SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

God night Sue

:hugs::hugs::hugs:

Good Morning RedDragon. :hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:

I went to bed at midnight last night and slept through until 8:30. :woohoo: Let me finish this note and get into the shower.

Sue you really crack me up!
I just love the way you write, if I didnt know any better I'd throw all my gear out and switch to hempys, and then just like that you show this beautiful plant grown in doc's kit and I'm all confused again HAHA!
Your writing is like my everyday struggle, do I keep where I'm at or keep pushing for that next big "ah ha" moment. I'll keep pushing.
Crazy enough over the past 6 months or so I've switched everything over to LOS soil. With only growing 2 plants at a time I needed some more action in my grown tent. Isn't cooking soil fun :)
Maybe a Hempy or 2 would be fun this winter ;)

:laughtwo: I know, I crack me up too. So many temptations. Lol! I think you'll be happy with LOS. If I hadn't been handed my first HB kit it would still be my soil of choice. Once I had the kit it was only a matter of time before I switched. I'd try a hempy RheinRover. They really are fun, and you probably have experience with bottled nutes, so it'd be easier for you to make the transition. I've decided to expand with a second hempy pot. I'll decide which seed to start later today. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I'm still new to the hempy - hell, I've only been growing cannabis for two years, and I think we can give me a pass on the year following Dale's death, so it's all still evolving for me. The hempies show promise, and then I unzip that tent and look at the one ready to come down and realize there's no way I can give up a system that grows plants like this.

Good morning everyone:Love:

I woke up to central heat chugging away and snowflakes dancing outside the window. Winter is making a last gasp. It looks cold and wet out there. I have food on hand sufficient to keep me in today, thank goodness. I'll meander through the day getting the update together and just staying warm and cozy.

That means I'll be spreading joy through these pages instead of out in the community. Still counts. :cheesygrinsmiley: I encourage you to look for opportunities to share that joyfulness I know is right now beginning to spill out of you. Everyone benefits from our joyful journey, mostly you.

Joy people.....spread it far and wide. :hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:

I believe I'll try this week's update in sections. We've got a lot going on, and you know how I love the pictures. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Weekly Update; Friday April 7, 2017: Tent #1

CBD Critical Cure 2.1 (Day 41, Flip + 5)

I had her out for a drink of plain water. She got the community Brix on Tuesday and her drink today. Other than that she's been happy and well-behaved. A delight to have in the garden.

Let me me step aside and let you enjoy the pretty pictures. :battingeyelashes:

One more look before she gets zipped up. She smells unbelievable! I've grown really fond of the scent of this strain. I'll have to try a brownie batch from this harvest. Might be an interesting effect as a recreational dose.

On to the tiny closet. :ciao:

Weekly Update; Friday April 7, 2017: The tiny closet

IMG_54459.JPG

Everyone gets a quarter turn every morning. That goes for all of the grow spaces. It's a quirk I have. :battingeyelashes: I figure if I keep shifting them around the light penetrates everywhere. On Sunday I'll shift them all from one side to another, flip the whole arrangement. Why not? :cheesygrinsmiley:

Everyone got Brixed on Tuesday.

I'll start with the baby, still working on her roots.

CBD Critical Cure 2.1.1 (Day 5 since cutting) I opened her a day early to check because she'd sprung a leak in the bag and it needed fixing. Shiny, healthy leaves on her and she puts off all this energy.

IMG_54697.JPG

No roots yet, but we didn't expect any this early in. I replenished the water level and closed her up.

IMG_54705.JPG

IMG_547112.JPG

I may be the only one I know with enough confidence in my cloning technique that I only root one cutting at a time. I don't have the space or the patience to clone great numbers.

IMG_54729.JPG

There's movement in the plug! :slide: Should be sometime within the next day.

IMG_54736.JPG

The hempy pot is cleaned and filled with rinsed perlite. We're all ready to go. I secured the Osmo Plus. I'll be starting her on a mild dilution of the Grow Better line I won in this year's contest until she's hearty enough to handle the Osmo.

IMG_55139.JPG

Carnival 3 (Day 35) I'm shocked at how quickly she took to this light.

IMG_54749.JPG

IMG_54758.JPG

Lots of new growth bursting out all over.

IMG_54763.JPG

IMG_547710.JPG

She won't be topped for another couple weeks.

On on the other side of the closet we have CBD Critical Cure 2.2 (Day 26) She was bone dry, so I gave her about a quart and a half of plain water. Next drink will be an Energy drench.

I cleaned her up by removing the damaged leaves and look at her now! And I thought I'd killed her. :Laugh2:

Dark Devil Auto 6 (Day 44) Both of the DDAs are the same age.

It fascinates me how spindly they look as they begin to build blossoms. You see them at this stage and think "No way it that plant gonna give me ounces!" Then they always prove you wrong. :blunt:

DDA6

She's gonna be a low-riding plant. :laughtwo: Wait until the colas rise.

IMG_54977.JPG

IMG_54999.JPG

A shot from further out to capture everyone. It's difficult to get the true representation of how sunny it is over in this corner.

IMG_55007.JPG

It's much closer to this.

IMG_55019.JPG

Whew! That's a busy grow space. :laughtwo: One more tent to go. :ciao:

Weekly Update; Friday April 7, 2017: Tent #2

CBD Critical Cure 2 (Day 116, flip + 41, CAT2 + 23)

I save this tent for last, hoping to limit any potential spreading of the mite community. She's requiring minimal leaf removal, which I take as a good sign. You wouldn't believe how sticky she is. Shots of the cola tops don't do the frostiness justice. Most of the fun is going on beneath the canopy. She got Brixed Tuesday as well, and had an Energy drench on Tuesday.

