SweetSue's Cannabis Oil Study Hall

Final results. Needed more oil. Best proportions (using the block beeswax) 1c grape seed, 1c coconut 1/2c (4oz) beeswax. This now has the right consistency. :circle-of-love::peace:

The "general" recipe I use, which is based on non-MMJ ointments, suggests to mix the beeswax at a 1:5 ratio with oil. I mixed at 1:5 and it seemed to come out "right". I just included the infused coconut oil as part of that "5" in the 1:5 ratio of beeswax to oil. I start with the beeswax and measure that (which is 1 "part"), then add the infused oil, then top with grapeseed or safflower, etc. to make the mix exact 1:5.

It seems you have a 1:4 ratio, which is probably close although a little thicker. Did you use a blender and "whip" it, or just pour as an ointment/salve?

Here's what my 1:5 looks like after I had a buddy try it out, which why the swirl marks:

Wow! A lot of activity going on here. supergroomer, thanks so much for the ongoing updates on the cream.

K, when you mixed the 5:1, what proportion of you 5 was infused coconut oil?

Jacob, good day, bright one. I'll have to remember to catch you early. :hugs:

AngryBird, thank you for setting up the fund. How long do you plan to keep it up?

I went to bed at 3 AM and slept until 10:30, the longest I've done in quite a while :woohoo: but it set my day out of pattern and I'm still trying to catch up. Starting into Callanetics right after I post this, so I won't be back on site for about three hours. I can't tell you how gratifying it is to see so many projects going at once. :circle-of-love:

Canyon, I'm months away from a harvest, but I may be able to do that side-by-side then. The Carnivals are looking like promising prospects. :yahoo:

Canna, :hugs:  Aren't birthday parties fun? I'm a big fan of cake. Lol!

ArcticBowl, I survived unscathed and came out stronger and more knowledgable. The universe and the generosity of a friend took almost all the sting out of the mishap. I'm a very blessed woman, and I know it.

If I missed anyone, it was unintentional. Keep up the good work guys. :hugs:

Later guys, :ciao:

Nis' Mother made jman some brownie bites with poo shaped brownie frosting.
They were sooooooo good, and everyone thought they were cute.

A woman after my own heart. Lol! :high-five:

Chewey , I know you'll be checking here, so this is for you:

When I make my cream base it's with 2 grams of bud for every 1/2 cup of coconut oil. I assume there are at least 150 mg of cannabinoids per gram, so that means I'm figuring this is approx. 300 mg of cannabinoids for every 1/2 cup of oil.

You're adding CCO to the carrier oil. I'd assume at least 300 mg cannabinoids for every 1mg/ml of CCO. So the comp would be 1mg of CCO for every 1/2 cup of coconut oil you're mixing it into. Then go with supergroomer's formula from earlier today.

I'm gonna make another stab at body sculpting. Haven't started yet. :laughtwo:

K, when you mixed the 5:1, what proportion of you 5 was infused coconut oil?

Well, doing it the way I described, you can vary the amount of infused oil used without effecting the consistency of the cream.

The recipes that I've seen posted say to add about 2 tsp of the infused oil to two ounces of the "cream base" (which is the beeswax "diluted" 1:5 with oil). This would make about 1/6 of the total volume the infused oil.

In my case, it was for my dad who has extremely severe pain, so I wanted to make is strong.

So, I infused about 125 ml's (4 oz) of coconut oil using kief, and then made 300 ml's (10 oz.) of cream. This means that, for the last batch, the infused oil (made with the kief!) accounted for about 40% of the total volume, or a little more than 2x the recommended strength, plus any additional possible potency gained by using kief instead of buds to infuse the oil.

NOTE: The 1/6 and 40% both are based on the total volume of the oil PLUS the beeswax and not just the 5-parts oil.

Hello all.
Ms. Sue, the SNS package is here ! Yippe e !
Thank you very berry much. You are a very gracious Queen among many other fine ladies here.
From the bottom of my heart I am appreciative more than I can tell you and others here.
I can show ya better.

SweetSue has gifted the MOTY SNS to my wife and myself.
I am not exactly sure what was involved or who was involved In deciding that I recieve this fantastic gift. But thank you powers that be.
I do know Duggan was a huge part. Thanks Duggan. Man as soon as I heard I was getting this it seems as though things got rough for you. I had to sit back and watch it play out for him knowin what a great and generous man he is. Couldn't do much here for him. Consoling words are beyond me most times. I try though.
This community is such a force of friendship and commeradery it's nearly unbelievable.
Examples of this can be observed here daily.

Seems as though if you keep your ear to the ground here, there is an overall message, of healing and self help mixed with familial commitment to one another.
After all to grow your own medicine you must be available to take on the responibilities of more lives than just your own. Helping your babies along successfully takes time and dedication beyond any understanding I previously had or most probably will.

Somehow, I found my way here and with you guys to boot.

Sincerely I wish you all the best of days ahead.

Jacob.

Phrum the light room.

Does anyone else find it therapeutic preparing the oil and filling the caps? I'm really enjoying the process. Testing the product is the icing on the cake.

I'm right there with you Juan. This was what I was doing at 2:45 AM this morning, earbuds feeding sappy love songs into the ear, humming away, happy as a lark.

Sometimes I think I must be the luckiest woman in the world. :laughtwo:

Good Morning every one!
I have a quick question for you all.
Do you feel as if your body heals quicker when using CCO?

I ask because last Thursday I took some skin off of my finger with a power washer, nothing horrible but it was pretty deep. Now on Tuesday its nearly all healed. I can't remember ever having something like this heal so quickly and the only thing I can think it is, its the olive oil infused capsules I'm taking twice a day.

This is an interesting observation, and some mighty quick healing. I'll have to be more alert to this. I typically brush right past minor injuries and forget all about them until I notice they've healed when I wasn't watching. Lol!

What I've been seeing in my own body recently has to do with the ear infection I've been battling for the past three weeks (wont go to the doctor and get antibiotics - the body's meant to heal). These have been known to hospitalize me, but this is the oddest episode I've ever experienced. I can feel the swelling, but there's no pain at all to speak of and I've had no temperature throughout. Highly unusual for my system. It hasn't gotten any better for quite a few days, but it hasn't gotten any worse either. Last night I stepped up treatment to include a garlic poultice while I slept in an attempt to fascilitate further healing. It's been fascinating that the only symptoms I'm dealing with really are fatigue and reduced hearing.

Let's keep an eye on this healing tendency as we go forward with the CBD experiments.

Morning Ms Sue.

Good morning Jacob. :hugs:  :hugs: .

An unexpected side effect that I have noticed since going on my five-CBD caps-a-day regimine is a change in the color and texture of my bowel movements, and I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this? They've become lighter in color, akin to what you see with babies, as a matter of fact, and softer in texture.

This change occurred at about one week into the protocol and it's persisted ever since.

That happens to me to, and i'm thankful for that. Since chemo I was stopped up but good, except when I wasn't stopped at all. CCO helped both extremes. But I can see how going from normal BM to soft swirly ones would be weird.

side note of irony: guess what I just told my girls to stop talking about at breakfast.

:Namaste:

Mr, Sue,
Interestingly enough is the fact that whenever we ate canna butter for long periods of time (Every day for 3 months or more-very very potent I might add) our stools seem to soften and lighten up as well. We noticed this from the last couple of years of our outdoor harvests. But alas, no forum to share it on back then, we never shared this with anyone but one another.
Thanks for reminding me.

I am glad that you are not suffering through your ear ache. Thanks be to Mary J and the people like you that work her for all she has blessed us with and more to come, I'm sure of it.
Anyhow I hope you get better. Actually I wish I could bring you some hot soup or a dish of your choice to be enjoyed and help to aid in your healing.

Hey guess what I planted my first Auto yesterday. Very very excited. Auto Destroyer it was. I hope to be able to say in seventy days or so we may have -dare I say- a successful harvest.

So here we have a case study ( 3) that it actually helps IBS too,
And I dare to say diverticulitis too,

Cuts and scrapes on my hands definitely heal quicker. Even better than before I had chemo. I hadn't realized just how much faster until you mentioned it.

:yahoo: A new grow. I love it!! :slide:

Good to hear I'm not alone on the digestive modifications. This is actually a side effect people should know about, especially anyone on opiates or chemo, wouldn't you think? I don't believe I've seen it mentioned anywhere. I was aware they the ECS controlled the digestive system, just hadn't heard the consistent ingestion would soften the stools and change the color.
