Stoner's RDWC & Soil Grow With Mixed Strains

That's funny, I usually tag your dad in when I mention dunks, but you showed up automatically!
Haven’t seen him active much in the past day or so.
I learned about dunks from him, it’s just such an easy thing to do that doesn’t hurt anything. My gnats DO still show up, like clockwork, every grow. But those break their cycle. I’m lucky enough right now to be in a spot where there are almost no gnats at all, cause it’s hot this week and they’d be taking over.

Ok thank you @InTheShed and @13goody13 I now have the dunks, instructions say 1/4 dunk for 0.1-3.0 sq meter surface area of standing water. How much of a dunk would you advise goes into a 4l/1gal jug of water? Do you use them twice or discard after 24 hr soak

You mix them up and let them dissolve, let it sit, and then use it to mix your nute water.

From the man himself:
To use them effectively, you'll need to keep your plant water in a bucket or barrel,so you can treat the water with the dunks 24 hours before you use it on your plants.
I keep a 5 gallon bucket in the garage for my plant water-I drop half a dunk in the bucket every 3 weeks or so- they will populate the water with BTI ,the bacteria that kills the larva when they ingest it.
It takes about two waterings with the treated water to kill all the larva- so then you just wait 2 or 3 days for the adults to die off, and you'll be gnat free- so it's not an "instant" fix,but it does work
I just use the treated water on my plants all the time, to keep the gnats from coming back.
The BTI is harmless to everything except mosquito and soil gnat larva, so it doesn't hurt the plants.(or you)

If I understand correctly this should be the way to do it?
That's exactly right ! I just leave all the dunk residue in there, and pour it through a strainer when I dip it out for the plants- when it gets too residue-y in there, I just clean it out and start over, every couple of months usually- I've got to keep 10 gallons prepped now, because I've got 6 plants going, and they all seem to need water at the same time...

So I looked and in the tent there is 10 bugs I will have to identify at some point. I have the dunks soaking in a bucket, do I need to worry about the hydroton balls of the hydro system or only the solid media ladies?

:thanks: for showing up when I call.
Thanks for the tag!

I'd of been here sooner, but we had a lightning storm this morning that knocked the power out all day..

I love watching lighting storms but hate when they actually wreck stuff, glad your power is back

So the water ladies were eating a lot and so last night I gave them just bloom part a and b in the 1:1 to get ppm from 510 to 640 and since it is dropping again. I just watered the Blue Dream with week 1 of the sensi bloom schedule except only gave 8ml of the extras and 6ml each a and b bloom, this brought it to 930 ppm.

The Wedding Cake that was really droopy is now a lot perkier and her pot is a little lighter then when I added some plain RO water last night, this means she is drinking again so thank you everyone for the help on that :circle-of-love:.

The clones are just sitting there doing nothing except the one.

Thank you :Namaste: The party is just beginning this is the 6th day of 12/12, The hydro ladies are going to jump real soon I can feel it. They are now drinking a lot of water (I might decide on a way to measure one day lol) and they will eat like 30ppm every night. Even the pH is very active now and I am adjusting once a day

Well I can't get in to look at the tent as lights are off so lets look at some clones for now. Earlier I said when she is in the light I will top but I have since decided as soon as I see 1 root make it through the new dirt in the new pot I am declaring "Off With Your Head!!". Now I put 2 half full soap sprayers together and cleaned the empty one really well and I now have a mister but even without any mist we have 2 rooted cubes, I am sorta experimenting to see how long their roots get in my new tray design before sorta air pruning at the end but I think they will all end in promix after rooting the cube. The reason for this is I can not get a bubble bucket under a light and don't want to make a new thing for it this grow, My plan is to play with these clones to make myself happy during the day and when I have no more room or am ready to put back in tent I will pick my 2 fav and convince my good friend to adopt some more children. So ya enough talk about these clones is what I am hearing so why not some pictures.
:Namaste: :passitleft:

The hydro ladies are starting to eat a lot more the ppm hit like 605ppm yesterday before I put it up and this morning I continued bringing it up a little all the way to like 720 where it stabilized but now that is dropping again. The leaves if the pictures don't show are not too dark or showing any burns and I would like to put the sauce at 900-1000ppm next water change and see what they do. I will start at 900 and if after 3 days they are eating and not burning up I will shoot for that 1000ppm. I need to go buy another bit of pipe to make a second net before these ladies get too carried away; has anyone reading this used a double scrog net or know someone to tag in that would be able to say how far apart they left their 2 nets?

Hey @r0am1ng st0ner just caught up and just in time for the good stuff. Looking good buddy. I run around 900/1000 ppm, they should be fine.

I am always around and I will try to help. I like playing in the water! Stuff can grow quickly when your dialed in.
