SweetSue's Cannabis Oil Study Hall

So here we have a case study ( 3) that it actually helps IBS too,
And I dare to say diverticulitis too,

Cannafan's been treating her IBS for years with CCO. We get edgy every time she has to stop for another damned drug test. There ought to be a law protecting patients from that crap. This corporate idea that cannabis use means you're a dangerous druggie is rediculous. It's even crazier that we allow it to persist.

Thanks for the hugs Birdie. They're always appreciated.

SO true.
I have gone from " ooo drugs (about cannabis) baaad for you..into 10000% cannabis gooooood for you just by reading and chatting with people ACTUAL persons medicating and getting better.

It has been a blessing and a true wonder to find 420mag and your journal Sue, THIS is so worth fighting for.
I am patiently waiting for next month when our government will decide..

But I know, loosing my kids is a totally entirely bad side of the hole thing..but I can't be silent anymore!!!

I also have noticed an improvement in my bowel movements when I remember to take the capsules. I use coconut oil instead of butter, because the butter upsets my stomach. And I don't have any real digestive issues, except occasional constipation, which happens when you get old. LOL!

Hi Ms Sue. Have a good day

Phrum the light room.

Hey all!

My still should arrive today and I can't wait to try my first batch of oil tonight!:cheertwo:

I've got 7 oz. of dried pulp leftover from juicing (leaves and buds) that should still have most of cannabinoids in it. 2 fifths of everclear. Going to buy jars, funnels and filters right now.

Question: What is the problem of not doing a quick wash? I've looked it up several times but have forgotten again. I've been drinking the juice with a little pulp in it with no stomach problems. Does the quick wash just make a cleaner product, or does it actually prevent unwanted effects?

Thanks.:high-five:

Primarily it gives a cleaner product, without the waxes and chlorophyll, among other things. It effects taste, but it also effects dosages, since you're eliminating as much as possible everything but the cannabinoids, terpenes and flavinoids. With CCO the intent is concentration of the basic medicinal components.

Some people react unfavorably to chlorophyll. I'm glad you're not one of them.

:yahoo: A new grow. I love it!! :slide:

Good to hear I'm not alone on the digestive modifications. This is actually a side effect people should know about, especially anyone on opiates or chemo, wouldn't you think? I don't believe I've seen it mentioned anywhere. I was aware they the ECS controlled the digestive system, just hadn't heard the consistent ingestion would soften the stools and change the color.

Yes, I think it would be critical knowledge for people requiring opiate treatment (I hate the damn things, I've lost two friends and a family member to addiction and abuse of opiates). My nephew is on the edge of dying from opiates too, in a downward spiral without much hope right now.

I have read much about IBS and Celiac treatments with MM. There is so much conflicting information posted all over the Interent concerning MJ and side effects. My take away from the reading would have been that is does help regulate bowel regularity and stool consistency. I have a relative with Celiac disease, which is a genetic autoimmune disorder where the ingestion of gluten leads to damage in the small intestine. She might benefit from MM, but she is way to classy to take the marijuana stuff! God love her ... no one else does it seems!

I can't say that smoking cannabis has had much effect on my gut habits in my lifetime. I usually only chew on a raw bud or two when smoking isn't an option, and two recent experiences with CCO (lab rat didn't die or OD). When I do bud munch, I feel a difference in my stomach and large intestines after an hour or so, much less grumbling and gurgling (Gall Bladder removed 30 years ago).

What a crappy subject Sue... sorry you know someone had to be immature.:thumb:

The caps have definitely helped with the output. Is that the cannabis or the coconut oil though? I feel like eating coconut oil on a regular basis would help with regularity and softening of the output.

On another note, I've used coconut oil for swishing orally and I've found that to be beneficial for eliminating/improving tartar, breath issues, and teeth whiteness. The only problem is it's not a whole lot of fun to swish coconut oil in your mouth for 20ish minutes a day.

:laughtwo: Someone had to say it Keith. Lol! It took me almost a month to bridge the subject. I started off asking Cajun in a PM, but he never responded. After a while I decided WTH. We talk about everything here.

That's interesting to hear about raw buds settling the gut. Something to remember. It also made my stomach growl, which reminded me that I'd neglected to have dinner this evening. :laughtwo: I think after this next post I'll get into the kitchen and amend that oversight, even if it is after midnight here.

Why would it need to be for 20 minutes Juan? I don't have any problem with the oil, as long as it's in liquid form. Let it begin to solidify and it makes me gag. After all this time pre-dosing with coconut oil I'm learning to enjoy the taste.

You make an interesting point - is it the cannabis oil or the coconut oil doing the most to change the stools? For some reason the coconut oil hadn't occurred to me, probably because I know that the ECS regulates the digestive and elimination systems, so I assumed.

You'd think that after 62 years I'd have learned not to make assumptions. I even have a sign to that effect on my front door to remind me.

For me it was definitely the CCO because I wasn't predosing with oil. It still could be both.

I am a goof I think I may have posted a congratulatory post on another thread. Congratulations on the nomination. You are awesome

Thank you, each and every one, for the congratulations. I'm never fully prepared for these things. It's very humbling and makes me want to be even better at it than I am. I'm spending today just breathing and feeling grateful that I stumbled through the gate here two years ago.

I just realized I missed my anniversary date. :laughtwo: Yes I did, it was the 12th. Lol! Alright, it's officially two years. Just the beginning. :circle-of-love:

supergroomer, thanks for the additional share. I'll tack it onto my notes. I'm so glad to hear it was something to help the wife. It's nice to have our obsessive hobby help those we love the most. :battingeyelashes:

Here's to Sue knocking it out of the park for MOTM!

Oops, I read the contest rules ... removed my comments

Made first batch of oil last night. The juicer had completely macerated the herb so there was really no way to avoid extracting plant matter. I followed the quick wash procedure anyway as practice for next batch. From now on I'll be juicing leaves only and make oil using dried bud only.

215 grams of ground leaf and bud extracted in 2 fifths of everclear. I thought of chilling overnight to separate some of the plant matter out, but no room in refrigerator or freezer and probably a futile effort considering it's completely black. Sorry to offend the quality police, but this is from recovered material so nothing but gain to be had here. Recovered 3/4 of everclear, so still has saved me about $25 already.

Final product 11 grams plus a little in the pan I'm trying to recover with olive oil. That's 1.5 gr per ounce of dried herb. That seems okay to me considering the amount of leaf included and some was already extracted in juicing. Tastes strong but not bad. Mixture of fruity (from black cherry soda and chernobyl) and skunky (from skunk #1) blends with chlorophyll taste that I've gotten used to from juicing. No idea how potent this is but it's enough to get me started tacking. Business is up and running!:high-five: :Namaste:

You're used to the taste. The quality police don't wander through my study hall. :laughtwo: Wouldn't it be nice to have some inexpensive way to have it tested?

Good work. Congrats on reclaiming the Everclear. Felt good, didn't it? Made the cost of the distiller worth it.

Alright now. Onto the business of healing. :high-five:
