SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

the new HSO blue dream CBD looks tempting (it would out grow my space quickly) it is a balanced ratio according to their site.

No way to restrain her and keep her small enough keltic? It is a challenge growing in a restricted space.

That was B A R ??? My how we change and grow here :)

There is speculation that an auto goes into flower when her taproot spreads along the bottom of the pot. Has anyone tried putting a pot with no bottom on top of a larger pot and starting from seed in a 'tower' pot?

(I love the imagery, something Dr. Seuss would do.)

I bet one could do a 2 liter on top of a one gallon milk jug as a two story hempy.

Enjoy your well cured Carnival - I'm 2 months away from my first Carnival harvest - thanks so much for getting me going in that direction :)

As for a two story hempy goes I've done that when I felt I would need more space for a longer veg. Never done it with a auto but it works out decent for photo girls. I would basically cut off the bottom of a 2L hempy and plop it in a cut in half (roughly) gallon jug with a new drain hole. The plants I've done that to get pretty bushy with minor cutting/training.

Thank you for that lexort. :hugs: I'll keep this in mind with this Candy Cane I have going. She has the potential to be huge, if handled right. My goal is to find out how big I can get them in hempy. I mean, look at this baby go! :cheesygrinsmiley:

My Carnival, creeping up on 60 days and a week from being flipped. Yesterday I moved her into the temporary empty space left by the harvested DDA.

What causes this light tip on the leaves? Anybody know? :hmmmm:

She's looking very nice! Sturdy and beautifully green! Here is a girl I had to make into a double decker hempy, she was in like a liter container and I ended up needing more root space so she got plopped in a cut down gallon jug.

How does the water in the mix and in the plant material vent from the pressure cooker? I have no experience with this type of cooking mechanism, so any insight one can offer would be greatly appreciated. I haven't ordered the pressure cooker yet. I want to understand this before I make such a large investment.

That's an interesting question and one to ponder. The reason most people use a pressure cooker is because it keeps moisture in while cooking and makes the items tender. There is a valve on the top that lets out steam to regulate the pressure inside. Given enough time, the water could leave the pressure cooker via the steam valve. That's probably the reason for the small amount of water in PsyCro's instructions. Too much water would probably make for a soupy mess or the need to overcook to evaporate the water. The result of overcooking would most likely be a terribly bitter taste.

O and btw cause I missed your question about the leaf tips, it looks like a little nute burn so maybe give a watering with only about 1tsp/per gallon and see how she does.

She's planted with Osmo Plus lexort. :hmmmm: I'll have to be more attentive to dispersion of the pellets, I think. I used 6 grams in the pot. That might be a bit excessive, but I think it's more likely I've got an area of concentration.

With capsules tast is a non issue. Thanks for the insight Lady A. I can see how this would work. I'll take the CBD Critical Cure tomorrow, but I'll do it without a pressure cooker, because I want to test the water bath decarb. I'm trying to avoid purchasing yet another piece of equipment.

I am sure. I just dont have the confidence in me. My fear is it running into the lights when I am not home. I dropped strain a that will possibly test my training yesterday. I have no info on it size wise, it is a multi hybrid, ya know the stuff the kids are into these days. (triple purple rhino). It should be a confidence builder for me in the train game.

I meant to drop this on ya the other day not sue if you have seen anything like it yet.
A local plant DNA testing place plans to do a CBD dna analysis test
. It will let ya know if your plant will express, for examlple; 1.high thc and low cbd, 2. mixed thc and cbd, 3. High CBD and low thc.
It is still in the testing phase, they say they are looking for examples high in CBD to validate the test right now.
... I plan on using them to try a boy v girl test here at some point. I can get the test packet at a local hydro store.
I always forget if I can drop links....if ya wanna look... farmer & freeman cbdna..... they do XY DNA test as well

I have not done it yet, so just for info at this point. But pretty cool if ya need a CBD and are not sure. Not sure if they will be able to give percentages or just one of the 3 categories.

Always looking .........

I had forgotten about the capsules, so you're right. I don't think there would be any taste issue. Maybe a little heartburn if there were too many concentrated acids? Don't know; I'm just mulling things over in my mind.

Completely off-topic, but I posted a pic of my canine companion in my grow journal if you want to see him.

I've been doing 5 or 5.5 grams/2L.
Heat ramps up nute levels in Osmo+ as well, so putting it in a cooler location in the garden could drop nutrient percentages.
Of course, that's some pretty minor leaf tip action I'd probably just ignore. When she grows larger and hits bloom, she'll feed heavier and you'll be golden.
Keep an eye on the new growth for further signs of burning.

Thanks Tead. So far new growth looks stellar. I'm not going to move her to a bigger pot. I want to see what she can do where she is. The first Carnival I grew in a hempy was Emerald, and she didn't get this big. I'm obviously more comfortable with the process after a few tries. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Thank you for the alert Lady A. :hugs: I'll swing by and check him out. :battingeyelashes: I sometimes get busy at the med threads and miss the action over here if someone doesn't clue me in, and I so enjoy the interpersonal action in the grow journals. It's this important connection that makes us all extended family.

I've never had a problem with heartburn with canna caps, and I've taken them at a multitude of strains and strengths. What you may get is a little bit of a sour stomach for a couple minutes as the capsules break open in the stomach and spill the contents. Thankfully it passes quickly, followed by waves of euphoria, with the right meds.

Time for a walk along the river. I have a traditional birthday celebration to attend to for a friend that necessitates a stroll to the labyrinth. Before I wander off for a couple hours I wanted to encourage you all to find your joy where you can and share it generously with all you meet.

Life is a sweet journey of joyful expression if you let it be, and I'm gonna be right here encouraging you every step of the way. :battingeyelashes:

I opted for a brownie on the way out. After all, it's a birthday celebration for a man who appreciates a good buzz. :cheesygrinsmiley: like I need a reason....... Lol!

I started the day chopping DDA6 at 8 AM. Washed her and hung her to dry. Took care of the rest of the garden and then went to work processing her. Somewhere in the course of the day I took a couple breaks to tend to domestic chores and walk to the store for the daughter, but the entire rest of the day was devoted to making the oil, reclaiming the oil bound up in the plant waste material, and cleaning up after the fact.

It's coming up on 11:30 PM and I'm finally done, and have the chance to sample the two tiny pieces I accidentally clipped last night pulling fans and left to dry on the heat sinks. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I honestly don't understand where the characterization of "lazy stoner" came from. This has always been my reaction to cannabis. Being high makes me more productive.

Yea, I was just thinking about that stereotype today. My wife has given up trying to get me to relax. It may be our love of sativa over indica that makes that happen, but whatever it is, I'm way more productive when I smoke than when I don't. It keeps me interested and engaged in what I'm doing.

Hmmm....
Tead has 2Ls.... Tead has much taller 6" round PVC pots.... Tead has auto seeds.... Tead has a built in curiosity and a need to kick tires for himself.
Plus, I know allot about Tweedle Beetles and their warlike ways!

I've seen a few puddle paddle battles myself (not with poodles, thankfully.)

Growing up I would see steam pouring out of the pressure cooker and yet my mom would haul out a wet goopy mess of what used to be brocolli. I've seen a pressure cooker used many times, but I've never seen one used well.

There is definitely an art to it. The biggest mistake most people make is overcooking...well, everything. Broccoli is a great example because it can overcook so easily. Once the pressure is reached, it should cook for approximately 60 seconds. Then I push down the quick release valve to bring the pressure down. What most don't realize is that it's still cooking as the pressure comes down. So for something as delicate as broccoli, the cooking time just doubled.

Interesting read. I think I'll hold off on the pressure cooker for a while. It's occurred to me that it would be beneficial if I learned to do this process on the stove first. Not everyone will have a pressure cooker, and it'll be invaluable to have the kinks all worked out of stovetop production, possibly work out some tricks.

For instance, it occurred to me that one of the difficulties in making the oil is getting everything mashed up in that small quantity of oil per bud. Well, if what I'm doing is boiling off the water, why not add additional water in the beginning to make it easier to blend into a mash, then boil that off too?

Watching Shiggity do the decarb with a water bath instead of the smelly and dangerous oil bath lit a fire under me. I want to get this process nailed down. Oh!! I just remembered the DDA oil is still in the refrigerator. :laughtwo: How sweet.... I have so much on hand I completely forgot about getting capsules made. Better get to it. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Green Flower Media had a class I missed tonight on the ECS 101. I'll catch it tomorrow through my Insider account, but I caught the tail end of the Q&A session that follows the class. They were talking about making the switch to a vaporizer from smoking. It appears this problem many of us have with not getting high enough to satisfy our personal needs is a common occurance that will typically fade away somewhere around 3 weeks of only vaping. Then the system switches the euphoric experience and you begin to prefer the high you get from vaping over smoking.

Made me think. I have some very nice vaporizers to play with and none of them get me as high as the water pipe. I don't know if I'd have the patience myself to make a shift. I'm more of an edibles girl. Give me my capsules and an occasional brownie and I'm a happy, happy girl. :battingeyelashes:

I have been looking to start CBD oil vaping for home entertain-ment. I just wanna try to see if I can hack it. Most vape and smoke is not good with me, till I tried some CBD in Colorado. So i want to revisit it sometime, I am thinking of a pen.

So do you have a Kind pen, if i recall? I was looking at the kind pen V2. i just dunno. gonna go to a local store see if they have any i can hold and look at., actually i have 2 stores i can walk to.
It is hard for me as a nincompoop to make any decision.

keltic, it makes me smile when I hear you talk about yourself like that. :hugs:

Yes I have a Kind pen and I highly recommend it. Aside from the concentrates pen it's the only vaporizer I have that I really enjoy using. It's notable that although I don't use it very often it wasn't the one I offered the BIL for experimenting with. :laughtwo: I'm keeping it on hand for my own use, occasional though that may be.

It nice that you can so easily amp up the heat by simply hitting the button one more time.
