SweetSue's Perpetual 3.0 - The Hempy/HB Hybrid Grow

Chris Scorpio's Carnival smokes down into a clean white ash, every delicious hit. :goodjob: :green_heart:

The practice is in recognition of the force of life. The natural inclination of that seedling is to cast off the shell to lift its arms to the sun. There's more force in that effort than we give credit to, but we inhibit natural forces that work in concert with that cosmic urge to expand when we plant the seed in perlite.

Lacking the friction of trillions of grains of soil to rub the shell off, our seedlings pop up still embraced by the protective shell. What it lacks at this time is the powerful lubrication of H2O. The opportunistic water molecules insert themselves into every opening and apply their own pressure, and the shell spreads open a tiny bit more, and more, and more, until it's easier to remove without damaging the tender seedling.

I start with one drop from my fingertip and force myself to wait a minute before repeating with another drop of water. I keep doing that until I see an opportunity to use toothpicks to more quickly finish. I could do more drops of water but I'm an impatient lazy gardener. Haha!

I'm totally down with that. Much bettah than my tweezers / prying method. Seems much less possible to damage the new leaves and I see the fruits of your labor and like it.
Tead's new way. Thanks!

We have a thread dedicated to it Jax. Dark Devil Auto: A Community Grow Experience

I always top at about the 5th node and leave them alone from then on. If you can work out some side lighting you can increase the yields, but other than that I just hit them with all the light I can and give them freedom to follow their Canna hearts. :battingeyelashes:
Might be a song in there "give them freedom to follow their Canna hearts

The Black D.O.G. in veg has thrips

Oh Sue, Thrips suck ... literally and figuratively!
She is in soil right? I've had a thrips infestation with soil a few years ago, damn things were on my plants by the tens of thousands. Ended up making hash from that grow, after an serious produce wash. I've never had thrips in a perlite only medium. Thanks for making me laugh, I really loved the inverted tent Sue! Jet lag most likely ... or maybe too much COB?

Peace
Keith

Sue... tell us of your water drop hat removal technique.
I've always just pulled them off with a pair of tweezers and a toothpick. The drop of water seems lazier... thus my attraction.

I moisten the seed with a mist from a spray bottle of water, repeat 4 or five times for a couple of minutes, set the sprayer to stream, lay my finger behind the seed and lightly blast it off. The finger backing prevents stem damage from the stream.

Skin a cat ...

Peace
Keith

I like the sound of this. :high-five:

Glad I got you to chuckle. That one was all jet lag. Lol! Cobs were the next day.

The babies are doing well. I’ll be watering one with tap water to decide if it’s worth it to distill. I’d sure like to find out it doesn’t matter.

I rinsed as much soil as I could from the roots of Zamaldelica x Panama and set it into perlite soaked in 1/4 strength nutrients. It’ll take her a day or two but she’ll bounce right back.

Black D.O.G. 2 got flipped today. I neglected to get any pictures. She went into the tent with DC 1.7.

Red Diesel is throwing off nanners like there’s no tomorrow. I may take her sooner than planned. She’s 57 days from flip right now. That may have to be enough. I’m not ready to do it tomorrow, but Wednesday looks like a good option.

I’ll be cobbing this one. :battingeyelashes:

DDA # 8 and 9? Now that's a dream to have. Do you buy all them seeds or have you made some of your own? I've got my first DDA on the grow as a test run to see how she grows then I'll be trying 1-2 more later on to spray with CS to get some pollen for chucking and hopefully make some more DDA seeds and some DDA crosses.

Rifleman seeded his DDA and when he came through town last summer he dropped off a slew of seeds for me to grow and share. You should have good luck with the seeding project. These are vigorious genetics.

Hi Sue! :hugs:

Do you know the ppm and chlorination method for your tap water? Most tap water is OK for seedlings, just got to get the chorination removed, via 5ml of H2O2 per gallon then rested for 24 hours. I'm running new water (new to me!) , and my TDS and pH meter indicates this tap water should be just fine for my first seedlings. I have 8 seedlings less than a week above the ground and all looks well so far. H2O2 ... ... I say it more than you say Chemovar!

Peace

My water has chloramines, and you can nutralize them by simply tossing some organic matter into the water and leaving it for 10 minutes or so. I'll keep your instructions for H2O2 on hand. I'm sure someone will need to know it somewhere along the way.

It seems the rest of the professional canna world has tired of trying to change how we refer to cannabis plants I can't seem to slip away from chemovar or cultivar. Ethan Russo will appreciate the effort. :battingeyelashes:

I stumbled onto a piece of sneaky propaganda. Someday we'll look back on these dark ages and giggle, but for now this crap is frustrating.

I look at all those notes they make about the problamatic effects of THC and I think they're nuts to call them problems.

Amygdala - regulates emotions, fear and anxiety. Too much THC will cause paranoia or panic, but just enough and you feel happy and capable, strong and fearless.

Basal Ganglia - regulates planning, as in starting a movement. They say THC will slow reaction times, but I'd bet my life athletes use cannabis because it enhances the planning stage.

Brain Stem - regulates information passage between the brain and the spinal cord. THC positively effects nausea, always a good thing. They left out the fact that the low level of CB1 receptors in this area means you can't be killed by using too much THC.

Cerebellum - regulates motor coordination and balance. Certainly too much THC will impair coordination, but again, I'd bet athletes use cannabis because it improves eye-hand coordination.

Hippocampus - regulates learning new information. They claim it impairs memory. If you're a PTSD patient you're thankful of this.

