SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

[SIZE]

No joke, a shopvac is amazing for spider mite removal.. the hose usually fits right over the buds and will suck up all the webbing, mites, and some of the eggs. Then I remove the filter and literally burn it, spray the inside down with azatrol, then bleach, then alcohol to make sure everything was killed. Call me paranoid if you will, but I hate those bastards. I don't get the iso wash, though.. with how quick isopropyl breaks down thc, it starts to remove it from the flowers almost immediately depending on the percentage. If it's dripping off the buds it's pulling medicine off, in my opinion. Cheese cloth or coffee filters would filter all of the bugs, feces, whatever out of the oil. Just my thoughts :)

Indicas tend to keep me up at night due to the higher psychoactivity and most of the indicas I've smoked or ingested haven't helped my body pain, in fact, they tend to amplify the pain. Sativas, I call "whistle while I work weed." They help my pain, allow me to obtain a zen like mindstate so falling asleep is easy. They agree with me more.. which is fine, sativas love my recipe. Indicas not so much, but I'm working on a seperate recipe for those.

My tolerance is through the roof. I've been dabbing a couple grams of my crumble and have a joint in my mouth most of the day... for over a decade. I eat a couple of these cookies in a sitting. My fiancé Hannah, she eats a quarter of one and wakes up with a high over. :)

A shop vac, eh? Just gave one away. :laughtwo: Good info to have on hand though.

The ISO used for mite control is only a 50/50 strength, not enough to cause trichome leaking. I have to be alert when I reach for the bottle, since it sits next to the 91% bottle that'd destroy all my work.

You get higher euphoria from indicas? I don't get this response. Must be my manic energy levels, but they make me foggy, and I'm not a fan of foggy. Sativas elevate the mind and spirit. I don't have any pain to treat, so my doses are for keeping me up there in the stratosphere where I belong. :laughtwo: I keep trying indicas, and maybe somewhere along the line I'll find one that works for me.

The next strain I have my eye on is the Mango Haze. I'm hearing wonderful reviews of it. It's definately going to be in my next seed order.

My tolerance levels are way beyond the norm. The daughter and I were comparing our euphoric experiences. She's an indica babe, and something of a lightweight. Her euphoria hits at about 10 mg of THC. Mine hits around 75-100 mg, or did until I started making this fresh harvest oil. That changed the game entirely for me, and I'm still trying to figure out what's going on.

I love the feeling of being so high that I float when I walk and everything feels bouncy. It's fascinated me that I can get this high and still function normally, or what passes for normal in my world. Lol! I haven't had but a few nights when my intent was to get high and pass out. When I sit down to get high I'm planning on hours of enjoyment and I'll keep going until I reach the point where I tumble over the edge into free fall. Right now my baseline is so elevated that I barely smoke anymore.

SS.... do you peek at your trichomes much thru a magnifying device?
I was looking at the DDA trichs yesterday and I saw the purple color actually invading the trichomes! My little usb camera died, so I can't share a photo... but wow!

Somewhere around here I have pictures of that Tead. The stalks fill with purple oil and the caps are filled with clear. When you make oil it comes out dark purple. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Here it is.

Not a great picture, but you can see what I'm talking about.

Okay, that does it! I'm going to have to run some DDA's this summer. It's a sure way to get me to spend more time in the yard. Not sure how much work I'll actually get done, though. :)

They love the outdoors. I'll expect both you and Tead to drop an occasional photo bomb on the DDA thread now. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

Good morning everyone

Another glorious day to fill with joyful expression. What a delight, eh? I hope you woke up this morning ready to engage the universe in childlike play and wonder. You know I did. :laughtwo: Gosh, I love that giggle I share when the eyes open up. Ahhhhh...... life is sweet, when you let it be.

I'm watching the CBD Critical Cure 2.1.1 progress back to veg. I feel great potential in her. It's been 56 days since she was cut from the mother and she's graduated from smooth single blades to serrated ones. Can multiple blades be far behind?

Thank you Dave Groomer, for encouraging me to try this. I do believe it's going to work successfully in my garden the same way it works in his. :blunt:

I really can't wait until I can harvest my Industrial Plant auto CBD... She still has 5 6 weeks? I'm not counting any days or weeks I'll just see today and wait for tomorrow and then see again. If the plants need anything then I'll give what they want

New thread :cheesygrinsmiley:

It's a compulsion guys. Lol! I'm trying to start a conversation with this one.

When I Started

Not sure where to put this, but knew you were at the top of the list to ask. :;):

Are there any options available to medicate before harvest day? My plants are still about 2 1/2 months away from being able to make fresh harvest oil or tinctures from bud. That's a long time to wait for any relief.

Also, is a vaporizer necessary for medical use? My lungs are a no go for smoking, but vaping is frequently mentioned for quick relief and to stack medical dosing.

Nothing wrong with "tasting" our girls a bit when they pack on some buds. Just don't exaggerate and leave some to finish. :laughtwo: I use the microwave method to quick dry and smoke it. Not the best choice but this helped me when in need.

I've done the same. It supplied the need. I like to lay teeny buds on the lights for a day then fire it up. Sometimes you make do.

Lady A, you have me thinking about the possibility of an early harvest infused oil. Hadn't considered it up to now. I'm going for a walk and think about this. I'm out of eggs and I need to get moving.

I've been thinking about this some more today, and I think I can dry some leaves and vape them. They won't be as concentrated as bud, but it's at least something. Right?

Hi Lady Antheia,

I am in the same boat. I have asthma, brought on during my formative years, from 2nd hand cigarette smoke from parents and sister until I moved out on my own. I totally understand where you are coming from. I am just starting this journey to grow my own, so am using dispensary cannabis to vape, recommended by my MMJ doctor. He also said this might not work for the long run due to my asthma, but so far so good. I bought the Firefly2. Expensive, but I like the way it works. I only use the vape about 3-4 times a day, sometimes less. I found several dispensaries in the area that have a variety of strains, tinctures (one in oil, one in alcohol) a balm, lotions, and different CBD buds to try. So, I am still experimenting until I get a harvest and can make my own oil capsules or lotion/balms.

I was diagnosed with PMR, Polymyalgia Rheumatica. It's an auto-immune disease that causes your muscles, tendons and ligaments (either in the shoulder girdle, pelvic girdle or both) to contract and is incredibly painful. I live on Prednisone for inflammation relief. But it doesn't cover all the pain and inflammation, and my docs will not increase the dosage because my adrenals are shut down (steroids are known to do this. Once I can get off of them, hopefully in a few years, my adrenals will come back on-line). Cannabis does cut the rest of the discomfort alot. But I can easily overwhelm the benefit if I get busy and forget to be careful. I don't have a constant supply to keep me in a level dosage. Dispensaries are wicked expensive. Even the Prednisone I take is 4 times a day, with its cycle of: getting into my system, working awhile, dissipating, and then I wait for the next dose, doesn't last long; five hours at best. I spend alot of time sitting because I can't lift my arms, carry anything more than a few lbs, doing laundry or dishes is very uncomfortable, somedays I just can't. Even picking up my sweet 9-10 lb. little kitteh is sometimes painful. She takes it all in stride and licks my hands and arms. Kitteh is very sensitive to my aches and pains. She will sleep on my lap, keeping me from reading or typing for several hours. She knows when I hurt. She sends alpha waves with her purrs, to help me relax.

So to answer your question, yes, I do vape, but use other methods to get cannabis into my system. The tinctures, the one in alcohol was a waste of money, it burned my mouth so bad I couldn't use it. The one in oil works great. It's a high CDB made by Brother Jonathan's (says it's 1.0 fluid ounce with 300mg cannabis oil) As long as I use it consistently, like every few hours, I don't need to vape. I also find weather related pain is common, so I vape when the oil isn't cutting it. The combo works out well. I use the roll-on balm (it's also by Brother Jonathan's) for use on the shoulder joints, clavicle and upper arm muscles. I think it works well as adjunctive therapy. My big toe that was stepped on by my horse, has the nail just growing out. I use this balm on my toe as well, and helps with the ache of one side that decided to become ingrown.

In my Muscular Therapy classes, we learned there is a tremendous amount of receptors in our feet. I took a Reflexology class while in this study. One test we did was to coat our feet in a very thin layer of Vicks Mentholated rub. Amazingly, in a few minutes we could taste the menthol. So putting Cannabis laden oil, balm, lotions would be absorbed as well. I know that using Coconut oil in my former massage practice it was incredible for helping soothe rough, dry skin. So it would stand to reason that the oils, would penetrate skin, both orally and topically to bring the Cannabis to areas of need.

I hope this helps a bit... I can get a bit wordy!

Dory

You feel free to be wordy here any time Dory, particularly when you're being so wonderfully helpful. :hugs:

Once you graduate to making your own infused oils and get on a regular schedule of capsules your life is going to change. I'm looking forward to your wordy descriptions of the relief you're going to feel when it gets dialed in.

Look! A new baby. I almost missed her. :laughtwo:

Dory,

Thank you!!!! Please, be wordy. Your description was incredibly helpful! I am dealing with similar pain issues from MS. The muscle spasticity and pain make it hard to sleep. During the day, I have all sorts of symptoms that interfere with daily life. Some of which are difficulty with pain, balance, holding items, temperature sensitivity, bladder spasms, shooting nerve pain, and brain activity similar to seizures but mine originate in the brainstem causing all sorts of issues. Prednisone is their go to drug to help the inflammation in my nervous system calm down, but we all know how awful that stuff is. Ugh.

The tegretol, tramadol, soma, hydroxyzine cocktail for bedtime is one I would relish throwing in the trash. So it is incredibly helpful to hear your report on the the alcohol based tincture. Burning of the mouth does not sound like fun. The oil is where I think I will end up for steady relief, with some edibles for long-lasting sleep help, topical cream for pain (and the feet - yes!), and vaping for breakthrough pain and brain activity.

I'm also dealing with asthma from second hand smoke growing up - had constant bronchitis and pneumonia. Finally, the doctor told my dad he had to quit or it was going to kill me. He did - cold turkey, but the damage was done. My pulmonologist has found scarring in the lungs too, but we don't know if that is from second hand smoke or my immune system attacking my organs. Oh well. End of story is that smoking is definitely out. Vaping, here I come!

Again, thank you. Your post was just the kind of thing I need.:hugs:
