SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

I was wondering about a thing. What's the difference between doc's kit and what they do at highbrix gardens? I mean - I know I can't send a soil sample to doc here, but they're both about making the soil into a living thing? right?

You just sounded like me writing about myself. Think we're many pain-patients among the growing community indeed. I've been addicted to quite a few pills during my days. Not so addicted to pills anymore - luckily. Thanks to this plant I believe I am no longer a morphine addict

Dory,

Thank you!!!! Please, be wordy. Your description was incredibly helpful! I am dealing with similar pain issues from MS. The muscle spasticity and pain make it hard to sleep. During the day, I have all sorts of symptoms that interfere with daily life. Some of which are difficulty with pain, balance, holding items, temperature sensitivity, bladder spasms, shooting nerve pain, and brain activity similar to seizures but mine originate in the brainstem causing all sorts of issues. Prednisone is their go to drug to help the inflammation in my nervous system calm down, but we all know how awful that stuff is. Ugh.

The tegretol, tramadol, soma, hydroxyzine cocktail for bedtime is one I would relish throwing in the trash. So it is incredibly helpful to hear your report on the the alcohol based tincture. Burning of the mouth does not sound like fun. The oil is where I think I will end up for steady relief, with some edibles for long-lasting sleep help, topical cream for pain (and the feet - yes!), and vaping for breakthrough pain and brain activity.

Again, thank you. Your post was just the kind of thing I need.:hugs:

Doc's kit is like living organic soil on speed. :laughtwo: I started my journey with Clackamas Coots-style LOS, a soil that definitely grows some of the best high brix with the least amount of effort you can choose. Then someone gifted me Doc's kit. It was like the universe stepped forward and said "Susan, stop working so hard at it. Here, have even more fun."

The high brix Doc's kit produces is consistently superior in every way to any method I've tried so far. The ash residue is always white, the terpene expression always more pronounced. The CAT is one of the big features. Doc has figured out how to keep the plants right at the sweet spot from beginning to end, but the CAT, and the way it flips the energy in the soil community, unlocking the nutrients necessary for the best oil production at the right time is the greatest bonus of the system, IMO.

The community of cultivators surrounding Doc on this site brainstorm the hell out of every nuiance of the kit, pushing it to greater heights of performance. It's really a wonder to be part of, all those dedicated and curious brains with little or no ego shoving its way into the mix. Sure, they're a little manic sometimes in their devotion to the man, but by God, he's made our lives so much easier most of us would walk through a wall for him. He not only made it reliable and consistent in results, he kept it affordable and he has the fastest delivery I've seen next to Amazon. He's not fooling around in his dream to change the way we grow. His desciples are devoted enough to push the agenda and set ego aside for the driving interest to grow the best damn cannabis on the planet and help our neighbors do the same.

Yeah......we do get passionate, don't we? :laughtwo:

Good Morning Everyone

Agreed. There are many pain patients that I feel are not receiving the help they need. There was a fabulous presentation by Mara Gordon during the Cannabis Health Summit where she explained that chronic pain is a disease state itself. That there is no purpose to chronic pain like there is acute pain, which is letting you know something is wrong. She gets it! Too bad many other Drs don't and governments care more about money and political party lines than helping the very people they are supposed to represent. To this day, I'm convinced this is why we lost Prince at an early age. I think he was trying to self-medicate chronic pain and not finding the relief he needed.

Addiction is another area politicians don't understand or simply choose to look the other way. And the studies are showing time, and time again, that cannabis is NOT a gateway drug. In fact, it helps many people kick addiction to harmful substances.

I refused to take any prescription pain pills when I hurt my back. At the time I would have rather been in pain than risk getting hooked on any opioids. I see the lives destroyed by those painkillers, wasn't going to take that chance. Thankfully I decided to try cannabis a couple months into the injury.

Thankfully, I am far from an addictive personality and have never had issues. In fact, I swing too far to the other side where I will take less than needed to deal with the pain, because I hate the side effects. So then I end up with breakthrough pain and have to play catch up. I'm not the best patient sometimes. :;):

But more than anything, I wish the public had not been systematically misled by the government on cannabis. I'm convinced I would not be in the position I am today if it had never been looked down upon.

Thats the way I am. I have lived with knee, shoulder and other pains associated with the Marine Corps and the physical damage that 22+ years can do to with a heavy pack or marathon type running. Occasional motrin use is all I would ever take. I never wanted to risk it. I saw my mom drink herself to a miserable existence and wanted no part of that or the crap associated with pain meds and the crossover to heroine. So I just dealt with it.....until I hurt the back. The back and nerve pain in the spin was enough to get me to consider cannabis and I am glad I did.

Should have read spine....damn 'e' isn't working correctly on my keyboard.

You always have 420 minutes from the original post time to make an edit. One of my favorite quirks of our system. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Most people don't understand the biology of addiction. With opioids it's not a matter of being an addictive personality, it's that opioids cause a biological mechanism to activate that makes the drug you're taking something that you must have or your body's incessant cravings will drive you out of your mind, quite literally. Then there's that quirk they have of suddenly causing more pain than they were treating.

The pharmaceutical companies have been aware of this from the very beginning.

Cannabinoids can shortchange the mechanism that causes those cravings, offer its own, safer and more natural alternative to pain reduction and also deal with the attending inflammation that caused the pain in the first place. Then it cuts the awlful reaccuring memories of the pain and brings you back to now. No memory of past pain dogging you, and removing the fear of future pain, now that you found a natural substance that speaks to your own healing force instead of hammering it's way into the cycle.

Healing on your terms, not on theirs. Too much of the pharma industry became about profits. Looking at the dismal state of Huntington, WVA will convince even the most hardened among us that the companies are complicit in the epidemic we're working so hard to counteract.

Thanks for the info and I know that about Opioids and their addiction. That is why I refuse to take them. Hell I don't even like taking the stupid muscle relaxers they prescribed for muscle spasms. I feel like a vegetable when I take them. I just sit and stare at the window in front of me, or the TV if its on, and I don't remember anything during that time. Forget that. The relief from the cannabis is so much better, faster and pleasurable.

CBD is a renown antispasmodic. Cannabis......tell me again why we have to fight so hard to free this marvelous plant? How do we get our legislators to understand the connection between the ECS and cannabis in a way that they aren't afraid any more? It took the determined parents, the relentless pounding of desperate people seeking relief for their children suffering the tragedy of seizures, to bring the medicinal values of cannabis into the public forefront. The rising call now is that opioids kill and cannabis doesn't. Somewhere along the line the next message of relief that can't be ignored will rise up, and I believe it'll be in treatment of cancer. The rumblings have been there since Rick Simpson made himself known loud and clear, and with more states going legal that clarion call is bound to break into the loudest chorus of all.

Burn units should be carrying canna creams. Athletic teams should be administering CBD-rich meds instead of steroids. The military should be giving the soldiers daily allotments of cannabis in its many forms. You ask someone to fight for your freedom they should at least have open access to a drug that can help them process the hell they'll witness and be a part of. Palliative care and nursing care are two realms that have so much to gain from cannabinoid therapies than I can barely think about it without mental pain. Children should be offered cannabinoid therapies before Ritalin. The list is inexhaustible.

We'll get there. We were the generation raised on instant gratification, so we get impatient, but we never expected it to get this far in our lifetimes, did we? I have great hope and expectations for the generations following us.

Doing the second CATs for my darlings today and it all begins with this little trick of gently breaking up the topdressing so the water seeps through and carries the goodness of the Recharge and EWC into the soil instead of channeling off to the sides and bottom. Graytail taught me this back when he mentored me through my first Carnival grow.

I too have back issues in the lumbar area and had cervical 6 and 7 fused about 25 years ago. Everything about my spine is degenerative so it's not going to get any better.

I'm just curious. What strains have you successfully used for your back and nerve pain?

He left a post in the new thread this morning Jim, and he described the astounding instantaneous effects of Alaskan Thunderfuck. It sounds like one you should give a look at. :hugs:

For me....in my limited cannabis experience (5 strains)...the Alaskan Thunderfuck has worked the absolute best....even on muscle spasms after hard sessions of physical therapy. Chemdawg 4 has worked well for night time....but isn't as strong of relief. The ATF isn't a real common strain anymore...and it's unlikely that what I have is the real old school strain, but whatever it is, it works.
