SweetSue's Perpetual 3.0 - The Hempy/HB Hybrid Grow

IMG_252223.JPG

Better. For some reason I've taken to saving the roots. This specimen went into the bag with the rest of them. Someday I'll have a use for them.

IMG_252416.JPG

Good day Sue and Company!

Indeed, you should save your roots Sue. I have used them for decades to make a cream for burns, cuts and scrapes. Roots do contain a quantity of alkaloids and Choline, useful stuff to our bodies ans skin. I dry the roots for months, grind into a powder and infuse the powder into a cream (cocoa butter, coconut oil, vitamin E, and rosemary is my favorite recipe) of your choosing. You have a recipe for skin cream I read a year to two ago ... maybe try powdered root as the Cannabis component.

Peace
Keith

I kept my plants from my first grow, their skeletons and a few roots.. one is still in the pot lol! Cant bear to throw them away.. will be great nostalgia items to keep on the shelf some day. Soon i will take the other one out of the pot and spray them with scotch guard i think, to preserve them. Any other better suggestions then the scotch guard?

Its really neat the roots hold the perlite together like that. Thanks for that explaination on bud washing.. the more i read about it, the more i want to try it. Id go with your route and use only h2o2.. so you use the whole 32 oz bottle in the sink? So thats maybe 1 part h2o2 to 5 parts of water?

Thank you for that excellent idea Keith. I knew if I mentioned it someone would chime in. So glad it was you. I'll be making more pain cream soon, and I'll incorporate some powdered roots.

:laughtwo: Yeah....we're not obsessed with this hobby. LOL!

I've never measured my sink capacity, so I have no idea how much it holds. I estimate I'm using about 10 gallons of water and I do add the entire 32 oz bottle. That would make it around 1,537 fl. ounces of water to the 32 ounces of H2O2. Hmmm..... Methinks I could probably add more. That's a 48:1 ratio. I'll look further into this before my next harvest. That may be sufficient to the chore at hand.

I'm getting ready to fire up these tiny "accidents" from yesterday's harvest of Thin Mint Cookies.

IMG_256420.JPG

When I break them up they smell like candy, and for the longest time I couldn't figure out which candies, and suddenly it hit me - Smarties. :cheesygrinsmiley: They smell like Smarties. Now to see what they do euphorically. :slide:

I hope to be back soon. :laughtwo:

I only got a couple hits in and I got inspired to launch the new journal. Thin Mint GSC might be a keeper. :laughtwo: Definitely high THC. Whew! Tastes of lemon/lime. I'd never come across one that straddled the citrus line in that manner. Usually you get one or the other.

I like it. :cheesygrinsmiley:

New journal, for those that care to follow along.

Transplanted CBD Critical Cure 2.6 today into something with a wider surface area, allowing me to train her to fill every inch of real estate. Tell me she doesn't look happy :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_257123.JPG

I remembered to plant her off-center. Getting her into a pot this shallow was a chore and I tore her roots up a bit getting her in. She never missed a beat.

Her canopy is already level. All I need to do is direct positioning.

IMG_257424.JPG

The veg area is finally at a controllable level. :laughtwo:

Err... 1,280 fluid ounces?

Yum! Smells like Smarties and tastes like Sprite (lemon / lime). I'm guessing your description of its fragrance, taste, and the effect probably caused a few readers to add that one to their shortlist.

That flower tape... Why do I keep imagining that container with a layer of those little colored "fish tank rocks" on top of the perlite, lol?

Yes, I made it home safely. Sore... but safe. Now, an hour's worth of work to do and then a journal to create.

Whoa i didnt realize that sink was so big.. Thanks for the ratio! Im nervous about it but you make it look so simple.. i love how you hang them right above the sink. Gave me an idea to hang mine off my stove hood and let them drip into pots, which is right next to my sink. I have a double sink too so its super perfect for the task at hand. Harvest is next weekend hopefully, so maybe ill grow a pair by then lol.

No not obsessed at all... just totally in love with what im doing!! those thin mint cookies do look very delectable!

Hope you got some much-needed rest TS. The journal will be done in its right time.

I do cute up the grow don't I? :laughtwo: Bits of colored glass are one of my primary weaknesses, so I could see that if it wouldn't heat up the roots, but colored fish pebbles????? I don't think so. :battingeyelashes:

Good morning everyone

Yeah.... it's still morning. :battingeyelashes: Rolled out of bed this morning right into my walking shoes and soent the greater part of the first two hours wandering along the river admiring the seasonal changes. What a glorious day! It's gonna be stinkin' hot, so early morning was the best opportunity for a walk. I didn't even leave the house once yesterday, in gross violation of one of my cardinal rules. The river path in early morning is a little bit of paradise. :dreamy:

Check out this transformation. Give a girl a little freedom and she'll take over the world. :laughtwo:

I decided a few minutes ago to take a cutting at day 15, provided it's a female, and grow it out in the bathroom on its own, so she can spread out. She can start under the quantum boards until the girls in here get harvested.

IMG_261824.JPG

Yeah...... she's happy. :slide:

And you tell me this isn't the finest specimen of Carnival I've grown so far. :blunt:

I see I've slipped into afternoon. Lol! I suppose this would be a good time to pause and have a bite to eat then, since I've neglected to do so yet. I'm having a wonderful day, and I'm hoping you're doing the same. Living deliberately is empowering beyond my wildest imaginings, and I'm just now beginning to understand the finer aspects of this game the universe and I are playing.

What I do know is that choosing to be joyful in the face of anything that comes along transforms your life and assists the spontaneous healing your body was evolved to express. So join me in the dance of joy on this glorious new day. Get out there and share it with any lucky soul that walks close to you. :laughtwo: It'll make both of your days sparkle just a little brighter.

:ciao:

...... Oh yeah, look.... they're doing well. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

Good morning everyone

Checking in on the girls I stopped to have a snack.

I've begun eating popcorn I used to pull off and freeze, just as a little pick-me-up. :cheesygrinsmiley: I figure it's a steady supply of some valuable acid cannabinoids.

I like having so many plants in bloom at once. You'd think this would be overwhelming, but instead I'm invigorated by all the energy they put off. I may have to keep this space in use. :battingeyelashes:

An unusually quiet day in the garden. No one needs drenched. :thedoubletake: Yeah...it surprised me too. :laughtwo: It'll leave me time to catch up around here. Things are finally settling to a smooth flow. In a few weeks it's going to be a non-stop harvest fest. Lol! I'm thinking I'll be needing some new jars.

Take a breath............. Feel that joy wanting to bubble to the surface? Let it rip. :laughtwo: Get out there and show the world how unconditional loving works from your perspective and watch the universe bring you more to love. It's cosmic law, you get what you give. Make it your purpose to offer loving.

I'm gonna throw on a pot of porridge and jump into the steamy shower, get this day off to a roaring start. I'll see you around the yards. :ciao:

IMG_26489.JPG

Used the last of the cannabutter, and it was a larger piece than usual. I may not be good for much more than Joy today. :laughtwo:

A small training session

Pigeons 420 was commenting how he used to use stakes made of coat hangers - the same style I use, inspired by him - to pin the plants down, but now he manipulates them aggressively to get the heads down, manipulating and bending the branch right down to its attachment at the stalk.

You'd think that'd hurt them, but they thrive with this handling. So I decided to start doing the same.

IMG_266620.JPG

CBD Critical Cure 2.6 got off easy, since most of her canopy is even. I still manhandled every branch to toughen them up. Pigeons recommends doing this every day until you flip them.

IMG_266722.JPG

Blue Dream S1 got a little more "directional realignment." :battingeyelashes:

IMG_266819.JPG

Candy Cane 3.1 got the most handling, with her gangly branches starting to take off. She'll be transplanted soon, and I'm deciding between the pot emptied when I transplanted CBD CC 2.6 or put her into one of the low and wide pots and train her the way I'm doing her shelf mate. If I can keep her low the gangly nature might not be a concern.

I have another pot. I'll transplant her at her next watering, which I believe is tomorrow.

IMG_267021.JPG

We'll check back later to see how they've rebounded.

IMG_267223.JPG

The alarm for the dehydrator went off. Emptying it I was struck by the fascinating preservation of the hairs, every one still in place, reaching to catch pollen that'll never arrive.

IMG_267322.JPG

Frosty little buds, they are. :slide:

IMG_267520.JPG

They also look a little dry to me. After an hour with the hygrometer my suspicions were confirmed. Next time back off two hours with the dehydrator.

IMG_267721.JPG

Two hours sealed up with a Boveda and the buds are stable at 62%.

IMG_268119.JPG

If they stay stable this means I dried that harvest in what..... 3 day? Yep! Three days, just like the CBD Critical Cure 2.2.1 I harvested right before her. Sooooo...... If I schedule the harvests four days apart I can get one processed before the next one comes down. Mmmm..... That sounds like a delicious vision of the immediate future. :blunt:

Things rarely slow down around here, but I'm going to take these three bits 'o bud and make it stop , if only for a while.

IMG_267925.JPG

IMG_268219.JPG

Catch you later. :ciao:

Hahah looks great sue. jealous you have quite the garden there :) I subbed to your grow want journal! Hope you have a HIGHly inspirational day!

I decided to stop f'n around and make some brownies for myself. :cheesygrinsmiley:

8 grams of Carnival, approx. 1/2 tablespoon liquid sunflower lecithin, and 1/2 cup coconut oil. In the oven on the lowest setting for the next 36 hours, shaking vigoriously every time I think of it.

IMG_270218.JPG

After 8 hours the Thin Mint GSC stabilized at about 67% RH. That's low enough to keep jarred up and begin curing. I removed the Boveda and from here on out the jar will be left open for 30 minutes a day until it's stable at 62%, then I'll drop the Boveda back in.

IMG_270324.JPG

Three days and in the jar. :slide: It's still so fragrant that the tiny buds I left out to smoke earlier filled the room with lemony sweetness. I dug out a larger bud and I'm going to fire it up right now. :roorrip:

Good to hear girl. It'll make all he difference. Planning on four doses a day? The correct answer is "Yes!" :high-five: Your measurements are more in keeping with the general population. I've been using cannabis daily for the past 36 years, with the exception of the 8 years I went bat-shit crazy and made us quit. :laughtwo: I run on a much higher octane than your average cannabis consumer. Lol!

The daughter was over last evening and was shaking her head that I down a brownie in one sitting. She nibbles at hers all day long, each bite delivering about 10 mg of THC, while I down my entire 75 mg load of THC in four bites, and all at once. :laughtwo:

Good morning everyone

Greetings from the happiest bathroom in the world. Lol!

IMG_271328.JPG

Today I'm going to attempt to get a handle on what's ahead for each of my charges. I'm overloaded in flowering and I desire a more amiable flow to the perpetual. That means one plant started every two weeks, so I need to get a grip on who follows who through the bloom spaces. It should be a fun romp through my brain. Sometimes these sessions get the best of me. :laughtwo:

Time for some nutritious supplementation for the cultivator. I'll leave you with an encouragement to let the light of your inner joy shine brightly today. You never know whose life you'll light up just by being a beacon of hope and happiness, and I think we have a better grip on the happiness thing than many around us. It happens all the time that I make some person's life unexpectedly shine and I know I'm not alone. Lol! Living with this much unbridled joy is the most fun I've had in all my 63 years.

I'll catch up with you all later, after drenches are finished. Today I'll feed Sue first. :battingeyelashes: :ciao:

The stores are building. I'm almost ready to try CCO again. :slide:

Thin Mint came in at just around 20 grams. Not bad for an Osmo gal in a 2-liter.

IMG_271621.JPG

Devil's Carnival was right around 14'grams from the fridge (counting what I'd already tasted), added to the 14 grams from the dehydrator gives me a clean ounce of this delicious chemovar. * contented sigh*
