Stoner's RDWC & Soil Grow With Mixed Strains

and last post for the night for news is this update or more so photo drop. Clones in dome doing nothing humidity is really high and leaves are up nicely but look bone dry is this fine? I been hunting for my mister and they all full of insecticidal soaps. Other clone still sorta picking up steam she will be topped and hexlined? quadline but 6 not 4? idk anyways.. umm the tent is slowly kicking into stretch I hope but this is day 4 of 12/12, just think 1 more week and :meatballs:(this is me feeding them while they tower over my head) the Wedding Cake although delayed has the most pistils at the tips but that will be another days photo, without delay here is today's photos. Just remembered please look at this first bug pic the body is not thin like a gnat description but I say it is maybe a prego one?

Plants look great man. I finally got a prompt about your grow... funny how it works

:thanks: I think the notifications are funny sometimes like every day it shows me a "new" notification so I click and it was one I had seen from like last week

The hydro ladies are starting to eat a lot more the ppm hit like 605ppm yesterday before I put it up and this morning I continued bringing it up a little all the way to like 720 where it stabilized but now that is dropping again. The leaves if the pictures don't show are not too dark or showing any burns and I would like to put the sauce at 900-1000ppm next water change and see what they do. I will start at 900 and if after 3 days they are eating and not burning up I will shoot for that 1000ppm. I need to go buy another bit of pipe to make a second net before these ladies get too carried away; has anyone reading this used a double scrog net or know someone to tag in that would be able to say how far apart they left their 2 nets?
I used a second net once. It just seemed to get in the way more than anything else. I scrog everything. I never just use LST. If the plants need support then I use yoyos. Fairly cheap, and easy.

The first time i showed up was page 4... i just gota heads up today. So how you doing man? I just finished a grow and now I'm on my way back to the cave to slumber not to be seen again till November... or something like that. I gotta stop growing for a couple months so my solar panels can get caught up with the electricity ive used.

Are you digging hydro? If big plants are your objective you're heading the right direction. Heres a bud I just pulled a few days ago

Omg! You going to need bigger jars! Nice man. That grow went out of control. My first dwc and I vegged to long and should of defoliated more. When I flipped to flower the plants exploded everywhere. Lol
Man sometimes you never know. I had 4 in RDWC. In one pot I had a plant that did 2oz, right next to it, in the same pot, a plant did 26oz. Your plants looks great, i think you did well.

Thank you :Namaste: The party is just beginning this is the 6th day of 12/12, The hydro ladies are going to jump real soon I can feel it. They are now drinking a lot of water (I might decide on a way to measure one day lol) and they will eat like 30ppm every night. Even the pH is very active now and I am adjusting once a day
If you were to use a autofill float valve between an RO filter and a res. Hydrologic makes a meter. Ive never used it, but Ive thought about it to gauge the life left in my membranes. AND! Its not nosebleed expensive, which is amazing considering where it comes from

@Stltoed

I want the second net to not only support but also so I can see how full it's getting and position the colas. I also like that the net's frame keeps the tent walls away from the plants in neg air pressure.

I do love hydro it is great this is my second hydro grow, I have never quite gotten a nug like that tho wow:drool: but that sucks you can't run continuously.

I have a float valve hooked up to a storage tub to keep the rdwc system topped up but I like my time with the plants adding water and right now I am trying to increase the nutes as she uses them till she shows signs of burn so I don't have it hooked up to work, my RO filter and to think of it any water line is on the opposite side of the house sadly

Sounds like you got a plan. Do you usr Silica?

The grow schedule I used said to start it in flower but I do use it yes why?
Its important. Im sure you've read about it. Not only does it protect your plant, it builds it. Your floem and xylem (circulatory system for water and nutrients) become much stronger. The root crown and larger roots are more efficient. Back to protecting... on a cellular level it builds cell walls making it more difficult for things like powdery mildew to take hold

Thats unusual that it tells you you start in flower. By then a lot of the heavy lifting is over. It does do quite a bit in flower, trichome bodies are made up largely of Silica.

If I may... start Silica after typing the first time. Be sure you're plant grows up with it. I use Power Si. Its kind of a designer drug for plant additives, but it seems to work well. Its related to Facilitor which is killer, but way too expensive.

What brand Silica do you use? Have you had pH issues with it?

Next time I will give silica for the whole grow, this grow I was already adding it next water change.

I have rhino skin and have not noticed it but last time I did not have the ph monitor I have now

I've never used Rhino Skin. I know someone that seemed to have minor pH swings, but nothing hard-core.

Silica can be a problem child. When you mix up you nutes it should always be first in the water then mix for a little while. I add nutes directly to my res. Then I let it run overnight. This is overkill, but with Silica completely diluted it lessens negative interactions with other nutrients. Calcium and Micro then need to be added before the other nutes. Some Silica products like Armor Si can give you a pH of 11, so it should be mixed and pHed before adding to the party.

@Stltoed I use The AN sensi line grow and bloom with like 5 of the main supplements and in veg they say the a and b grow, voodoo juice, and b-52
I'm not sure what that means. Are you liking it?

Thank you I have always added the Si first and all those things in that order but I will be sure to watch the ph when I mix the res and after see what the Si does in a recirculating system
:thanks: :Namaste:

Its an amazing product, i recommend it to anyone who will listen. If you dont see an improvement in your plants try a different brand. Botanicare has Silica Blast. Its a mellow, pH stable product. I used it for quite a while without issues.

I was explaining what they said to add in case you would see why they don't have the silica listed idk
I can't imagine why, unless it would push your disolved solids too high. If that were the case I would rob from the others to make it fit. Veg, is where Silica shines

mini update
So I have caught a fly in my sticky trap out by the clones so that was a surprise lol keeps him off my plants so I am happy. I added dunk water to both soil ladies and I think they are in the Blue Dream more, several at her rim so I put a sticky pad there. The sticky pads do not have a lot more bugs on it even tho I see em flitting by the rim, I had the pad on the soil and rim now it is hanging beside rim we will wait and see. I have more water with dunk and I will keep adding for a while before just using sticky traps for a bit.
