SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

I f'n LOVE growing cannabis!!!! :yahoo:

She's gonna give me more than 18 grams. :battingeyelashes:

Alright girl, back to work. :slide:

Nice branch!!

Sue, quick question....what sequence do you go in as far as dipping. Please use the H2O2 in the sequence as well. My logic tells me the cold water should be last, but I want to ensure I have the full sequence correct please.

If you use peroxide that would be the first bucket, and it can be a regular bucket. We use food-grade for the first step because we add the lemon juice and baking soda to that bucket.

The white food grade bucket starts the sequence for a normal run (without the concern of mold or mildew), filled with hot. My second bucket is the cold, and the final bucket is tepid.

Honestly, the temperature of the water is a personal idiosyncratic habit. You'll get clean buds with water at room temperature, so you can set the whole thing up the night before and save yourself time on harvest day.

CBD Critical Cure 2.1: Harvest Totals

The apical cola. This girl was dense and finely formed.

So , I ended up with 47 grams wet to go into the refrigerator for some low and slow drying.......

IMG_70508.JPG

IMG_70518.JPG

....and 300 grams to be processed into harvest oil.

IMG_70547.JPG

347 grams wet will be approx. 69.4 grams dry, or 2.48 ounces. Not bad girl, not bad. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Taking a short break to stretch a bit before I go to work on the oil. I'm following Shiggity's lead and doing this one with a water bath instead of using oil.

I love your process in harvesting Sue! I'm going to have to take a few notes and maybe make me a batch!

I do have a question for you...

I have several plants in my flower tent that I watered the other night with mid flowering mixed nutes. They are showing nitrogen deficiency, much more than I would like this early in flowering. Would suggest watering them with a stronger nitrogen mix now or just let them be until next water where I could go back to early flowering mix or just add a shot of fish fertilizer 5-1-1?? Please gimme some advice!

ET, I wish I had an answer for you, but you're standing in the room of a woman smart enough to be running with Doc Bud's HBB Kit soil, and deficiencies are something I know nothing about. Even with hempies I went with the easiest method, using Osmo Plus instead of bottled nutrients.

I do know that giving nitrogen in bloom isn't something that's done without caution. How far into bloom are the girls effected? Are you sure it's not just necrosis leaves being eaten up by the blossoms? Mine begin to do this after about a month into flowering.

A am about a 30 days in flower...I've checked soil pH and I'm sitting @ 6.3. I'm about 95% sure that it's nitrogen deficiency. I believe I will just water tomorrow with my normal mid flower nutrient mix and add a tap per gallon of the fish fertilizer 5-1-1 on the affected plants and see how it goes

30 days into flower isn't bad for nitrogen deficiency to start. You're a little over half way. My last grow I had two plants yellowing in 3rd week, one to the point I didn't think I'd harvest much. A slight increase in feedings slowed the problem until just before harvest. one plant set personal best for yield and quality, the other did well for the strain also.
A small one-time boost with fish fertilizer is a good idea. It's a form of N that helps stimulate flowering. But remember that usually less is more during flower. Next run you'll know to increase N during veg phase to help carry plant through most of flower and still use it up by harvest.

Thank you KR. :hugs: I knew someone in this room would be able to help ET.

which light was this under Sue?

She was under one of the Citizen kits Hash Hound. She came down on Day 97, 54 days from flip. The hempy Carnival replaced her in the tent.

IMG_702111.JPG

I forgot to take a clone before lights out. I'll grab a cutting tomorrow and bag it up.

I finished the oil and got most of it cleaned up and decided I needed a coffee, so I walked down to Starbuck's for a Grande' Cafe Mocha. :cheesygrinsmiley: This felt like a good place to wrap up the day and get the updates done, except I just realized I don't have my notes with me, so I guess I'll simply enjoy my coffee and share a few pictures while we talk. I'll do the data update in the morning.

Tent #1, flip + 35. I'll be shifting things tomorrow. My plan was to split these two up at this point and put a hempy in each tent. I didn't get that done before lights out. Oil production takes a lot of time. Time I thoroughly enjoy, I'll admit. The decarb process is fascinating to watch up close and personal, even if it is hard on the knees to stand out there for that many hours. I can't tear myself away. Lol!

I'll be doing a post at the study hall later about what to watch for when you make the fresh harvest oil. This time I remembered to take better photos.

Carnival 3 (Day 84) is a stocky little one, frantically packing the buds on under the cover of the fans.

