SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

Now be being a total idiot to the world of LED's,,, but I do understand max light per foot,, but these ones I see ya'll using,,, how much per light and 'heat sink' and ballast cost complete store bought? And whats the lifespan average? I've been seeing LED wattage creeping up to damn near HID wattage as far as actual power draws, with the same footprint coverage. I kind of figgure ya''ll'd know,, Keepem Green

Oh Woody, you haven't been around me long enough. Most people decide they want lights, so they research and learn these things you ask me of. That's not how it works in my world. I won the first light and saw what it did for my plants as compared to all the other great lights I also won.

You see a pattern here Woody? :battingeyelashes:

I loved that Timber Vero 240 and my plants loved it too. I was so enthusiastic about my love of the light and the potential of the technology that Dan himself became entranced, and, seeing the other work I do here, wanted to make my life more brilliant with the addition of lights I'd only dared dream of.

I've never looked into the data. I've seen the results with my own eyes, and I'll be harvesting my first plant grown entirely under the Timber COBs in another month or so. Can you tell I'm excited? :slide: I can tell you my electrical usage dropped when I shifted all the lights to the Timber COBs. The electric company sends me a weekly email that shows a noticable drop.

That trend towards higher and higher wattage LEDs until they reach HID wattge levels has been what has been keeping me from purchasing LEDs. Now if I see that 250W of COBs produces bud like 600W of HPS - thats a reason to switch. I haven't seen it yet, but maybe by this summer :)

Had the Devils out for a drink. Good grief, are they pretty! I had to share. :cheesygrinsmiley:

DDA6, on the right, stands about 14" high. DDA7 shot up to 18". It's Day 65, which means if they were following the original breeder recommendations they'd be coming down today. :laughtwo: Not gonna happen for another couple weeks.

You're right Tead, it's very obvious. Lol! I believe this is my first time growing one with this strong a sativa profile. She's fascinating to me. May she give a bounteous harvest.

Wow! Watch how much of her stains purple by the time I do the next weekly update on Friday.

DDA6, almost to the finish line. She's got some bulking up to do in the next two weeks.

I never had any with variegated leaves either. I find it adds interest to an already interesting plant. :battingeyelashes:

The sweetest looking pair of DDAs I've grown to date IMO. This light is making my plants look incredible!

In essence, the goal is to self-administer consistent, measurable doses of a CBD-rich remedy that includes as much THC as a person is comfortable with.

The Biphasic Effect

Cannabis compounds have biphasic properties, which means that low and high doses of the same substance can produce opposite effects. Small doses of cannabis tend to stimulate; large doses sedate. Too much THC, while not lethal, can amplify anxiety and mood disorders. CBD has no known adverse side effects at any dose, but drug interactions can be problematic. An excessive amount of CBD could be less effective therapeutically than a moderate dose. “Less is more” is often the case with respect to cannabis therapy.

The part that caught my brain was "Small doses of cannabis tend to stimulate; large doses sedate."

That set me to wondering if my most productive times were fueled by smaller rates of consumption. Now with me that'd be difficult to ascertain, because I stay pretty far up there most of the time. My personal experience is I keep moving at higher doses, it's just that my brain might be doing a few other things as the euphoria escalates. I may be a wee bit easier to distract with shiny things. :laughtwo:

I don't play with heavy equipment and I'm cautious about working with hot oils. It's wide open from there as to how much I consume. I have multiple options and oft times there's crossover.

Aside from the brownies I made with my first harvest, using 14 grams of sugar leaves instead of my normal 8 grams of bud, I don't recall a buzz slowing me down at all. That one scared the shit out of me. When people talk about THC overdose I know what they mean. Thankfully, I was educated enough to know it would pass, and after a couple hours it did settle to manageable levels.

So guys, when you're getting ready to do some chore and you're going to allow yourself to have a few hits first, how many does "a few" come out to?

Looking good Sue. They are just beautiful.

Cheers.

Thank you Ditch. Good lighting, good soil, great genetics. All I do is drench and spray. Now that I'm growing with the Osmo - thank you Tead - life got even easier.

Sure do love this hobby we obsess over. :battingeyelashes:

I just had my very first real smoke and daaaammmn that Durban Poison of mine is some nice stuff. I'm just a bit lightheaded and my reaction is a bit quicker than normal which is interesting. But yeah, I'll have to tell Spooks about this!

I'm doin my watering routine late today, and I've totally been trying to figure some way to make it easier... and then your words tumble along and Tead chuckles a bit. Had to share.

Glad to bring a smile Tead. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I've been comparing the differences between CBD Critical Cures. The pictures are in sequence, CBDCC2 followed by CBDCC2.1, then repeating. The pictures of the previous girl were taken right before I discovered the mites, at about the same stage of development this current girl is at.

The previous girl was started under the Timber Vero 240 and flowered under the Budmaster. The current girl has spent her entire life under the Timber COBs.

The new plant is much bushier and compact. I didn't train this one open in the same way, but she looks like she's gonna fill her branches in nicely enough to come at least to the same harvest level.

She's looking a little yellow to me guys, which may be the lights, although everything else about her says healthy. Should I be concerned about this? Her next drench will be Saturday, so if there's anything I can do for her this would be an excellent time to point it out. :battingeyelashes:

She has some lower leaves developing these spots. I have no idea what's causing this. I'm attempting to track it down now, but haven't found anything that matches it yet.

What do you all think? Any ideas?

The residue and the shape kinda make me think of nute spill on the leaves.

Thank you Tead. That's exactly what I was hoping it might be.

Hiiii Sue!!! Hugs. I love seein both phenotypes represent themselves in those two plants. Both gorgeous though!!! Now the indica dominant one.....will reflect indica in the buzz from it?? Just wondering as its DDA. Will be interesting to see/hear. The new lights are awesommeee. :volcano-smiley:

I don't know that that quote applies equally to sativa and indica - neither does your final question.

For sativa, I take as many hits as I am likely to enjoy.
For indica, I take the minimum hits to make me feel happy.

Had to share the irony.

I'm watching the Green Flower class on Cannabis Therapeutics I missed on Tuesday and Martin Lee, the co-founder of Project CBD is discussing the history of the plant. He gets to Reagan.....

Reagan fired up the War on Drugs and funded the studies that were intended to prove how damaging the Devil Weed was to the human body. What they ended up doing was to inadvertently fuel the research pathway that ultimately revealed the presence of the ECS. They discovered in their fumbling for a way to once and for all vilify this plant that cannabinoids are neural protectors.

Consider if you will the brilliant cosmic orchestration that had the only president known to hold office while falling into the neural degeneration that is Alzheimer's uncovering the neuroprotective properties of the plant he'd never have thought to use as a healing modality.

Nixon and his hate laid such an evil foundation and they've been trying to shore it up, rather unsuccessfully, ever since. But Reagan.....well, that was like watching karma catch up, wasn't it? How sad for them, to deliberately choose to be so closed-minded.

Going back to my class now. I love listening too Martin Lee. :battingeyelashes:

I've been pondering the Agnew event recently.
He was apparently guilty of silly-small corruption.
I dunno. I know Nixon wanted to have a VP that looked really bad so that the American public wouldn't impeach him in fear of putting an idiot VP in charge. This was captured on tape.
I can't help but wonder if Nixon supported his removal. It sure seems like they could have easily covered that one up. I can't help but wonder if it was all orchestrated by Nixon.

I've discovered a conference on cannabis for medical professionals over in my Green Flower library that I'd missed. The conference was held in Denver last year. I'm gonna be lost in this one for quite a while. Hours and hours of video on cannabinoids, the ECS, and therapeutic advancements. Sometimes I have to stop, take a step back and marvel at the sheer volume of information available to anyone looking.

There are many time when this feels very much like going back to school, with the unexpected benefit that I can stop at any time and do something else. Geez...... my brain feels overloaded. :laughtwo:

Wait.... I know a cure for that. Brownie!! :cheesygrinsmiley:

Happy Thursday Sue! Your thirst for knowledge is unquenchable! (Is that even a word?) I love how you spread knowledge and live fearlessly. Hugs. :volcano-smiley:
