SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

I just had my very first real smoke and daaaammmn that Durban Poison of mine is some nice stuff. I'm just a bit lightheaded and my reaction is a bit quicker than normal which is interesting. But yeah, I'll have to tell Spooks about this!

Congratulations rik. Now you know what we're all talking about. See the physiological value of euphoria? Your body would make those molecules on its own in these numbers if we hadn't polluted the food streams in heavy favor of omega-6 fatty acids. It's so nice that the planet evolved cannabis at the same time it evolved our bodily systems. :battingeyelashes:

I had to giggle that your entry into euphoria came by way of Durban Poison. :laughtwo: Damn son....... lol!

Happy Thursday Sue! Your thirst for knowledge is unquenchable! (Is that even a word?) I love how you spread knowledge and live fearlessly. Hugs. :volcano-smiley:

Is there any other way to live Scottay? :hugs::hugs::hugs:

I've been pondering the Agnew event recently.
He was apparently guilty of silly-small corruption.
I dunno. I know Nixon wanted to have a VP that looked really bad so that the American public wouldn't impeach him in fear of putting an idiot VP in charge. This was captured on tape.
I can't help but wonder if Nixon supported his removal. It sure seems like they could have easily covered that one up. I can't help but wonder if it was all orchestrated by Nixon.

You know that favorite tool of law enforcement officers, catch someone on a minor offence, threaten them with hard prison time, and then fish for information to catch someone else? That may have been what happened to Agnew. They may have been fishing for bigger fish to fry and he refused to bait a hook for his boss. I don't blame him, flipping on Nixon would have been a bit like flipping on Al Capone. A guy could become chum to Big Tuna for something like that.

Anyone want to guess what I had for dinner last night?

Interesting supposition Rad. Nixon was one bad hombre. It tickles me to realize that even he died and found out how futile all that resistance and drama was in the end. That was one screwed up ECS! Given what I learned yesterday I'm wondering if the man wasn't breastfed as an infant. :laughtwo: Its an interesting supposition that a majority of conservative brains may have become wired like that because they weren't breastfed. Breast milk is high in cannabinoids. Won't it be a kick when we discover the true benefit to breastfeeding is good brain chemistry. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Good morning everyone

I just realized I was so lost in study yesterday that I didn't post a single picture here. :thedoubletake: Let me fix that. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Weekly Update : The Tents - Friday, April 28, 2017

Let's start the tour with CBD Critical Cure 2.1 (Day 69, Flip + 26) drying out from her last drink, which occurred three days ago. Tomorrow she'll get another drink of just water and her next Brix foliar.

IMG_61706.JPG

Yeah.... Forgot to get back in there yeapsterday morning and turn the humidifier down. It was only for a few minutes, and I apologized to her.

IMG_61789.JPG

I couldn't be happier with the way she's filling out. She still has about five weeks to go, by my estimation. :slide:.

Gave her the 1/4 spin under the lights and got out of her way. :laughtwo:

IMG_617712.JPG

Next door we have the vegging girls.

IMG_61808.JPG

I'll need to keep a better handle on room temperatures this summer. I was lost in conference videos, completely oblivious to the need to crack the balcony door and get things cooled down in the bedroom.

IMG_61818.JPG

Carnival 3 (Day 56) Nothing pretty about this one, is there? :laughtwo: I'm more excited about her than any of the others. You better believe ill be cloning this baby before she goes into flower. Even given my 100% success rate with TOAST's cloning technique I'll be taking two cuttings. The sative influence is strong in this one.

She's still drying out from her last drench, when she was transplanted on the 21st.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. This girl looks lovely to me. :battingeyelashes:.dgreen_heart:

IMG_61837.JPG

I had to break down and restrain the top bud sites. They wouldn't listen to my gentle encouragements that they keep their heads down. The rest of the branches need time to catch up.

IMG_61869.JPG

Those are NOT signs of mites. I believe this is from the previous spraying of Brix with the Way Ahead. It's making my heart skip a beat much too often. I've checked though, very carefully, and daily. So far, all is quiet in the tents.

CBD Critical Cure 2.2 (Day 47) She's also still drying out from her transplant on the 21st. I've been spreading the branches to fill the real estate more efficiently. They change so drastically from this stage to full-blown bloom, don't they?

She's a beautiful specimen. There was a time back in the beginning when I thought I'd killed her. How satisfying to see her rebound so vigoriously.

One more glance back after they got spun under the lights.

On to the tiny closet. :ciao:

Weekly Update: The Tiny Closet - Friday, April 28, 2017

IMG_61678.JPG

Carnival 4 (Day 27). I'd have to say, this is the happiest little Carnival seedling I've grown to date. I swear, it's this light. The plants love this light.

IMG_61306.JPG

IMG_612910.JPG

I cant believe how easy it is to just water her, and she's responding beautifully to the simplicity of the Osmo Plus. Nice internal growth starting to take off.

CBD Critical Cure 2.1.1 (Day 26). A quiet one over here, busy building a root ball. She looks as tenuous as her predecessor looked at this stage, and every bit as encouraging too.

She's gonna be just fine. :cheesygrinsmiley:

On to the stars of the closet. :cheesygrinsmiley: The DDAs are both at Day 68 and had a drink of plain water yesterday, 3/4 gallon, split too and bottom.

Dark Devil Auto 6

I think I can take her another two weeks.

Dark Devil Auto 7

Yes, they are the same age. :laughtwo:

IMG_61518.JPG

God...... this one makes my heart skip a beat. :battingeyelashes:

IMG_61409.JPG

IMG_61527.JPG

I've never witnessed this before - the staining is occurring in a circular motion around the blossoms. I haven't noticed if it's going clockwise or not, but how intriguing is this? :laughtwo:

IMG_6155.PNG

IMG_61567.JPG

Had to raise the lights a few clicks. I'm keeping them at about 12". No signs if light stress that I can see.

And that's the nickle tour this week guys. Now it's time to get our butts out there and spread all this joy we generated. :laughtwo: Thank you so much for stopping to share. Being able to show them off is one of the greatest pleasures of the day. It pleases me to have made your day a bit brighter by my love of gardening and this itchy trigger finger on the camera.

I can't imagine the hobby being this much fun without you. :hugs: :green_heart:

Is Dark Devil Auto 7 is really that much taller/different than 6? that is pretty cool!

Yes indeed keltic. She's the one I butchered the topping on, and she now stands at least four inches taller than DDA6

Just had a brownie and I'm ready to head out the door when I think

" Is there any reason why you couldn't have both pieces now and bake another pan later today?"

Hmmmm.........

No..... I can't think of a single one. :cheesygrinsmiley: Sometimes it's really wonderful to be me. :battingeyelashes:

Good afternoon Sue. Been extra busy lately. Haven't had much time for the mag. I see you are growing some lovely plants. How's the insect sitch? Got that taken care of? Every time I read about your brownies, I get jealous. I wish edibles affected me the way they do for you. I can't eat one until the evening unless I want to take a long nap. Hope you're out spreading joy. I know you are.

A little brownie math :cheesygrinsmiley:

:hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:

Hey..... There you are. :hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:

Is it wonderful to have such an active life? My love to the wife who's holding you all together. :hugs:

I picked up a box of brownie mix, since I'd finished off the last batch before taking off for my walk, which was .......... geez, that's hard to describe. :laughtwo: Don't recall ever venturing out knowing I was destined to be that high. Lol! It was great fun. The river was the sweetest shade of dirty green after the recent storms.

Anyway, I got home and pulled together the brownies. While they were baking I got to wondering just how much THC I was getting in each brownie. Now, these that I'm making today are the tail end of the recent harvest that I made into oil the day of harvest, so unlike my regular brownies that include all the plant material I calculate them as an oil extraction. I've suspected for a while that these latest brownies might be packing a similar punch.

First, the basic formula:

You need to know

1. the expected THC value of the plant material, something few of us can prove, eh? :laughtwo:

2. the total grams of bud or plant material used (we're assuming trichome-laden buds :cheesygrinsmiley:)

3. the total ml of oil used

Assuming an extraction efficiency rate of 85% for infused oils and the specific gravity of the oil is equal to 0.90g/cc

Sooooo.......

Carnival tests at around 20%. I'll give myself that, for the sake of making it easier to calculate.

I used 100 grams wet, which would be equal to about 20 grams dry.

I'll make a total of 48 brownies (3 pans X 16 pieces per pan)

20% x 0.85 = .17 x 20 g = 3.4 g available THC X 1000 = 3,400 mg / 48 pieces = 70.8 mg THC per brownie.

"So" you ask, "how does this compare with regular brownies?" Let's take a look.

First off, no extraction loss.

8 grams of Carnival bud

16 pieces

20% x 1 = .2 x 8 g = 1.6 x 1000 = 1,600 mg / 16 pieces = 100 mg THC per brownie. :cheesygrinsmiley:

The next question became, if I'm getting a similar buzz with just slightly less material - the fresh oil method took 20 grams for three pans, the regular brownies would take 24 - is it worth the effort to process into oil beyond what I typically do, one pan at a time? I don't find it difficult to do one small batch of oil that retains all of the plant material, and that's more fun then going through the effort of infusing and pressing, and all the mess that goes with that. I think my body is beginning to miss the canna fiber. Lol!

For capsules, infusing a large batch and pressing is my go-to method, but I think I do quite well with the brownies just the way they are. Tasty way to get the cannabinoids in too. :laughtwo:

IMG_620010.JPG

Wasn't that fun? You know I licked the bowl and utensils, right? And then I did math. Ha! I have my moments. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Well let's say I am a quiet special creature Sue! Anyway, thanks! I always love to learn more about thungs i'm interested in every day. It's nice to be so young and learn a lot!

I kinda feel the same way rik, it's nice to be old and still be learning so much. I often feel this hobby has helped me grow younger. Combine that with my passion for Callanetics and I'm almost unstoppable. :laughtwo:

Good morning everyone

Happy Saturday!!!

There are mornings that I'm just giddy with joy after doing the preliminary check on the girls. I mean, how lucky are we to be home hosting the likes of these???

IMG_620410.JPG

You see my point? :cheesygrinsmiley: I know most of you have gardens of your own and feel the same way. And people wonder why we're so joyful. :laughtwo: Get out there and share your joy with your community, no matter how you define community. The more joy you share the more you have to share. Isn't that the nicest benefit of all?

Soooo..... Do I have my breakfast or my brownie first? :hmmmm:

:ciao: Hi Sue, I ask only because your explanations usually make sense to a thick-o like me, The CFLs? Is supplemental for the Vegging? Getting a little CFL blue light for them? Just habit?
I agree with all of my Qs.... My 250 watt CFL did a great job vegging my sprouts, so I understand, Just wondering what you are thinking?
MY CFL was to big and hot for me teeny tent...................

It's one of the high points of my day. Lights on in the flower tent occurs about an hour after I get home from work. Most days I just sit with them for a while. Give them each a slow turn...pick off any ugly.. Its quite relaxing. :)

The lighting kit in this tent is a Citizen, meant for flowering. I'm simply giving them additional blue spectrum through the veg stage. It's possible they could have managed without it, but a few extra watts of blue can only enhance the process, no? :battingeyelashes:

My initial plan for flow of the garden had a timeline that didn't match the growth rate of what was flowering. That's how I ended up vegging in the flower tent. Still working out the kinks of the perpetual in limited spaces.

I'm having a hard time defining 'lazy' any other way. There might as well be a photo in the dictionary....

I'm amazed at how beautiful this one is Tead. I've grown so many now, and this one....she has a special feel to her.