IMG_55039.JPG

I was shocked at how much more bulk she appears to have put on overnight. :laughtwo: The final two weeks are a dramatic difference, aren't they?

IMG_55049.JPG

IMG_550211.JPG

You can see, the larger fans are beginning to turn. Getting close. :battingeyelashes:

One last look before I'm finished. Gosh.....she's a pretty one. Lots of medicine offering hours of relief in this tent. Months even.

IMG_55118.JPG

And that's the nickle tour. Looks like harvest in another week or two and then things can be shifted around. When this one come down I'll be shifting Carn3 and CBD CC 2.2 into this tent and veg them under the BudMaster until I'm ready to flip them. Then I'll switch out the lights.

Thank you for stopping to enjoy the bounty. Your presence makes the journey all the more delicious. Sharing this hobby is almost as important as the benefits we get from the harvests. You all know how addictive it is to grow these girls.

On with your joyful day. I'll be seeing you around the yards.

:Namaste:

All that posting made me hungry as a horse. :laughtwo: Let me find something nutritious before my next brownie dose. :cheesygrinsmiley:

brownie time !!

This is a nice plant here.....Love the tour :thankyou:
IMG_54517.JPG

Thanks keltic. This is what a kit plant is supposed to look like. Maybe if I can pull off some consistent harvests I'll improve my stature among the HB growers. For now they tolerate me because I'm cute and loving. :laughtwo:

She is a pretty one, and deserved more pictures. :cheesygrinsmiley:

While I was in there I noticed her smell has changed since this morning. This strain takes on the smell mildly reminiscent of a soiled diaper, but one from a healthy infant being breastfed. It's a particular odor that's not as offensive as the description might suggest. :laughtwo: This is further indication that we're probably within a week of harvest.

If you hadn't commented I wouldn't have noticed this keltic. Thanks again. :hugs:

Lot's of good stuff going on . DDA 7 looking bountiful.

My favorite photo is of this CBD Critical Cure. Looking good :thumb: She will be pretty in flower.

Ahh guys..... you're makin' me blush. :bigblush:

I like this new journal, Sue. You inspire me to go on to the next level with the pictures of your lovely ladies. I am way behind you, just now consciously making an LOS to improve the health of MY ladies.

That our indoor gardens are very much alike, add to the relevancy of your journals.

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and research with us!

Why thank you AKgramma. That kinda made my evening. :hugs:

This grow has taken on a lovely energy. The addition of the new lights supercharged all the plants, and having that gorgeous plant ready for harvest makes life feel so sweet. She smells like healing to me.

I read of your amendment adventure and could smell the new dirt. :laughtwo: It's so strange to look back at how I've progressed from when I started with LOS, but the mixing of soil will remain one of my favorite pastimes.

Hiya Sue!! Huggssss.....great lookin plants friend. I wish I was your neighbor!!!! Not just neighboring states. Happy saturday!!! :volcano-smiley:puff puff pass. (The song pass the kutchie to the left front side is in my head). :volcano-smiley:

Hi @SweetSue,
could you tell me which color temperature for Citizen Clu048 1212 is best for a full cycle?
I saw you have purchased 3000k.
while i'm interested in 4000k (more blue).
Is it too much the loss in the flowering stage using this?

Good morning mostarda and :welcome: to my joyful journal. Dan at Timber Grow Lights determined for me that 3500 K was the best for my autos in the tiny closet, but the Citizen kits were meant for flowering, and he choose 3000 K for that function. I'll be honest with you, I didn't purchase these kits, they were a gift. I have this strange and wonderful life where marvelous things come to me. I don't research the way others do, and in this case I put myself into Dan's capable hands and followed his lead. He's the professional here. He requested my grow space dimensions and asked what I intended to do in each area. Then he put together these three kits.

There have been a few members who tested out the increased blue spectrum - Doc Bud springs to mind, as does Icemud. I recall that Doc was unimpressed, but I didn't follow Icemud to the end of his test. You might want to engage him in conversation about this. If it were me, I'd find Icemud and ask his opinion. He's my go-to lighting guru on site. Lighting is Icemud's passion. :battingeyelashes:

Happy Saturday my friend. :hugs:  The plants are taking to the lighting change. I believe we have an exciting year ahead of us in this garden. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Yeah..... It'd be nice if we could stroll down the street and share a few bowls. Someday Scottay..... someday. :dreamy:

Good morning everyone.

It's Saturday!!! Pigeons is doing another live wake'n bake. I need to track down the time. Last week's live was great fun. Almost feels like we're all in the same room. :laughtwo:

It's a bright and beautiful sunny morning in The Burgh, and I hope that is replicated in your slice of Paradise. Make the best of the day and sprinkle joy everywhere you go. Were you aware that joy is the vibration that heals? A small experiment I have going. Yeah.... another experiment. :laughtwo: I've been consciously reminding myself that this giggly feeling I get accompanied by goosebumps is the vibration that heals. A bit of deliberate manifestation with the intention of repairing my own deficient ECS to a more therapeutic tone. I have this theory that the healing we all seek with cannabis is something we can eventually produce on demand. It's the most natural expression of who we are, IMO.

Makes these daily encouragements take on a more noble tone, doesn't it? :laughtwo: I can't heal you myself, but I can certainly encourage you to develop the mindset that does. So get out there. Spread that bubbling joy far and wide. The goal is to have more at the end of the day than you had at the beginning, but no one's keeping score, so have fun with the cosmic alchemy. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I'm headed to Lowe's after breakfast to finally pick up new paint buckets for the one-gallon drenches. The ones I have are falling apart. Then I need to decide if I'm gonna start the second hempy pot now or wait. If it's now the next question is which strain to play with?

I'll keep you in the loop. Later guys. :ciao:

Welcome little one. :green_heart:
