SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

Mmmmm...... Smoking some of the low and slo dried Carnival tonight. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_91153.JPG

This has a new flavor that I haven't placed yet. It's an exaggeration of what I always refer to as "the buttery smell." Since no one's yet had any Carnival tested we're guessing at the terpenes. Someday it'd be nice to have a well-developed sniffer for the different terpenes. At the moment I'm a mere beginning student.

IMG_9114.PNG

I took three tiny hits, went into the kitchen for something long forgotten, decided to get the dishes done up and put away the carrot soup I'd made earlier. Before I was done the sink area and stove were sparkling clean. :laughtwo: You gotta love a strain that motivates you to detail the kitchen on a whim. Lol!

Oh yeah........ Nothing in the world like fresh Carnival, and this specially dried batch is exquisite. :slide:

3 is way low, ok, why it cornfused me...lol..in hempy isn't it optimal at 5.8-6.4 ish, soil below 7.0
So what pH is yer tap water Sue, mine is around 7.2 so I go buy the RO water from the machines at local grocery store, it runs around 6.2-6.4 ish

I rarely test my pH or runoff since it's always the same in and out..

Once my FF trio of nutes is out I may look at what u use.....
A pH of 3 is what white vinegar is. No wonder plants don't like it! Lemon juice is pH 2, battery acid is pH of 1.

I wish my tap water was 7.2! Mine is 8.2-8.4! For watering any of my orchids, other plants, or for aquarium water changes, I have to lower my pH !!

The adventure continues...

Before aspirin there was cannabis.

Before aspirin there was chewing on willow bark.

And meals. :laughtwo: All those years, they expected dinner every night!!! Lol!

My wife did the mean trick yesterday. We left the house and she told the 18yr old girl (who hasn't done much but socialize since leaving high school) "We are going out to dinner. Don't touch any of our leftovers. If you want to eat there is a thawed roast in the refrigerator - figure it out!"

It took her about 2 hours to start, but she figured it out :)

- - -

To be fair, the girl has been modeling for food one or two days a week, and she got a callback on the lead in a short film this afternoon, and today we saw a rough cut of the 8 minute art film shot 2 weeks ago where the family all appeared as extras. - So it's not like she hasn't been keeping busy this summer :)

That's the hope with my Blue Dream CBD 1:1 that is nearing harvest.

Dagnabit, Sue....now I have to add another strain to my wishlist!
Me, too. Although, LA, you and PWise inspired me to give cloning a go, given your successful forays. So I've got a few taken from some flowering plants. I'm also trying re-vegging a few plants with their top two thirds of buds already chopped off - Dooski inspired me there.
Ase and the terrific Scrog frame he's constructed has encouraged me to give that DIY project a go.
And SweetSue...just inspired me to take a walk around the lake on my street - where I saw 5 tiny baby swans (cygnets?) with their two fiercely protective parents posturing around them.
So...accumulatively, you've all inspired me to start a journal sooner rather than later - to pay it forward and hopefully inspire...someone to do...something!

There you go, Anna. Dive right in!

The flowering clones do take a while to reveg, but when they take off in veg growth again it is really obvious. The process is really fascinating to watch!

A extra-special addition to the seed bank. I've desired these ever since Slow Toke grew them so brilliantly. Thank you, my magical companion. :kisstwo:

Hey SuperSue, in yer 2l and 1g hempy, are they the final pots for those girls???

I know Tead is looking into 6"PVC for pots, I may entertain that myself

I'm in 3gal buckets now , so just thinking, yes I know it scares me too when I think...lol

May hit Lowe's and do some recon today on pipe and buckets, maybe another bag of perlite also

Oooo and it's a harvest day...Whitey is ready

Oooo...... HARVEST!!! :yahoo: Have a wonderful time Scorpio.

The success of Carn 4.1 has me thinking that they all need to go into pots that will better accomodate more root development. The 2ltrs make wonderful starters, and I already know I can get a vinegar bottle pot to a successful harvest and get in excess of 2 oz on a good day, so some will stay in the vinegar bottle pots.

I've been looking at the Dark Slide and thinking I need something more for her, but I don't want to go straight to a 3 gallon. What I'm noticing is something I'd forgotten that we learned with the SWICKS. Wicking up of perlite gets compromised when you pass a certain depth, so the top of my perlite in that big pot never really gets moist.

Thankfully that isn't a concern since Carn 4.1 was strongly rooted, and those roots are settled into the depth that gets easy access to water and nutrients, but I need to be cautious about the container.

I am really learning with the Hempy..

I looked at 6" PVC, and its actualy more spendy than the $2.00 3 gal buckets.. and the buckets seem to work very well.

Im gunna do some clone start testing and germinating seeds testing starting off in Hempy soon. Start in paper towels, into Root Riot cubes for one seed and one seed straight into a solo cup Hempy

I think a solo start, then maybe to a 2L or straight to 3gal bucket seems good. Lots of room in the 3gal for roots to grow and develop. I may look for a taller/narrower bucket or Garbage can to try also

Yes.. the addiction continues

You bet! :cheesygrinsmiley: There's a formula for getting life to be this sweet, you know. Wake up every morning so excited that you giggle with delight to have another opportunity to engage the universe in play. Take time out of your day to frequently look around and remind yourself how blessed you are, how delighted you are with the reality you create with that delicious start to your day.

Watch miracles happen with shocking regularity. Anyone can be this spoiled. Most of us are afraid to believe it's possible, so we shy from trying. If you don't try, you can't be disappointed if it didn't work, right?

If you don't try you just end up taking the long way to your heart's desires. Hope you enjoy the scenery along that pathway. :cheesygrinsmiley: If not, try deliberate waking and join the game. :battingeyelashes:

Yeah..... I'm feeling pretty powerfully joyful at the moment. :laughtwo: Starting community threads does that to me. All that positive energy puts me into overdrive. Lol! Let me get the updates posted. Where are those flow sheets.......

You deserve it dear:circle-of-love:

Hey Sue, I have a question for you. I just harvested 3 of my plants this week, first ever harvest. I put all the trim and fluffy buds in a zip lock and froze them as I have a bunch going on and can't get to attempting to make oil for the first time. For future harvests, should I do anything with those besides freeze them? Do I just leave the fluffy buds whole? Is there anything I can during the harvest time that will make the oil making procedure easier and smoother?

Weekly Update: Veg Shelf - Friday, July 28, 2017

Ok..... this low and slo Carnival has me typing slower than normal, losing my place. Lol! Bear with me. :battingeyelashes:

You know, at some point it's gonna get really crowded in here. I have 4 clones rooting on the floor yet. :thedoubletake: I have to say though, I've managed to start a nice mix of indica and sativa.

All of the hempy pots get RX Green Solutions Better Grow nutrients every other day. Yesterday was the last day they were watered, and they're all up to full strength.

IMG_91415.JPG

Lets start with the cutest one. :battingeyelashes:

Dark Slide 2 (Day 22). This one looks like she'll end up in a much larger container. I don't really want to go too big. I'll have to out there today and see what's available at the local dollar stores. A cheap bucket may work well - deep and squat like the vinegar bottles.

IMG_91423.JPG

IMG_91432.JPG

She shows great promise.

IMG_91444.JPG

Candy Cane 3 (Day 15) Starting to show some promise of her own. I'd like to see if I can coax this one into the 3-4 oz range. That'll call for some creative upcanning and timing.

IMG_91453.JPG

IMG_91463.JPG

Carnival 4.2 (Day 43) She's just now starting to send out new growth. I'm excited about the possibilities. I've never brought one back that far into flower. This is fascinating to watch. Look at the luster in her leaves! These nutes and lights are doing a bang-up job together.

IMG_91476.JPG

Another beauty on the rise. :slide:

IMG_91484.JPG

Lamb's Breath (Day 19) She had her first Energy drench yesterday and looks relieved. Lol!

IMG_91495.JPG

Neiko suspects this isn't true Lamb's Breath, since his finished much faster than a landrace should have been able to, but I know if it's a female it'll be good smoke. I'm ok with that. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_91504.JPG

Dark Slide (Day 24) She had her first Energy Drench last Sunday and perked right up.

IMG_91516.JPG

She's not as dramatic as her sister in hempy, but kit girls shine in their own way.

IMG_91525.JPG

Ultra Dawg 1.1 (Day 25) She's giving me lots of reason to be hopeful that I didn't do her irreparable harm with light stress.

IMG_91535.JPG

IMG_91548.JPG

Malawi (Day 14) Another couple days and I'll be able top her. She's about due for her own initial Energy drench. It's been almost two weeks since her last drink.

IMG_91556.JPG

Makes my mouth water just looking at her. Lol! I saved myself a small quantity of the gifted amount to smoke alone. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Canopy looks good.

On to the tiny closet. :ciao:

Weekly Update: Tiny Closet - Friday, July 28, 2017

No roots yet on any cuttings and no one gets checked today.

IMG_91275.JPG

Last night I decided there was too much light getting in, so I overlaid another blackout panel.

IMG_91404.JPG

IMG_91285.JPG

Carnival 4.1 (Day 62). I'll probably continue to water her every other day, dribbling the water over the perlite to get the upper roots. I don't think it'll matter in the end though, because the plant's roots will be into the reservoir. She is stunning, no?

IMG_91294.JPG

I switched out her base to drop her down a little.

IMG_91344.JPG

IMG_91304.JPG

Just 2 days into the flip. Things are still growing like mad.

IMG_91313.JPG

Devil's Carnival (Day 57) I broke out some Velcro and soft ties and wen to work this morning getting the canopy pulled down some.

Next up, the tents full of flowering wonder. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

Weekly Update: The Tents - Friday, July 28, 2017

Early Flowering tent

All of the hempy pots now flowering are with Osmo Plus, so they simply get pH-adjusted water with CaliMagic, at a rate of 2 tsp per gallon of water.

IMG_91606.JPG

IMG_91616.JPG

Thin Mint GSC (Day 53, flip + 16) Just breaking out the buds, she rises majestically from the back corner. I may switch out her container real soon here. This little 2ltr bottle won't let her express the joy I feel she has to offer us.

IMG_91624.JPG

IMG_91635.JPG

IMG_91645.JPG

IMG_91653.JPG

IMG_91673.JPG

Ultra Dawg (Day 84, flip + 16) She has the most incredible, overpowering smell. It hits something deep within me. I think she and I are gonna be a nice fit.

IMG_91713.JPG

CBD Critical Cure 2.2.1 (Day 84, flip + 2) Settling nicely into her new digs. No real change yet. Let's see if this one keeps her color.

IMG_91772.JPG

This tent is much easier to control the environment.

IMG_91785.JPG

Another glance before I move on. :dreamy:

IMG_91765.JPG

Late Flower tent

I'll be honest and admit that it hurts to look in here. Those two are so crispy I can't really believe they'renot till alive, much less pushing out pistils at the rate they are.

IMG_91794.JPG

Carnival 4 (Day 122, flip + 65) Like I said "ouch!" She has significant fading of the pistils going on at the lower regions, but just as many new pistils popping out to take their place, a fact that makes me smile when I notice how much thicker the colas are becoming.

IMG_91803.JPG

At least the extreme temps are momentary. I check in here regularly. It heats up quick in here if I don't get the air on early enough. This morning I slept in a bit. No harm done.

IMG_91814.JPG

IMG_91825.JPG

IMG_91834.JPG

IMG_91854.JPG

Candy Cane 2 (Day 75) Somewhere along the line she lost her vigor. She's still blooming though, so I won't be too concerned, but it'll be reassuring to get one through harvest with healthier leaves. Yes, I know we don't grow them for the leaves, but still......

IMG_91864.JPG

IMG_91876.JPG

IMG_91893.JPG

CBD Critical Cure 2.1.1 (Day 113, flip + 33) She had a TransWater drench this morning, a gallon split between top and bottom. Checking my notes I see I missed both foliars this week. Time to catch up. I'll set the alarm for a spray of Brix tonight just as lights go out...... Done!

IMG_91901.JPG

IMG_91922.JPG

IMG_91934.JPG

They do make lovely specimens. I have nothing but good to say about her. She went two full weeks between drenches this time, something I don't usually let happen once they get into flowering. Don't really know how that happened. Her next drench will be the Cat, and I won't wait two weeks to get it in. Lol!

IMG_91943.JPG

A parting shot of a particularly fetching bud on Candy Cane to close us out.

IMG_91953.JPG

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the end of the nickle tour. I do hope it generated a certain amount of joy that you can now go out and share with others as you progress through your day. I'm starving after all this. :laughtwo: Time to rustle up some lunch and another capsule. I'll be catching up throughout the day. I'm sure we'll run into each other somewhere. :circle-of-love:

Stop a while and enjoy some Star Dawg :passitleft:

Oh! What excellent timing Mr Am4zin. :hugs:  :hugs:
