Sue,
Since no one has posted a question for you today (publicly anyways!), and I surely don't want you to feel lonely or underutilized, here I go with a pondering forethought.
Do you know the approximate shelf life of a syringe of CCO?
I would assume CCO would have a longer shelf life than fully prepared Caps as there would be fewer compounds to cause synergistic degeneration. I know I can freeze the plant, etc, but I want to process a fresh plant with as much retained terps and compounds are possible. I have been gifted access to a whole plant Blue Dream 1:1, THC:CBD once flowering is completed (about 2-3 weeks), and it looks like it should weigh in at around 3 lbs of vegetative matter above the soil. I want to process this whole plant right out of the ground, but wasn't sure if I might be making more CCO than can be used before spoilage might occur. I guess I could freeze the CCO in the syringe, I hope it wouldn't expand and break the syringe (Glass BD). I know it's a wonderful problem to contemplate ... too much CCO.
My son started his protocol on Monday, your dosing protocol thread is great stuff Sue, Thank You.
He is starting at:
Week 1 - 1 cap q.i.d. @ 40:1
Week 2 - 1 cap q.i.d. @ 30:1
Weeks 3 & 4 - determine best/optimal dosages @ 20:1
He has no Cannabis tolerance, so dosing and it's effects are much easier to discern. He has no signs of any negative effects after two days, and I thought the 40:1 would give his system a chance to adapt to the new constant Cannabis extract presence in his blood at a low dosage. You are so right Mommy Sue, it's difficult to dose a child at first, trepidation summed it up succinctly.
Thank you Sue, enjoy your DD!
