That's earlier than I have been doing a CAT drench - I've been waiting until the flowers are a bit more developped - so they look more like fuzz balls above the fan leaves than fuzz balls nestled in the tops of leaves - maybe 3 more days. I refer you to the masters at
Timing the cationic drench
This is one of the things neiko pointed out to me when we were in Jamaica. He hits his as soon as they get individual blossoms in place, but before they're what we all were calling "set". This works well in his garden, well enough that I'm replicating it in my own.
To be honest, I've always had a sense that I was missing the timing when I did the CAT, and that's including the last run, when I came closer to the newer
guidelines Shiggity was suggesting. I'm still trying to figure out what works best in my garden.
My aloe mother is coming back after loosing ALL her roots and sitting in the dark for 2 months - resiliant plants
One of these days I'll get more soil and another dish with more of a horizontal profile for the one you sent me. I wasn't expecting to keep it in that small pot this long.
I lived in the sunset district of San Francisco in the 80s. Small, common wall houses with skylights and postage stamp back yards. There were magnificent 5 to 8 foot jade plants outdoors in the Sunset district - many of them planted by Japanese gardeners before WW2. Also jade plants in stores. We had a jade in the light well outside the dining room.
The house I rented was listed for $240K when I moved, which was either twice the price or half the size of houses in adjacent cities. Zillow now lists that house as $1400K - thats $1000 per square foot
Imagine what it would sell for if I had planted jade bushes instead of hedges
Whoa! I'll have to go googling on the 8 ft jade plants. That would be spectacular.
What a nice gift. Thanks - The ladies of the house are big fans of stones and fossils.
Somehow I knew this.
