SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

Thank you. :hugs: I'm relieved it's so well recieved, because I sure can't seem to slow it down at all. Some days I feel like I'm just getting started.

Yes, you are just getting started. There is so much for us to uncover and learn!

I read that and realized that my bliss led me here. :circle-of-love:

Hey Sue ... :cheesygrinsmiley:

I was just over on Doc's Lab thread, stoned and posting irrelevant stuff and I thought I'd best bring my musings here.

It occurs to me that I almost always smoke a mix of strains now, and that I mostly do it instinctively. I'll keep a bud of each of three or four strains in my tray and I'll roam among them with a one-hitter. When it runs dry, I'll head into the room I keep my jars and I'll rummage around a little bit and choose another bud or two ... whatever I fancy. I have a mix of terps and cannabinoids in my system every day

The revelation is that I do it without much thought either way. Sure, I'll see a jar and it'll be "yeah!" but otherwise mostly a shrug and a choice. In the tray, I'll pick up the hitter and look at my choices and pick one. Sometimes as I'm rolling a piece into a ball I'll change my mind and put it back and get a different one.

So, that's pretty much letting my own ECS run the show. :hmmm:

Interesting, no?

:bongrip:

I find that very interesting Graytail. I do essentially the same thing, using a water pipe and a selection stored in the little nug jars and kept within reach of where I work cross legged on the floor.

I make my choices on instinct too, without much forethought. I don't have your selection :laughtwo: and I let the BIL smoke through most of what I had on hand, but he's so happy I couldn't hold back. I'll replenish as we go on.

You know, every time I'm out shopping I'm looking for a plate like that one your wife found. One of these days. :battingeyelashes:

And isn't it wonderful that no matter which one you choose you'll be satisfied? The benefit of growing your own. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Good morning everyone

Thought I'd pop in for a moment to drop some quick hugs on my way to the kitchen to fix some breakfast.

:hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:

Morning hugs...... A personal speciality. :laughtwo:

I caught a few shots of the garden to share. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Blue Dream got herself caught up in the plug. They're resilient plants, and I'm sure she'll recover from her birth trauma. At least she shed both the hull and the membrane coming up. I take that as a good sign. :slide: if she's too lanky for my taste I can bury her deeper into the perlite when she gets transplanted.

Blue Dream (Day 1)

Welcome little one

We were talking about training the hempies over at Hempy Headquarters. All of mine have been topped in the past week, excepting Carnival 4.2. I didn't want to top her until she starts shooting out regular leaves, but it was time to do something about limiting vertical growth, so I went with simplicity.

IMG_94293.JPG

No blossoms yet from the tiny closet, but they've both taken on that color change they display right before bursting forth with early pistils.

IMG_94232.JPG

Devil's Carnival is just breathtaking, and almost at the limit of the light distance. By tomorrow I'll be forced to adapt another way to get that light up higher. I think I've worked out a usable plan. :laughtwo:

IMG_94211.JPG

Carnival 4.1 is being no slacker in the beauty department herself.

IMG_94251.JPG

I'll be catching up later. Time for breakfast and then on to watering the hempies with an eye to punch some holes in the pots for restraints to attach.

Before I go, let me take a moment to encourage an explosion of joyful expression in your Wednesday. Oh! It's Wednesday. :yahoo: I go walking with the girls tonight. :woohoo: Well, that ramped up my joy quotient. Lol!

So get out there and share your joy with all those souls lucky enough to cross your path today. Let's light up the universe with love. Sounds like a plan. I'll do my best over here next to the Mighty Mon to keep up with you. :battingeyelashes:

You don't blend them?

Playing with combinations is fun.

We smoke Delicatessen Lily almost exclusively in blends, because she is such a simple, straight-laced sativa, she needs a little help to be fun.

We blend Humboldt Seed Organization Bubba's Gift because she is like a grenadine or vermouth, not much by herself but she has a way of boosting the experience and impact of other strains. I'm looking forward to a blend of Carnival and Bubba's Gift, with maybe a touch of AK47 XTRM. Hawaiian would be great with those two, but I don't have any Hawaiian strains growing or seeds to sprout.

I'd like to grow a good indoor Hawaiian strain, any recommendations?

No, I don't mix strains together. I think what I like is the difference between hits, getting a pull in one direction and then another, sort of like stretching my mind ... ? I might feel like I want some lift, so I'll take a hit or two of a Haze. Then the next one might be a fruity hybrid for a calming rush ... I might want to zone out for awhile, so I'll do a heavier strain and then manage lethargy with some more Haze ... :slide:

I grew Hawaiian Snow, which was well-recommended, but my pheno was very fluffy and I was too much of a novice at the time to manage it well. I think OldMedMan? grew a nice one - it was a few years ago, but you should be able to search for it. It was one of the Hawaiian members, maybe not OMM. :hmmmm:

Me Tooo, Always looking for this. Nr nice, Spice looks interesting but not sure about indoor or out. Also looked into some Snowhigh Maui type beans and jordan of the islands, Blue Hawaiian. Not sure.

there was another place, I just cannot remember. An off the grid small breeder.

That is a couple of years in the future for me, possible grow thinking.

Just because best weed I had back in the 80s was this stuff my big bro brought hoem he said came from Hawaii. round little buds, lime green and gold with one hit and bang zoom to the moon.

I smoke DDA, which will darken up a bong overnight. :laughtwo: But then everything I smoke is covered in oils, so it all gums the works up. I use 91%, the best I can get in my neighborhood.

@sue what is osmo+?

It's shorthand for Osmocote Plus, a product of one of those companies we sometimes shy away from. It turns out to be a fairly reliable cannabis nutrient source that members have used successfully for many years.

I started using the Osmo + but then switched to the RX Green Solutions after trying them on Carnival 4.1. Her growth exploded, and she's now the most beautiful Carnival I've grown to date. But I still have four girls in hempy pots flowering with Osmo as their only nutrient source.

I love this idea of using the S hook as a weight.

They work well in a pinch Flower, but I usually switch them out quickly for something more stable, like this.

IMG_94352.JPG

The largest and heaviest S-hooks work best in my garden. When I supplement in the tiny closet with CFLs I use the S-hooks to restrain leaves so they don't get burnt to a crisp by my penchant for getting the lights right up into the plant. But they also fall easily if bumped.

Well guys, Blue Dream looks like she wants to be a contender for most determined. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

That's my girl. :cheesygrinsmiley:

That's what I thought. After seeing your stuff I ordered some cheap 8" pots to try out as hempy and got some perlite and coir. I don't know what nutrients I will use for them but I'll pass on the osmo+ for now. I think they will be a lot lighter and more convenient then soil for my hanging system.

The clones I took from outside look fine so far. No bugs showing yet at least. Now if it would just cool off I'm can start planting. I have them under a 5w light at 24 hours/day cause they were already starting to flower outside. But after a week or so I'm going to switch it to 18/6. They look real healthy in a small aeroponic cloner from eBay.

I do have a little runt and a young seedling outside I'm still contemplating bringing inside, but all the warnings of bugs has scared off my over eagerness plus the heat. Also those new pots will be arriving soon so I will at least wait for that.

Anyway thanks for your positivity!

Was it Sativa or indica type effects?

I mostly prefer indica effects, and most of the Hawaiian strains (on seedfinder) seem to have a Hawaiian sativa for the Hawaiian portion.