CBD Critical Cure 2.2 (Day 75) Next drench will be tomorrow. It's time to get these girls their recharge and CATs. I guess I get to be the one to demonstrate what happens when you do the CATs rediculously late.

IMG_701610.JPG

Looking awfully foxy, isn't she? :battingeyelashes:

IMG_70209.JPG

Tent #2 has a new flip, Carnival 4, and an old resident, Candy Cane.

Carnival 4 (Day 59) I'll get her clone cutting in the morning. She got watered today with the other two hempies. She shows great promise. :battingeyelashes:

IMG_70229.JPG

Candy Cane (Day 13) Doing fine where she is, but she'll be transplanted tomorrow into her finish pot. I'm fixing up a vinegar bottle for her. Wider base offering more stability and a little more root space. This one can get huge, under the right conditions. She'll outgrow that 2 ltr in no time flat.

IMG_70236.JPG

IMG_70249.JPG

The Veg Shelf. Looks nice in there, doesn't it? Makes me smile mightily to look in. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_70256.JPG

No appearance by Thin Mint Cookies yet. I know the seed split and started to grow roots, because I peeked in yesterday and backed out quickly. Possibly by tomorrow, but whenever she decides to arrive is fine with me.

IMG_70267.JPG

CBD Critical Cure 2.2.1 (Day 21) has started to throw off those wonky leaves you get when you force them back to veg. She was going all frosty there.
IMG_70277.JPG

IMG_70284.JPG

There's the growth we've been waiting for. :slide:

IMG_7029.PNG

CBD Critical Cure 2.1.1 (Day 54) Ready to be transplanted. I'll probably get that done tomorrow.

IMG_70308.JPG

IMG_70316.JPG

She's maintaining a nice level canopy.

IMG_703211.JPG

Ultra Dawg (Day 21) I'm just leaving her alone, as per Tead's suggestion. I want to see her natural the first time anyway.

IMG_70338.JPG

IMG_70348.JPG

IMG_70365.JPG

Carnival 3.1 (Day 21) She never missed a beat. I think this may be the most beautifully structured Carnival I've started to date.

IMG_70375.JPG

IMG_70387.JPG

She went straight back into veg, like the champion she's meant to be. :battingeyelashes:

IMG_70396.JPG

The Tiny Closet has one lonely occupant, Dark Devil Auto 7 (Day 96). She's definately going to break the 100 day mark. :yahoo: I don't know why that excites me so. :laughtwo: Tomorrow I'll fill the empty spot with a Devil's Carnival seed.

IMG_70406.JPG

Change is accelerating. She'll be down in about a week, from the look of her.

IMG_70415.JPG

IMG_70428.JPG

I swear, they're blacker with ever one I grow.

IMG_70437.JPG

IMG_70447.JPG

IMG_70455.JPG

That's the nickle tour. Thank you so much for stopping to share my joy. No get out there and have a marvelous weekend. I'm about ready to head for home. Think I'll make that a slow, relaxed stroll. I can't even believe how high I am, and that I can continue to function like this while I'm soaring. :laughtwo: Between the Dark Devil fresh oil capsule I tested out and all the utensils I cleaned up while making the CBD Critical Cure oil...... I was moving fast on the way down, needing the big muscle movement and coffee were great motivation. I'm more buzzed and more relaxed. It'll be a nice walk.

I'll be catching up in the yards while I play around with some thread ideas. Yes, you heard that right, another thread in the wings. :laughtwo: There's no end to the possibilities. Lol!

:Namaste:

CBD Critical Cire 2.1: The Haul

She blessed me with 350 ml of good, clean oil, and a third cup of oil with some water in it.

IMG_70943.JPG

Rather than work any more of the water out (it's mostly oil) I decided to use it in the next batch of bath salts I make.

I also got 47 grams wet in buds drying in the refrigerator (the jar in the back) and the waste water from the reclaimation effort went in with the left-overs from DDA6.

IMG_70518.JPG

IMG_70955.JPG

All in all a good yield. That's enough to get us over the top with plenty for all four of us.

A good days work. Time for a soak in a medicated bath. I could get really used to this therapy. :battingeyelashes:

Hiya Sue!!! Congrats on the harvests and the oil!!! Beautiful!!! Hugsss. Great job!! :thumb: :volcano-smiley:

Nice harvest, Sue! :cheertwo::green_heart:

Why thank you Lady A. :hugs: Nothing feels quite as satisfying as getting the job done and done well. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Hiya Sue!!! Congrats on the harvests and the oil!!! Beautiful!!! Hugsss. Great job!! :thumb: :volcano-smiley:

Thank you Scottay. :hugs: it made for a long day that I'm still recovering from, and then I had a very busy day catching up with the rest of the girls.

IMG_71068.JPG

Switched the occupants of the tents around. Both Carnivals now share space....

IMG_709910.JPG

..... and Candy Cane and CBD Critical Cure 2.2 are now roommates. Carn 3 and CBD CC 2.2 both got the recharge topping and their first CAT.

IMG_71006.JPG

I remembered to clone Carnival 4....

IMG_71028.JPG

....filled the pot for the Devil's Carnival.....

IMG_71074.JPG

IMG_71047.JPG

......and upcanned the CBD Critical Cure 2.1.1 into 7 gallons. I'm now out of first run soil. Time to scrape together funds for more soil building supplies.

IMG_71086.JPG

And...... I started the new thread on the fresh harvest oil. :slide:

I'm testing out the DDA fresh oil capsules today and interestingly enough they aren't as potent as the ones made with the more balanced ratio of the CBD Critical Cure. They are, however, more potent than regular infused oil, and I am most pleasantly buzzed.

Now to find some way to entertain myself for the afternoon. Lol! I think a walk with this delightful buzz is called for. I think I've earned some reward time, don't you? :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

Ok people, you know the drill. Joy. Let it bubble over. Spread it far and wide. I'm doing my part over here on the banks of the Mighty Mon. I have faith in you. :hugs:

ET, in reference to our conversation about nitrogen loss in flower, may I offer the way a more seasoned cultivator responds to such a situation? I opened the tent this morning to find this

IMG_70967.JPG

I did this to her by messing up her drench schedules and her flowering schedule, then flushing to clean up my mess. The flush washed out anything in the soil she would normally be pulling on. Experience teaches me not to panic or go overboard in response. Always remember, with cannabis less is more. I pulled her out to clean off the worst of the leaves, gave her a Recharge topping that included a generous helping of EWC and a little more new soil to cover it all over.

IMG_70976.JPG

Then I set her back in her spot and gave her the next drench in rotation, her very late CAT.

IMG_70986.JPG

What you learn as you go on is they're incredibly resilient plants that will get to harvest if you don't drop something on them and smash them to smitherines. In fact there's a technique in the wild and hidden outdoor gardens where you toss a piece of the grid used in concrete construction on top of a vegging plant to knock her down to the ground and force her to spread. A maverick type of scrog LST. Lol!

There's very little that you can do to kill one of these beauties off. I quickly learned to develop an attitude of nonchalance that's served my plants well. Thankfully, you have an entire community on your side. Your harvest is in good hands.

Getting ready to take a walk after all that gardening and such, and I looked up thinking "What time is it?"

IMG_71095.JPG

Catch you all later. :ciao:

Came home and reclaimed the soil from the recent harvest.

IMG_71107.JPG

It was one big ball of roots, right out to the edges.

IMG_71117.JPG

IMG_71129.JPG

IMG_711310.JPG

IMG_71149.JPG

This dirt-encrusted hand is attached to a very happy camper. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_71158.JPG

Added some earthworm castings, a nice handful of leaves and about 3/4 gallon of water. It's all broken up into fine particulate matter and packed away to cook for the next month.

IMG_71167.JPG

Now I think I'll reinforce the soaring buzz with a few hoots of Carnival and spend some time surfing the yards. :slide:

I did the same thing today, Sue! After planting five 3 gallon bins, I had room to recycle a harvested 5 gallon pot. I love the feel of the soil after the roots are cut up and castings have been added!

:circle-of-love:

:circle-of-love:

Soil management is still something I need to get my head wrapped around. Time to cook a new batch of soil, and I've thrown myself out of sequence. I have a DDA coming down this week, and no new soil to replace it with. All of the cooking soil needs more time. AWK!

It's as much a matter of space as anything. In this tiny apartment the grow keeps taking up more and more real estate. :laughtwo:

Keeping the soil stocked will take me a few more months of trial and error. It'd be so much easier if I did straight runs instead of a perpetual, but I like the constancy of the perpetual, and the fact that you have all stages represented. I seem to have a deep need to always have plants in all the stages at all times. It locks you in though. One can't hope to become a globe-trotter and run a perpetual. Well, with enough money on hand I bet you could. Lol!
