Stocking Up For The Apocalypse: Goody's Perpetual Grow By The Beach 2020

Dad taught you well. :high-five: She looks gorgeous goody!
Thanks Mr. S!
Yes a lot of folks have learned a lot of things from that magic cardboard box of his, including me learning about autos and what they could really do.
Funny that we are both growing short sativas right now (same light same food, coincidence?) but I still haven’t nailed getting that many bud sites on my plants. Progress not perfection lol

Got pretty lucky on this one and without any training (just topped once) she’s really growing nicely.

There should be some real weight on this bush coming up soon.

Some GC flowers

Sativa flower takes quite a bit longer to develop than Indica. These have a really nice stout look to them and are not lacking in smell/color. The smell is bad, which of course means good :p
After smelling all these fruity dessert strains I’ll admit it’s kind of nice to smell cat pee and skunk again when I come into the room.

I love surprises and this GC has been one

Getting a nice pink/purple in the flowers, and more frosty every day.

I asked my girlfriend, who has a more objective nose, to smell it up close. She said it smells like citrus/candy up close and stinks from far away.
Music to my ears :yummy:

On another subject, I have a bag of FFOF for my next grow. Any pointers from my fellows here on differences with ProMix? I appreciate any input, seems like it’s a bit hotter soil. Better safe than sorry, I’m not afraid to ask. @Mr. Sauga @InTheShed ?

I’m about to harvest a bunch of great plants and need to clear out some space in the file cabinets.
A few days ago, I bought some gelatin capsules (size 00) and decided to take some of that excess flower and put it to use. I decarbed about 50g of gelato from last year’s harvest. Pure fridge dried flower. After decarb (240F for 90 min) and cooling, I put it through the food processor and turned it into powder. After a few struggles with technique, I got them all filled with as much as would fit in them.

My Mom is a great guinea pig for stuff like that. So she took 1, I took 2 at 1:30pm.
About 1 hour 40 minutes later, we both looked at each other at the same time (weird) and said ‘I’m high.’
Now it gets a bit funny. I was enjoying my nice new body high, exploring the side effects (definitely dry mouth/eyes and munchies) and happy it worked.
Meanwhile my Mom, a total lightweight was getting ‘stoned to the teeth’ or whatever @Carcass might say.

So about 6:30 pm she had her husband help her to bed and was still going strong. :laughtwo:
For me it was about 7 hours before it subsided.
I’m happy I have another way to dose myself and use up some excess.
Having too much great weed coming up is a really good problem to have. As much as I like full jars, I also like replacing what’s in the jars with even better product, and using up the old stuff in any way I can.

Green Crack is going to be one of those

Stay High my friends

This girl has so many trichomes just blanketing everything. That pink/red shade is starting to be noticeable everywhere, and may be a Mag deficiency due to cold temps out here. I don't think it's having any negative effects, but it's worth noting for Sativa's in the future. Thank you to @Virgin Ground for the head up on that one.

She’s a real looker at night

I'm currently feeding this girl a little cocktail-
Every Feeding:
Megacrop 4.8-5.2g/G, (depending on what else I'm adding)
GenHydro Floralicious Bloom Base Enhancer 1-1-1 (3ml)
CalMag 1-0-0 (3 ml)

Every other feeding:
Purpinator (4ml)
Sweet Candy (1g)
SuperThrive (1 ml)

So far only a tiny amount of spots/burn on a few sugar leaves.
I want to push her, but not too hard. Just enough to get that citrus smell to come through in the flavor.
These buds are gonna stick to the wall.

Any pointers from my fellows here on differences with ProMix?
I haven’t used the FFOF personally, but have read from others on 420 to sterilize it in the oven first. @Emilya recently mentioned this in her thread as the Ocean Forest mix seems to attract fungus gnats. I hope she can chime in with temps and duration.

Nice job using up the bud in capsules! ”Stoned to the teeth” is a perfect review!

love this! lol

Any rich soil will attract bugs if stored in an environment where they can get to it, especially if a little moisture is involved. When I sterilize my soil (another reason I love cloth grow bags) I simply throw a bag of soil in the oven. One 10 gallon bag will fit nicely or two 5g. They say that 20 minutes at 250 degrees will do it, but when I use a big 10g for this job, I let it go for an hour, just to be sure. The cloth bags do not retain the heat themselves, and they can be grabbed by hand right in the oven when they done and lifted out.

I will do that, it definitely can't hurt. Great idea doing it in the fabric pot.
I haven't had any problems with gnats in the last few grows (I mix mosquito bits right into my soil) but I know they can come back fast in the right conditions.
I like the idea of sterilization simply for the foreign bacteria/pathogen elimination. Same as putting seeds straight into the soil- the less my hands touch anything, the fewer problems I will have with extra bacteria later.
Thanks for the tip, that's one I don't want to learn the hard way (done that enough in my growing career lol) and now that soil seems like less of a liability to my next grow.

Love those hand grenade buds!

:bravo:

Me too! I'm hoping they blow up in my brain, not in my hand.

Crazy little freebie runt plant with no training, making a name for itself.

Cleaning up my storage area today, and the bottoms of some jars ended up becoming something more useful.
@Carcass LRx makes the best mellow tasting (and the most plentiful) hash. The rest was a mix of outdoor Gorilla Glue and indoor GelatOG.

Made about 5g from 6 presses, and did one of the newest @Weed Seeds Express Blueberry which is still really fresh but made some nice clear rosin. This way I feel less guilty about early smoking ;)

This all takes place in about 20 minutes in my kitchen if everything is in place and goes well.
Of course no one is home and it went super smooth, but you can bet if the Girlfriend was here I’d have sticky shit everywhere.
I love the press. I don’t even use mine that much but it’s very valuable and convenient.
If you’re thinking about getting one, get one twice the size you’re thinking. It makes the job so much easier.

Smoke the best, smash the rest.

Ms GC came to nearly a screeching halt on her water consumption today. That’s a good sign that she’s really close.

I’ll give her the rest of her 1/4 gallon and that may be all she gets for the next week. I want these little grenades to seek out every last drop of water in that soil before I chop her.
