Weekly Update: Friday, June 1, 2018
Back into the routine.
What say we take a stroll through my garden and see how they're coming along? The daughter did a good job of keeping the girls alive.

Pretty quiet over here, but that'll change soon. J has a few clones he'll be dropping off, and Hash Hound has one of his own he's bringing in a week or so.
One hour later......
Whew! The danger of getting really high on Carnival is that you find yourself doing some chores you'd been putting off. Lol! Ok, I'm back again with focus. Ready?
Two Dark Devil Auto seeds got dropped into perlite soaked in a mild nutrient solution, about 1/8 strength. No movement yet.
The Black D.O.G. Didn't get the training I might have normally applied, but I'm kinda likin' the way she looks like an elegant bonsai plant. She's still holding at the top veg level of nutes, 12 ml of Parts A & B with 4 ml of Energy for every gallon of water used.
I've checked her thoroughly, and there's no signs of any insect communities. Healthy leaves and strong energy define this specimen. I'll take a cutting because you never know.
Tent #1 Devil's Carnival 1.7
I let her get too dry, and then I didn't check the heat levels, and it hit 88 in here this morning. The air conditioner wasn't on, a mistake for my tents this time of the year. From now on the ac in the bedroom goes on every morning, regardless
She started on bloom nutrients today, 14 ml of Parts A & B with 1 ml of Energy for every gallon of water used.
It took no time at all to perk her up.
I set her in the tent, and decided to do some defoliation and take some clone cuttings while I was at it.
I was pretty ruthless.
The cuttings got bagged and set far from the light.
Tent #2 - Red Diesel
The most amazing perfume permeates this tent. I can't wait to taste her harvest in cob form. I've lost tract for the moment as to where she is in the drench schedule. I'll consult my notes before I do. The next on pe either tomorrow or Sunday.
Lots of dense buds, coming into the harvest window. I haven't checked with the loupe yet, but I'd say she's about two weeks out, could be sooner.
She's turning out better than I expected. I couldn't be more thankful.
And on that lovely shot we bring the nickle tour to a close. I lasted long enough to post, but I won't last any longer. I'll be asleep in a couple minutes.

Chewing on cob and some flower to chase it with should I have a need. Today I get to see what the Malawi really has to offer in cob form. I just had a deep rumble begin. This may be more fun than I anticipated.

I don’t sugar coat Hacker, so if I say “Oh I loved it so much” you can be sure I did. Lol!
The Red Diesel had a longer than normal veg period. I chopped her back a couple times and didn’t flip until Day 140. I’m surprised she’s done as well as she has.

Chris....what was your impression of Somango? I have some seeds which were a cross of Somango and Reina Madre.
I haven't smoked a lot of it, but do like it
Smells fantastic, I'm not a guy who tastes weed but it smells great
It's still curing, so I'm thinking a week or two and I'll test it again

I had the opportunity to sample a few puffs of Sue's Malawi? COB today.
It was very tasty, and had a hash like effect. In other words I didn't get much done after I left.
Sue or Chris Scorpio, I just broke up a bud of the Blueberry and 6 seeds rolled out.
Are these fems or regs?

Whew! What a day! Lol! Somewhere about 9 PM I crashed across the bed and woke up just after midnight. I haven't learned to pace myself with the cobs yet. It appears they rev up the metabolism and then in the end you notice it all at once. Lol!
I'm leaving the testing to the daughter, and she's just now getting into it. Indicas make me weepy and introspective, when my preference is for the soaring high of Carnival. I think I remember giving Hash Hound some of the Somango @MagicJim. Maybe he'll chime in with his impressions.
Today the daughter finally tried the Blueberry. About three hits in her eyes fell into that indica slit and she smiled real big, a twinkle coming from behind the drooping lids and pronounced "I like this Blueberry!"
She says it's a "smiley face high." Smiling feels normal, and not smiling feels forced. It got really high marks from her.
I haven't smoked it yet, but the aroma was irresistable. I loved Mango, and this chemovar hits similar notes. I'll give some a go and let you know Jim

Oh thanks Scottay. I could use this now. I woke around midnight and remembered I hadn't started the pain cream oil. So I ground up the 16 grams of bud, and started to measure the oil, when I noticed I'd pulled out the EVOO instead of the grape seed. So I cleaned out the measuring cup and grabbed the bottle of grape seed.
After mixing up the bud and oil and closing it up into the pressure cooker I turned around to discover I'd used the EVOO anyway. *sigh*
I figure things always work out for me and that applies here. I have no idea what I'll do with this oil, but there's a reason why it turned out this way. I'm pretty sure it won't work as a topical. Someone other than I must need it for something that I don't know about yet.
This'll help soften the disappointment that I may have wasted 16 grams of bud.
Of course, in my world things always work out. That was indeed the Malawi cob. So..... the cob slowed you down, did it? Lol! How did your other projects go?

She has really pretty leaves.
Tonight she rests on the floor, acclimating to the new digs and lights.
Tomorrow I'll get her transplanted into perlite. She has a nice root system that should adapt beautifully to hempy. With the Carnival clone from J this sets my part of the first run. Oh! I still have a CBD CC to start.
I decided today that if all I grew for myself was Carnival and DDA I'd be perfectly happy. The Carnival and DDA cobs are already my favorites. I'll grow out this new clone to see what effect it offers, and by then I'll have cobs of my own DDA to test. If my suspicions are correct I'll learn to resist the call of everything else until I have a barn to grow in. Lol!
I wish I'd shipped home a piece of his cobs. It'll be months and months before I have one of my own from a DDA, and that was an amazing cob to smoke. By that point I was beginning to feel greedy.
Hey..... This oil I have brewing is half Devil's Carnival and half Black D.O.G. It should be mighty powerful, and full of b-caryophyllene, making it potentially good meds for someone with inflammation. If anyone knows of someone in need of this type of oil, please send them my way.
So Sue what are your thoughts on the 3 month old Malawi Cob? Any cool experiences?
Also looking at your update, do you have a light leak in the black dog tent? I see a lot of 3 and 4 bladed leaves on her.

The Malawi isn’t the intense high I’m looking for, but it is an uplifting embracing of the universe. The cob had me in the most serene state of mind all day long.
I’m finding the cobs wear me out. Lol! There’s a shift in the metabolic rate that keeps me revved up for hours and hours. When it wears off I have to get me to my bed. Lol! I got a lot done in the day and enjoyed every minute of it.
I supplement with brownies, which skewers my ability to discern the total effect of the Malawi in cob form. What I’m discovering is that I’m already partial to the Carnival cob I had at Chris Scorpio’s and I’m waiting to open mine up on Wednesday.
Have you developed a preference to any of your cobs yet? I’ve learned that, like you, I get the best high smoking them, at least so far. I suspect that’ll change when I find the chemovar that works best for me.