Hypothalamus- regulates eating and sexual behavior. They go with increased appetite, but science has proven that regular consumers of cannabis don't gain weight from the munchies. The people that do gain weight are those underweight. So in the final analysis this is a benefit of THC

I notice they shied away from discussing what THC can do for sex. Lol!

Neocortex- regulates complex thinking, feeling, and movement. THC will alter your thinking, your judgement and your sensations. For example, you'll feel happier, you'll be more present in the now instead of longing for the past or being fearful of the future and everything will "more" than it is without the benefit of THC.

Nucleus Accumbens - regulates motivation and reward. THC triggers euphoria. What can possibly be wrong with that?

Spinal Cord - regulates transmission of information between body and brain. THC will alter the body's sensitivity to pain by stopping the transmission in three different areas. There is no way this can be considered a bad thing, is there?

Subtle propaganda. I think it's more damaging overall than the blatant shit. I'll rework it some day into a celebration of what THC can do for a healing body. :battingeyelashes:

Remember... we're at war on drugs. Just like a regular war, the lies run thick.
The problem is that we've literally programmed a few generations of humans to not think about it and just jerk their knees.
Effective, wasn't it? Propaganda always is. I remember the storm of lies used to drag us back into the gulf the 2nd time. It was disgusting... disgusting to see our leadership do it, and even more disgusting to see how the pablum was happily consumed without question and then later ignored. Do some digging into WWII propaganda, or dig up some old Roman writing on the subject... it's been very effective for a long time.
Ain't lies fun?

Good morning everyone

Yeah..... pre-emptive war. There’s a concept to rally the masses around. *sigh*

A friend was watching old TV sitcoms one day and was shocked at how cannabis was presented as a dangerous gateway drug. It was a message she didn’t recognize as lies when she watched as a teen, but there it was, digging its way into the deep recesses of the brain to rise up again later as a questioning urge when “pot” came into the social scene.

Generations were raised with these despicable lies. What saddens me most is coming across someone in pain that won’t try a pain oil that’ll bring immediate relief because they’re afraid of failing a drug test and losing their job.

Or they don’t want to be “high.”

God forbid that we should feel good as we heal, unless it’s a state of mind achieved through the administration of the sanctioned pharmaceuticals that’ll bring side effects that you’ll now have to deal with too.

I made pain cream while in Phoenix, particularly for my dear friend who has debilitating hip pain. As far as I know her jar still sits, unopened, on her kitchen counter. She hears my voice, but bypasses the message of potential relief, still stuck in a mindset that sees cannabis as a dangerous drug we all need to be cautious about.

So she continues to walk around in pain while her relief greets her every morning from that kitchen counter. I tell you, it can be frustrating, if you let it. But this is me, and I won’t stay frustrated for long. Lol! Eventually she’ll reach for that jar out of curiosity, if nothing else, and be shocked at how the pain evaporates with each application.

The tide is turning. It’s going to be painfully slow from here to the end, but I don’t believe this is a momentum that governments -corrupt though they may be - can stop. In five years we'll be shocked at the amount of change in public perceptions of cannabis. Distributing lot and lots of pain cream will get us there faster. :battingeyelashes:

I slept ‘till 9:30 this morning. Damn! Must have been up later than I thought last night. Time to roll into the shower, but first I need to decide how I’m approaching the wake ‘n bake today. I have the choice of capsules, brownies, flower, and cob.

This is a wonderful way to start any day. Lol! How high do I want to be? Lol! I haven’t tried the Carnival cob I did at harvest yet. I’m drying both Carnival cobs out now, and I believe I’ll go with chewing a tad of that one with a couple bowls to get the buzz started. :slide:

Anyone have cobs to join me with? :battingeyelashes:

Hey.....I sure am glad to be here and to find you all here too. Get out there and have a splendiferous day, you hear? :hugs::hugs::hugs:

Hey Sue! Just getting here! Went back about 30 pages to get caught up. Very interesting stuff, girl! Had to go look up cobbing and what do ya know...found another thread of yours! Lol. Very cool. My interest is peaked! Anyway...here for the long haul! Keep doin ya thang!

You're gonna have to explain this one to me my friend. :hugs:

Hiyaaa Sue & crew!! Happy humpday folks!!! :volcano-smiley:

Looking forward to seeing you this weekend. You'll get a chance to see the garden up close and personal. :battingeyelashes:

Hiya Sue! Howd that carnival cob go? I’ve been looking forward to how they will go for you!

... are you traversing the stratosphere as I type?

:Namaste:

Actually Amy, I haven't had as much cob as I was planning to do I started with a small amount and then came into possession of some other goodies from bobrown14 that distracted me. Lol!

I've been playing with the Durban Gold all day since the delivery. The Carnival cobs are drying in the kitchen. I'll give them another shot tomorrow.

Cobs give a different type of buzz, where you feel in love with the cosmos. That's my normal state of being, and it's sometimes difficult to seperate the effects of the two. On top of that, I have so many options, and I usually indulge in all of them in the course of a day, so I'm up there in the stratosphere most of the day, every day. :yahoo:

Best retirement plan ever!

Haha! With over 60 threads started it doesn't surprise me that you found one.

Welcome Magoo. :hugs: Make yourself comfy and get to know the happy crew. We're coming to the end of this particular journey, just waiting on the new lights to come along so the new journal can get off the ground. I'll be sure to let you know when the switch gets made.

I'm here for the long haul too. This could take years. Lol!

The cobs are well worth exploring. The effects of fermentation include a cleaner, smoother smoke. For that alone it's worth giving a try. Are you in the position to wrap up an ounce or two of buds to give it a go?

While I have your attention let me get really nosey and ask how you use cannabis, and if you're using it medicinally, by what method of administration? I'm trying to get a feel for how the members medicate.
