SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

Sue

how hot are those heat sinks to the touch?

are the bigger ones hotter than the smaller ones?

and are they hotter near the base or even temp all over?

my closet has gone up about 4 degrees with the addition of the Vero240.
no big issue though, still within reason.

And again I want to thank you for passing the Vero on to me,:thankyou:
and to Dan from Timber.:ciao:

The smaller heat sinks get warm enough that you don't want to leave the hand three, but still not painful. The heat appears to be evenly distributed. The temperature in the tent hasn't gone above 80 degrees yet. They've stayed between 66 at night and 79 during lights on. Today may be warmer. Outdoor temps are beginning to climb.

The larger heat sinks are cool to the touch all over.

I went and priced them today, and I'm feeling rather blessed and humbled. Dan was very good to me. :battingeyelashes:

Good morning everyone.

I'll start with my daily encouragement to engage the universe in childlike play on this fresh, new day loaded with opportunity for joyful expression. Get out there and share that joy far and wide.

Look..... Sunshine in a box. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I took Dan up on his suggestion to remove the reflectors in the highly-reflective tents for improved light availability and lowered them to 18" above the canopy. I'll begin lowering every day until I find the sweet spot.

Everyone got Brixed today before lights on.

A minor adjustment to keep the power cord off the heat sink.

Back to your joyful morning. I'm off to shower and make breakfast. Up for 90 minutes, and most of that time was fussing with my brood. It tickles me that I take care of them before I tend to my own needs. :laughtwo:

Later, my friends. :ciao:

Morning to you :hugs: SweetSue :hugs:
Morning all.

Please forgive me for not noticing right away you were back full time here. Awesome !
So happy to see your shining soul back to what you love.

We have been extremely busy with moving and all. I am setting up a grow with Twilight LED GS1000 super doober excited about that. But, it has been a chore to get up. The room needs work that should happen later on today and tomorrow. Very close now though.
We are so happy to be back home again.

Any how, so awesome you're back. I just read back like four or five pages that ran over a course of days. If I woulda missed a few days before I'd still be reading for days. Amazing how fast it picks back up for you. You're the best.

Great job on the lights you guys are working on.
Something that would make a very very nice co-hobby for some.

Much love to you Sue and really really glad to see you back here.
:passitleft:

12-18" -- now that is nice. I flower at 12-18". When I hear recommended distances of 32", I have a hard time imagine forcing the flowering girls to stay that short.

These new COB seem to be very capable lights - I'd like to see you pull 4+ oz with them :)

Oooo...... I'd like to see that too. :slide:

Good news on the Mites! Lets hope the low numbers just keep getting lower!

Aren't those Timbers just the bees knees!! Have mine at about 12" right now on a blue dream auto and never had a plant grow this fast.

Now this excites me. :yahoo: I'll start lowering every day. The plants do love this light. It's amazing how much happier they feel with the COBs.

Glad to hear life's settling again Jacob. :hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:

Moving can be such a pain. Eleven years ago when I moved into this apartment I swore it'd be the last move. :laughtwo: In no time you'll be all cozy and warm again. That light sounds divine. What a difference good lighting makes. You'll be dancing a joyful jig at harvest.

I can't express enough how happy I am to be back Jacob. I went into the change all excitement and joyful anticipation, took the time to clear clutter from my life and energy and got slapped by the reality that the job was not for me at all. It was harder than you'd imagine to let the team down by quitting so early on, but staying would have created a mess that might have been impossible to clean up and still be a part of the community.

This is my place here. This yard and my many, many threads that keep me so busy. :battingeyelashes:

You don't have a journal running RheinRover. You should drop a picture of your lights in keltic's thread.

Weekly Update: Friday, March 31, 2017

We've already covered the harvests, so let's take a peek in on the rest of the brood.

The tiny closet is happily clicking along. The CBD Critical Cure 2.1 (Day 41) is on the right and is definately ready to go into flower. She just had an Energy drench yesterday.

In the middle is DDA6 (Day 36), adapting to her training. Early signs of flowering are beginning to show.

On the left we have CBD Critical Cure 2.2 (Day 19). Tomorrow I'll begin her training, before she gets any taller.

IMG_53006.JPG

When I get the bigger clone moved I can shift DDA7 into the tiny closet and move the smaller clone into this space.

IMG_53249.JPG

Carnival 3 (Day 28) got a double Trans drench Wednesday, but I overdid it, so now she's drying out. Looking healthy as hell as she does it too, working on her fifth node. It's a bit early to tell, but this one has the feel of a sativa pheno. Maybe it's just me, wishful thinking. :laughtwo:

DDA7 (Day 36) is ready to enjoy that new lighting. From this point on the DDAs will all start in the tiny closet, a new one following the harvest. That leaves this shelf to accommodate early veg for the tents. Hash Hound brought me another reflector and some 5000 K CFLs to fill out the light needs for this space.

IMG_53037.JPG

I started to open her up a bit. She'll fill the pot nicely when I'm done with her.

IMG_53047.JPG

Around the corner we have CBD Critical Cure 2 (Day 109, flip + 34, CAT2 + 17).

Remember how I freaked out when my first one grew hash tips? :laughtwo: I swear, you guys must really love me. LOL! Turned out to be a genetic trait of the strain. She started popping the upper blossoms about two or three days ago.

IMG_53077.JPG

The CBD strains don't frost up as thickly as THC-dominant ones will. I'll be interested in seeing how she performs in the end. We're 17 days after her second CAT, and I'm wondering if it'd be worth considering another one before harvest. She looks to have a few more weeks to go, and she's drinking about every four or five days, so it may be possible, depending on how she goes.

Tomorrow I'll decide which strain to plant for the hempy. I'm switching nutrient lines.

That's the nickle tour. Thank you so much for devoting the time to gawk and support. They're all doing so well, it makes my life feel incredibly blessed. :cheesygrinsmiley: It's been a long day and I'm bushed. I've been at it nonstop since 8:30 this morning. We call this a hobby, right? : laugh2: Time to stop and relax with some Carnival. Hmmmmmm...... Been a while since I had any DDA. Sounds like a plan. :battingeyelashes:

Have a wonderful evening. Maybe I'll see you around the yards. It's been a while since I got ripped and went wandering. This might be the time for just such an adventure.

:ciao:

Beautiful looking ladies there Sweetsue.

An interesting point I just learned about aspirin and the endocannabinoid system. Aspirin works because it interferes with the ECS. The cannabinoids your body produces are meant to degrade and be washed out of the body. Aspirin blocks the enzymatic action that does the degrading, causing a spike of cannabinoids in the system. It's this spike that effects pain, so it's the cannabinoids doing the work of pain modulation, not the aspirin.

I can't believe you STIL haven't got your Advanced light yet. It's freaking April for Christs sake. Didn't you win in January? That has to be frustrating. Im glad Timber lights came through for you Sue.

Thanks :hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:

I sent Kyle another request that I might see it before May. I'm still optimistic he intends to actually live up to the obligation.

Yes, Dan did rescue me in a most dramatic way, didn't he? Dan has very happy customers, growing some of the happiest plants they can imagine. Every plant I sit under these marvelous lights wakes up and smiles. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Congrats on the new lights Sue! Everything looks great. I hope you're happy and smilin. Spread that joy right!? :volcano-smiley:

Same precaution with your eyes under these like, ok. Okay.
'Ave a grateday Sue.

Thank you for the reminder keltic. The light feels so natural you don't think about it. In reality I spend very little time near the lights myself. I'm usually in and out of their way, trying to interfer as little as possible. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Edit:I do, however, stop to peek in multiple times a day. :battingeyelashes:

Interesting -- I found a link to an article claiming SSI are even more specific than NSAIDs (aspirin et al) at inhibiting the oxygenation that deactivates the circulating endocannabinoids. Fascinating stuff (if a bit hard to read.)

The way I read it, many/most of the helpful effects of NSAIDs, Celebrex, and SSIs occur by allowing an increased presence of encannabiods (2-AG and AEA) which "play multiple roles in physiological and pathophysiological processes, including metabolism, cognition, stress and anxiety, tumor progression, bone remodeling, pain perception, and inflammation."

A New Class of Cyclooxygenase Inhibitors with Anti-Anxiety Activity

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Hash Hound,
I just noticed the K Town in your signature. I was in Mannheim from mid 68 until I was discharged on Christmas eave of 70.

My first child was born in Heidelberg.

Best

Knew as soon as I saw K Town it could be the one and only Kaiserslautern! Was stationed there for 4 years. Lots of fun to be had thats for sure!

Canyon: I'm guessing you know this already but everything in Mannheim and Heidelberg has been closed down, well besides the jail. Was near Mannheim a couple years ago and all of the base housing has now been turned into refugee apartments. Things look just a little different to say the least.

Good morning everyone.

Been up for an hour and haven't gotten out of bed yet. Lol! This site an be incredibly addictive. :laughtwo: It's Wednesday, and I get to go walking with my friend this evening. :slide: We always end the 3 mile walk with coffee from Starbuck's and soup from Panara Bread, then sit and jaw for a couple hours. It's become our favorite break of the week, made even better by the change to springtime temperatures and later sunsets.

Ahhhh....... Life is sweet indeed, eh? :battingeyelashes:

How's about a glance into a different sunny box?

IMG_54256.JPG

I'm stunned by the vigor of this clone. Look at those shiny leaves! She already reeks, and she's just getting started. :laughtwo: I started her training yesterday. We need to give the lower branches some time to catch up.
IMG_54267.JPG

DDA6 is showing more purple. :yahoo:

IMG_5428.PNG

DDA7 is starting to catch up. :woohoo:

IMG_542911.JPG

Carnival 3 still looks a little rough around the edges, but she'll transition before long. When CBD Critical Cure 2 comes down she gets that tent and her own COB display to flower under when it's time.

IMG_54305.JPG

I removed the reflectors. I believe I like this spread better.

IMG_54316.JPG

On to your joyful day now. Get out there and spread that joy far and wide. I have the day planned to be joyful from beginning to end. So far, so good. :cheesygrinsmiley: May yours be every bit as celebratory.

:Love: :hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs: :Love:
