before the lights come on to get pictures or take them out of the space. Haven't worked all that out yet. :laughtwo:
