SweetSue's Cannabis Oil Study Hall

Thank you Cajun.

This is what the Stanley Brothers & the Charlotte's Web popularity is all about.
If your not familiar with Green Refugees, it's the 100's of families that have moved to Colorado to find treatment (& grow) using cannabis for their child with epilepsy.

Colorado & it's physicians that use cannabis as a treatment for child epilepsy have been pretty good at it for awhile.
Look up the contact I sent.

I definitely believe you should steer clear of any specific treatment advice on this subject & anyone offering it on any social media site.
None of these doctors are publicly publishing specific treatment info that i know of.
Not finding it on the internet doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
There are 100's of families going through this & using cannabis as the treatment.
Hell, even most of the cannabis documentaries are about this subject.
The Vice channel has an entire episode about it on Weediquette.

Treatment for children...
Treatment for a child's epilepsy with cannabis has seen great results in real life, but is a very specialized field.
Mainly, due to the children, but also because the majority of succeses using mostly CBD if not 100% CBD.

The majority of larger cities here that are getting the Green Refugees, have had to change lots of stuff to accompany them. It's a pretty big deal & subject here.

The way overwhelming majority of out of state ppl who have relocated here to grow or use cannabis medically are parents that have a child with epilepsy.
Some cities are giving them special assistance.

Anyway, start there. You'll get to talk to an experienced, licensed doctor soon enough.

There's no other place in the world legally treating so many children with epilepsy.

I really wish the family well.
This is the toughest subject in medicinal cannabis. The parents are freakin' troopers though.
They sell everything they own to head out here to treat their babies.

If you can't find a contact soon, let it be known.

Thanks my friend!!! This is a start for them. :circle-of-love::peace:

I read up on Charlottes web and stanley bros a while back, as I recollect the first batch or two did help the girl with seizures , then something happened to the clone or another strain was introduced for mass production...something happened to the original formula( maybe?) and the seizures came back...then inconsistencies were found in CBD that some of these green refugees were getting from various vendors. Now I see the Charlottes web seeds are advertised correctly that they can vary in ratio of cbd/thc from seed to seed. Have to test every mother till you get the right combination cbd/thc. Who knows what the exact extraction method was for those first successful batches or what method of administering was used ( may not have been well documented). Could have been more or less of this or that. I think now you can buy CBD made from ditch weed ruderallys all in the name off the almighty dollar. Folks are very skeptical still when dealing with their kids and mostly want to try after it is too late and the the kid dies from earlier complications even though the cannabis seemed to be helping . Prolly should try to overlap the chemo and CBD/THC( turpines n flaviniodes) earlier on instead of waiting till the bitter end to try the cannabis.

That's the dream gudyul. I'm pretty sure that's what Cajun's hoping to do with his clinic. It sure will be nice to find ourself offering preventative suggestions most of the time.

I don't disagree with you.
Charlotte & her info were really the first that came to public attn.
There have been lots more, namely Hailey, that went from 100's of seizures to very little.

A big problem is the growers of CBD from marijuana & not hemp, are trying/& are making big-time money off their strains.
Also, since hemp CBD contains no there or very little cannabinoids, it just junk honestly.

I don't know what's out there on social media about these kids recently, but like I said, "Weediquette" did an entire episode on this subject.

The growers are there. So are the CBD strains & practitioners willing to use them.
It's just a slow connection in the beginning.

As far as what treatment to use & when to use cannabis?
That's one I don't touch & neither should you unless you've been there.
As in...opinions might be a constitutional right, but a quick way to show ignorance too.

I have 2 healthy kids & 4b healthy grandkids.
I work in the cannabis-as-medicine field for a living.
I couldn't imagine going through what these family's do.
It's truly heartbreaking & disgusting.
The only opinion I have is that I probably be in jail long ago if it were my child.

I came up against this one in the beginning and it taught me very quickly to refer the parents to sound advice from trained professionals in the field. They're talking about moving. I have great respect for what these parents live with and the control they exert over their own frustration. This disease destroys lives. I realize all disease has that potential, but to watch a family go through this......

It is truly heartbreaking to see how the children suffer an family too, and yes,I would probably, too, end up in jail if my child had epilepsy.
I have seen many documentaries and testimonials about how it helps children, when nothing else could and with guidance I wouldn't hesitate to administrate CBD to anyone.:circle-of-love:

Hey :hugs:Sue:hugs:

Got a quickie for you. Why can't I cook my hash in the oven and decarb in the process. Making a shakable decarbed powder to season or dose with ?

Thank you

Basically, the children have to enter conventional medicine, complete with chemo, chemicals, toxins, etc. or the kids will be taken away by the state.

Yes, I can't like this either.. it is so sad to see that you have the correct treatment in front of you and they still have to go through all the horrible chemo and medicine that doesn't help and seing siezures again and again...
I heard today that in my country, we are "allowed" to have cbd oil with less than 0.2 THC, which is one small step...for humanity and living a "normal life"
Still, I would sneek in necessary cbd/thc-cbd if it was necessary ANYTIME.

I'm curious, what do you make your tinctures with? I added some of my DDA VG tincture to my coffee tonight and it was marvelous.

So this batch was meant for massage oil? I'm glad you got a sample lick. :laughtwo: "Leave no cannabinoid behind" has always been my own motto.

You may be right about the blob, but CCO is some of the stickiest stuff on the planet, and near impossible to remove without more ethanol. Lol! I'm still searching for some implement I can use to work with CCO that it won't stick to.

How much of a kick gudyul?

Just the usual kick ..why does this food taste so yummy? why are these commercials on TV so funny? Hmm how long have I been sitting here asking myself all these questions...oh yeah I did lick the pan!

I am thinking to get the best of all the synergy in the plant to decarb raw cannabis for one hour @ 240 . THen do an overnight rinse in 151 to try and capture most of the terpenes and flavinoids along with some of the THC . After the rinse and squeeze, cook the rinsed cannabis in live oil 180 for 4 hours , chill, add lecithin cook another 2 hours , strain, repeat with fresh batch of already -been- rinsed- in -151 cannabis. I will reuse 151 the rinse a few times with fresh batch of decarbed, maybe throw in some non-decarbed trim as well .
Now i am armed with a strong tincture with terpines and flavinoids , thc-a, etc.. This tincture may be good for daytime use, the olive oil for night time as it may have more converted thc/cbn.

I may try to reduce some of the olive oil and some of the tincture together to make some blotter drops for those who have built up a tolerance. Hee Hee.

Wouldn't it be great to get these tested and find out what you're ending up with? Very creative buckaroo. Oh boy do I love the fun you're having with your lab rat duties. :laughtwo:

Terpenes & flavonoids are very volatile. The majority will be degraded in the decarb alone, the rest in such a long wash.
You're not retaining them. Not the way ya think.
Also, there's absolutely no reason to do an overnight wash in ethanol. We've posted lots of test results over time that show why we do a quick wash of several minutes.
All you're accomplishing really is pulling out tons of lipids, waxes & chlorophyll needlessly by processing so much.
We all put such stock in wanting to retain terpenoids, etc, but truth be told they are called volatile for a reason. They even begin to degrade in fresh flowers & leaves within a few hours if not immediately processed.
You will be retaining way more cannabinoids than terpenoids.

I saw the weediquette epi, I have seen most of them. I thought it was very interesting.
It is remarkable to see people change their mindset when the see something like this work for their child. A good watch.

Yeah, the majority of these kids are going from dozens of seizures a day to 1 every 3 days & in some cases weeks.
These kids & their results are the direct reason CBD- only had been passed even in ultra conservative states like Texas.
The law makers were moved & impressed.

They left out us adults needing THC, but it'll get there someday.
I'm still glad I stayed here on the front lines.

Cajun, Good grief, long time no talk....have been trying to catch up with you, running with my Nikes on to no avail....you have been quite elusive (busy) lately....

How the heck are ya; so you stayed in CO? Are you still traveling?

What say you on the hottest medical strains in that state lately....believe or not, my state offers some of the highest CBD strains on the planet, or so they say....have you ever heard of Cannatonic?

Always great to hear your perspective from ground zero....from what they say, my state is not legal recreationally, but our medical community is very progressive and demanding to keep us growers on our toes.....I'm loving it....

Hope you are happy and well, Cajun: you are the best! :circle-of-love:

Hey stranger!
Seems everytime I pop in you've been quiet for awhile.
Great to see you on here.
Yes, I stayed in Colorado. We're opening up a cannabis medical clinic (not dispensary) in Dec., Jan. at the latest. We've got all necessary permits & paperwork processed. We've also got most of the equipment now too.

I'm done with the cannabis lecture series this year. They're heading up North & I'm just too exhausted & busy to keep up.

I've definitely heard of Cannatonic! Great strain.
Bunch of great CBD strains come from it too.
For CBD, AC/DC & Harley Tzu are big here. So are Cannatonic off shoots.

The most popular strains are easily:
Blue Dream
Cherry OG
Durban Poison
Golden Goat (a local strain)
Flo (also local)
Bruce Banner #3
Jilli Bean
And any type of Diesel cross

I'm so glad & proud you got out there & made it happen, and are happy with it.
I keep trying to point out that behind a computer ain't gonna cut it if you wanna be "real". You've got to get out there & get your hands dirty. The difference in knowledge is just too much of a gap. Google doesn't solve everything. Ironic to say on a social media site & most can't or won't, ah, but those that do....
You sure did it! Congrats with all my heart. I knew you could do it.

Miss ya... Come down & check out what were doing!

hmm..i knew that lol ...Nobody seems to think those three things , lipids, wax n chlorophyll are good for anything medicinal. I'll freeze and strain off the wax n such.
