SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

I am stunned at the potency of this fresh harvest oil I made. This stuff rivals CCO. For the past three days I've deliberately put off the brownie dose at breakfast, coasting only on this magnificent buzz. I'd been taking the brownie dose directly after, and the 75 mg of potentiated THC in one of those overrode the effects of these capsules. Yesterday I didn't have a brownie until evening, and only because I love the brownies taste and that mega buzz is.......... Yeah. :laughtwo:

Today I had a few small hits of the low and slow dried CBD Critical Cure, but other than that it's only been the capsule I had this morning. In fact, I'm still so buzzed that I almost didn't take the one scheduled for now, but thought better of it. I've decided that from now on my harvests will all be processed into oil on the day of harvest, with a small amount dried in the refrigerator.

Somewhere along the way someone with testing access will get excited about this oil recipe and get some tested so we can have some idea about the differences in product. That's a way off, and has to be coordinated, but someday it'll happen that we have a test of the bud, a test of fresh oil and a test of the same plant made into regular CCO. I'm not waiting until then. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

I keep stopping, looking around, and saying "I am soooo high!" Life is beyond sweet.

Man! That's a powerfully tasty burp. :laughtwo:

Hey SweetSue,

I have to ask you about the CBD Critical Cure. First - I'm getting to the point where I'll need a pain med (66 and still active). Second - you mentioned the smoke was very nice. I'm hoping you might expand on that a little. Third - I remember when it was growing was such a beautiful lady. I'd be proud to grow a strain like that.

Yes, this stop is the most pleasant journal to visit. Thank you girl for sending so much positive energy about the cosmos.

capsules - capSOULs = you can't live without it. ;)

Yeah.... I hope I'm not coming off as pushy around the forum. The capsule regimen works so well to keep a consistent dose of cannabinoids in the body, I have a hard time being quiet about it. Most, if not all of us are cannabinoid deficient.

You know, it took me until I was 63 to develop a personal relationship with my soul. I've always treated it with respect, but I find it much more satisfying to actually speak to that part of me that goes beyond this fragile body. I speak to it and it speaks back with inspiration and guidance. Not a bad gig. :cheesygrinsmiley:

It's not that you'll need a pain med - stop saying that to yourself :battingeyelashes: - it's that at 66 you need CBD to reduce any inflammation that may be trying to take residence in your body. Are you taking at least 1000 units of omega-3 fish oil a day? A probiotic with at least 50 billion cultures? A magnesium supplement? These three additions to your life will greatly support your ECS, the healing force that keeps inflammation at bay.

There was no harshness to the smoke at all, you sweet talker. :kisstwo: I grow with Doc Bud's HB kit and that lends a certain mellowness to the smoking experience. It's uncommon for our plants to be harsh. But she has a wonderfully savory smell and taste, almost like a delicious dinner set in front of you. :laughtwo:

This strain is easy to grow, easy to clone and my experience has been bountiful harvests that can adequately supply my patient load. I've grown so fond of the strain that I'm sitting here now smelling the clone sitting under the Timber COBs on the other side of the room, salivating. Lol! At her small stature she's overpowering the fragrance of my DDA finishing her bloom cycle. :laughtwo:

And..... mine grew hash tips. :slide: I hope that happens under the Timbers. My feeling is that it's a strain characteristic. We'll see sometime this month.

You will love this strain. I expect you to share her beauty in the CBD Joy thread when you get one going. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

Good morning everyone

In our ongoing attempt to bring joy into your life on a daily basis the girls wanted to greet you too. :cheesygrinsmiley:

FINALLY, ready for a drink. :laughtwo: Nothing like taking almost two weeks to go dry the first time in flower. :laughtwo: Now the game starts in ernest. :cheesygrinsmiley:

My Low and Slow drying of the CBD Critical Cure is complete enough to allow me to test a small bud. The first thing you notice with this method is how they look just like they did when I harvested. No change of color at all, and after they come back to room temperature the smell is very akin to harvest day as well. I'm much impressed. When it's completely up to room temp I'll seal the jar up.

Did you trim and put it in the fridge on harvest day? Ok, hang it like normal to dry first? I've got a couple plants I'm testing this out on and I hung mine for the normal time before I trimmed it. I'm getting the impression that you jarred yours the day you cut it. It's amped up the taste, but mine looks about like I would expect it after having it in jars for a week.

Yes, Morglie, it was cut from the branch directly into the jar and dropped into the fridge. I washed the buds and let them drip-dry for four hours before trimming them off. If you hang it to dry first, as normal, you lose up to half the monoterpenes and much of the flavonoids, which determine color. We don't yet understand what benefit the flavonoids can offer, since the practice up to now has been to hang and dry for up to a week.

Have you noticed any increase in the potency of the euphoric experience? I definately found that to be true in all three strains that I've tried like this so far.

Two weeks of cure was not long enough in my refrigerator. Adding more time.

I was just explaining to Canyon at the study hall that you get faster drying if you cut the buds down to size. This is how I cut mine down, and they were good to go at two weeks.

It is probable my refrigerator is comparatively humid. Even though it is frost free, we have sliced watermelon, pineapple and an open top bowl of grapes in the fridge right now :)

The Amherst Sour Diesel I am refrigerator drying grew 'dispensary sized' so there I just tossed them in there. I sampled a dime sized bud yesterday and it was still wet.

In contrast, many of the Bubba's Gift buds I harvested today are larger than a ping pong ball. They will probably shrink :)

Nice buds Rad. :high-five: How long has the ASD been in the fridge? They may take longer, but they will dry.

Do you keep the Boveda in there with them?

ASd was in the fridge for 2 weeeks. Then I got them out for sampling. I planned to put them back in the fridge, but we just had our big monthly shoping trip. The drawer I had been using filled up with wine and spritzers. The boveda pack is until I move stuff around and find another place to store the bud.

The family likes to pack a refrigerator like I pack a freezer, and then it's out of sight, out of mind. I like to be able to see everything in there without moving things.

The drying time does not concern me very much. The longer drying time may produce a better cure. The stems would add some time too. Ghost train already has small buds. The stems help provide some space around the buds and more air to defuse the moisture. I have not proven this yet, but I think laying the jars horizontally may allow the buds to dry faster than upright.

If someone can make a small batch of LSL and water, they could boil off the water, weigh it and do the math for an extraction ratio. With the ability to use the remains, there would not need to be a real high recovery percentage to make it worth using the method.

I don't have the extra buds to try a batch until I harvest another plant in about three weeks.

Trying it with fresh buds and air drying at room temperature with a fan may be worth exploring,

I never know

You know more than you let on. :kisstwo:

I hadn't considered the value of leaving them on the stems if you have time to let them go as long as they need without chopping them down to size.

Yeah..... The infused canna water idea is intriguing, is it not? Not something I'd have thought to try, had Oldbear not begun experimenting. I'll have to play a bit when I get the next harvest in. Right now I need to keep what I have on hand for patients. I'm partial to methods that use all of the plant material. I hate the idea of losing cannabinoids.

I slowly air-dry my trimmed-out buds for a couple days, then test them for moisture with a hygrometer in a sealed tupperware. When they get close to 60%, I jar them and let them cure in the refrigerator, with one or two Boveda paks in the jars to maintain the moisture. I think this slows down the cure a lot and helps preserve the cannabinoids.

Other than gently shaking them a bit the first day or two, I don't burp them, unless they stick together. I like them to tumble loosely in the jar.

I also cure the tiny buds and trim. Makes for better herbs, whether or not we decarb them before baking, or added directly to a chili or pasta dinner.

The ground leaves I store on the shelf, and, because the leaves were completely dry before grinding, I don't worry about mold. 1/4 cup ground leaves in a pot of chili can lay you out flat, depending, of course, on how much you eat. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Well Sue, now its 12th of may here in the Netherlands which means it's my birthday! So with that said we can leave that to the side .

Anyway! So, first of all I bought again some new seeds from GYO seeds and I know I ordered some diesel auto seeds, some regular Aurora Indica seeds and I forgot the rest already... I just can't stop buying seeds! It's so fun. I also planted my Ayahuasca Purple and that is apperently one hell of a difficult strain to grow which is nice so I can put myself to the test! I'll update my own journal in the evening when I get back so I can show you guys my plants but first I meed to go to work! I like working!

So next! The surgeries went well, the worst part is over I just have 1 appointment next week and then I'm done! That's nice! So guys, have a nice day or have a nice weekend already and stay safe!

Glad to hear the surgeries went well. Stay hydrated. :battingeyelashes:  I'm looking forward to watching you grow that Ayahuasca Purple. She'll teach you a lot, I'm sure.

That makes sense about only having it drip dry to preserve the terps. I was thinking it would be to moist at that point, but it would appear not. The potency is good on it, but this is a strain I've been improving on each time, so it's hard to tell. It's also, the only hybrid I have going to compare to compare against all my sativas I smoke, so it's kind of skewed in my perception as well.

I'm cutting another purple Malawi in a couple of weeks. That one I've been consistent with every time so it should make a better comparison. And it will amp up the already incredible flavor. And if the potency kicks up, damn..... 😁

Thanks Sue! Have a wonderful one!

OMG... I wish we lived down the street from each other. :laughtwo: The members laughed at Ziggy when he presented it to us. He's looking more genius than normal, isn't he? You're gonna be very impressed Morglie. I look forward to your report on the finished product.

I was initially concerned about moisture from the wash too, but that wasn't a problem in my case. Give it all the time it needs, and try to leave it alone. I think the keys are to get the humidity and temp close to that range of 39 degrees and 35% RH. My fridge varies slightly. I didn't find that to be a problem.

Be forewarned, it will be fragrant. :cheesygrinsmiley:
