SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

I would rather it found a home with someone who other wise could not grow to their potential. When I originally was interested it was more of a 'lets see if I can fix this' than a need for more light :) That said, its a nice! panel and if you cant find a needy soul....

:peacetwo:

Good job mouser. If anyone knows of a member in need of lighting, someone desperate to help their grow, please send them my way or PM me the information. There are many good grows in this light.

How on earth did I miss this yesterday? Oh yeah...... oil making. :laughtwo: Well done Hash Hound. Excellent documentation. How long did it take to trim her?

just about an hour

the WW is one of the stinkiest strains I deal with.
I forgot to change clothes and went down Mancinis for bread and the girl behind the counter said "smells like the holiday"

I didn't get it til I was walking out the door and I told her, now I get it.

I'll have to lay a joint on her some day.

Good morning everyone

A repost from my study hall. I thought this important enough to share here too. :battingeyelashes:

Some time ago DrZiggy introduced us to his Low and Slow method of drying cannabis. Loosely fill your jar with buds, put a screen on instead of a solid lid, and put it out of the way in your refrigerator for at least two weeks. You want temperatures around 35 degrees F and humidity around 40%. This is pretty close to where mine hovers, so I didn't bother to check. I simply placed them in the drawer and forgot about them. When I came upon them I'd give them a gentle tumble, but mostly I ignored them.

This morning I'm testing it out, and OMG! This is a strain I grow continuiously. I'm over ten individual specimens by now, I'm sure. This is a completely different euphoric effect than I've gotten from any of the others, including this same plant that was processed into fresh-harvest oil the day what I'm smoking went into the fridge.

IMG_591010.JPG

IMG_59117.JPG

Ziggy uses half-gallon jars. I only had popcorn buds, and very few at that.

I harvested about three weeks ago, I believe, so no cure at all yet. The very first thing I noticed when I removed them from the fridge was the bright greens in the sugar leaves. It was startling. Since coming to room temperature the smell has become consistent with what I expect from Carnival, excepting this one smells more like lemon flavoring, it's that intense. Had me thinking of lemon drop candies yesterday, where my buds dried the conventional way smell more like lemon-scented Lysol. Hmmm..... Interesting. I'll have to give that closer consideration.

My theory is that the temps suspend the evaporation of the terpenes and the flavonoids. This is causing a more profound entourage effect. I wish I'd done more of the plant like this. The cold would have killed any mite eggs, making this another option to save an infested harvest.

I'm considering the potential of buds dried in the refrigerator and processed into GrowGoddess's ND SAP oil. If what I'm experiencing is any indication of what can be expected, we're on to something here. I'll be drying my next harvest in this manner, and likely every harvest from here on out. I keep very little food in my refrigerator as it is. Leaves lots of room for drying. :laughtwo:

They're not pretty buds at all, but potent as hell. I almost forgot this technique and these were the popcorn buds, all that was left. All the best buds had already been cut up and were in the pot to be cooked down into oil.

IMG_60349.JPG

I highly recommend you experiment with this method. When your cannabis smacks you go and thank Ziggy. :cheesygrinsmiley:

This is a fun find guys. Play with it. It took me over a year to remember I wanted to test part of a harvest and I'm sooooo glad it was a Carnival I chose. :laughtwo: I'm imagining a DDA dried in this manner. Oh yeah......:slide:

There's my shot of joy for the morning. Get out there and share it. :cheesygrinsmiley: I'm gonna try for another hit. I don't know if it'll be possible, but a girl's gotta try. Guys..... I became the music. That never happened with Carnival before.

Edit: DrZiggy tells me it has to be a frost-free refrigerator.

Weekly Update: The Tents - Saturday, April 22, 2017

It's a challenge guys, but I'll muscle through. :laughtwo: Whew! I'm devastatingly high. Lol! Ok, I came here with a purpose :battingeyelashes:

CBD Critical Cure 2 was my 420 harvest, already turned into healing oil. Oh! I forgot to take mine this morning. Be right back..... Silly woman. :laughtwo:

Everyone in the garden, excepting the little ones, were Brixed and Way Ahead this morning, just as lights came on. That explains the dampness of the leaves.

Lets start with CBD Critical Cure 2.1 (Day 63, flip + 20) who got her second CAT yesterday and a Recharge topdressing.

I couldn't be more pleased. :cheesygrinsmiley: She's about 40-50 days from the end, just where I need her to be. Time to start learning to increase yield, or grow two out at the same time.

Next door we have the next CBD CC clone and Carnival 3, freshly transplanted into their finish pots yesterday and each treated to a 1/4 Trans drench and a spot of tea.

IMG_597413.JPG

CBD Critical Cure 2.2 (Day 42) I planted her off center (on purpose :laughtwo:) to better accomodate the training and keep her centered in the pot.

IMG_60178.JPG

All the tiny white spots you see are reflection. You can bet your life I went to the tent to assure myself I was correct in that assumption. I believe this Way Ahead addition to the Brix foliar is messing with the leaves. For sure it's leaving more residue on the leaves. Makes it challenging if mites appear, and for the first time I considered giving the plants a quick shower. Not worth the effort IMO.

Carnival 3 (Day 50) I started tucking the top branches to give the others time to catch up. She has at least another month to get herself in flowering shape.

IMG_60208.JPG

I don't know what the story is with the thin and curled fan leaves, but she gives off a nice energy, and all indications are she's healthy and ready to show off what she's got.

IMG_602212.JPG

Look at that ramrod stalk! Good branchings, excellent structure and obviously a sativa pheno. :woohoo: I may take more than one cutting of this one. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_60234.JPG

On to the Tiny Closet. After a couple more tiny hits. Ooowee.... This is potent stuff.

CBD Critical Cure 2.1.1 (Day 20 from cutting) She's slowly but surely building steam following her planting into soil on the 19th. Signs of new growth are promising.

She got raised closer to the light this morning.

IMG_59884.JPG

Carnival 4 (Day 22) It's time to start planning her repotting with the Osmo. I'm trying to decide between keeping her in a pot this size or going with the larger pots I prepared for my first run and never used. At this point I'm leaning towards staying at this size until I'm really comfortable with the process. This makes my third run, and confidence is building. Now, to pull off this transplant without a hitch......

IMG_59898.JPG

IMG_59908.JPG

DDA7 (Day 61) I goofed with this pair of plants yesterday. They were scheduled for their second CAT, but I neglected to transfer the notes to the flow sheets, and instead they got an Energy drench. I'd been considering going with only one CAT with the autos, due to their accelerated time lines. That would have suggested this drench be plain water. Nowhere in the plan does it fit an Energy to follow the CAT. I may have screwed with the science, and only time will tell what effect it'll have on the plants. The next two drenches will be water only. A classic  moment that no one will be losing any sleep over. :laughtwo:

IMG_59916.JPG

She's now taller than her companion DDA. The butchered topping has worked in my favor after all. :laughtwo:

IMG_599210.JPG

Starting to stain the leaves. :yahoo: She's gonna yeild more than DDA6, I can see it coming.

IMG_59938.JPG

IMG_59988.JPG

DDA6 (Day 61) Inky and sweet as she can be. I smell these two as soon as I open the door, but it's not the skunky cannabis smell you'd expect. It's more a sweet berry undertone. How neat, stealthy terpenes. :laughtwo:

IMG_59958.JPG

Shes a good two weeks ahead in development.

The babies both got brought closer to the canopy and everyone got the daily spin under the lights.

That's the weekly tour. Thank you so much for stopping to share the joy. Now get out there and share it with others. I'm going back to this rediculous buzz. Happy Saturday everyone. :hugs:

Looking good in here girl; except maybe those funny leaves on Carn 3. That's got to be an environmental issue of some sort.

Good news. I needed it. I finally sorted out the electrical issue on the circuit to my GR. All is back in order :slide: and I'll put the 4 x 4 x 7 tent back up next week to to run 8 Blue Dream clones in one gallon pots.

One of these clones will get reversed sex using silver thiosulfate and I'll make a handful of BD fem seeds.

Sue, I seen ya say some bad words,,, mites... Are you staying on top of them? Nothing worse than mites, if you have plants of all stages, it makes it hard to get rid of them.. Once alll your plants are smaller and in veg stage,, you can effectively combat them.. But even that one thats almost done and can't be sprayed,, it can reinfect everything. I've had to damn near shut everything down before because of them. Small veg plants are easy to get complete coverage with whatever your using.
Hopefully, you have them gone,, and your keeping a close eye on them.. Something to ponder is preditors? They help if you just have 2 or 3 running around. I used them after my last go around with them bastards. Kind of a redundant thing. GL and Keepem Green

Good afternoon Woody. The mites have been a concern this year, but I may have figured out how to contain them. This last harvest they took minimal leaves, and the new plants in that tent will get the eagle eye, you can be sure.

I find their evidence early and then selectively cull infested leaves. This worked well the last plant. I've had no luck with spraying. I think if I ever had a big problem again I'd consider ladybugs.

The whole mess forced me to find ways to process the plant into oil at harvest, something I might have put off longer had the Borg not visited. In the end, it turned out to be a good thing, and now I have a certain confidence that I can weather this type of challenge and still come through with valuable meds.

Good to hear buckaroo. We've missed your tent, and that electrical problem's been hanging over your head from the beginjing. Kuddos on getting that under control. I can't wait Jim. :slide: :yahoo:

So Sue, I do have a little question about my plants. So I will go on vacation for 6 or 7 days and I don't have anyone to water my little plants when i'm back so if I give them a lot of water just before I'll go, will they survive then?

I'm not Sue, but you can put them in plastic freezer bags or some other transparent/translucent plastic bags and leave them for a week. This way they wont dry out. They dont need anything else in that short of time.

Thanks gramma! I will still try to make sure that someone will water them because it's better that way but if nobody is available then I will make something work. Thanks anyway!

The trick I use for the clones with the produce bags would likely work, don't you think AKgramma? If the plants are small enough they should last a week for sure.

You'll find a way to make it work rik. Creativity is a natural offshoot of cannabis cultivation. Everywhere you go you're looking at stuff and thinking "How can I use that in my grow?"

Getting ready to test the Candy Cane I dried in the fridge.

IMG_60438.JPG

Dense buds, lots of trichomes, fragrant perfume...... she has a lot going for her.

IMG_60449.JPG

It was a little crazy that she turned out to be a photo, but she gave me a decent batch of oil that the daughter finds to her liking, and I have many more seeds. It may show up again, under better conditions.

The whole room smells of pineapple, and I haven't yet broken a piece off. It's 9:30. Let's see if this can put me to sleep. Today was a Callanetics day, and I got a decent walk in too, so it may not be asking it to do much by way of motivation. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I'm making myself a treat for breakfast. :battingeyelashes:

1 gram of CCO...

IMG_60357.JPG

with 5 grams of coconut oil, blended.

IMG_603611.JPG

An additional 45 grams of coconut oil and a tablespoon of liquid sunflower lecithin, all mixed, and mixed, and mixed..... until it stops separating.

IMG_60376.JPG

Into the fridge for the night. In the morning I'll add 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, take one fourth and blend it with frozen fruit, a banana, and some lemon meringue Greek yogurt to start my Sunday off right. :blunt:

It's a breakfast of cannabis champions. :laughtwo:

Thank you Sue! Since the beginning of my grow hobby, I haven't been away for more than 2 days so that's pretty funny but the good thing is that I will learn how things like that work. I know Pigeons also covers these kinds of subjects on his YouTube channel.
