Still Growing - SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Systems

Re: Still Growing - SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Sys

You need to inject some there and better do it organically. You can try with some calcium carbonate, lithothamnium, grinded egg shells, oyster powder or fishmeal. Adding some compost tea wouldn't hurt either.

Some fresh pics, it's just while I was taking them my battery went flat so there are only 3 plants. But that's ok I'll drop some next time :tokin: We've had some cloudy and rainy weather for the last 3 days, and rainstorm yesterday flipped one of Ultra Dogs. No harm done, I pulled it back. They are definitely hitting mid flowering cause buds are growing by the day. Bud worms in offense though, mostly on OG phenos. I took care of it and got some nice resin off of it, yeah you I could start making charas just now :tokin: More vanilla smell with spicy nutmeg on the top, and just a hint of cherry. Colombian is the best though with this skunky lemon thing. Surprising amount of resin, I'm happy I did some seeds. As far as the seeds after pollination it's not bad as I thought, they're growing few seeds here and there, but that's it. Temps keep around mid to high 70s, RH is around 60-70%, and that would be very good if it dragged on like that for 2-3 more weeks :surf:

Awesome! They all look great. Too bad about the !#$% worms. I keep looking for them on my plants. So far, so good.

Re: Still Growing - SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Sys

Yeah, more than last year, most likely due to wet days, they tend to crawl up after every rain. Fortunately only one bigger cola got damaged and it already grew back. The only bug I cannot fight off just by keeping the Brix up. But I don't want to spray either cause there's just not enough damage to be bothered with it. Now these two weeks will be crucial to test all these strains for mold, but I got a feeling this year I'm not gonna have it at all :wood::rollit:

I'll keep my finger crossed. Best of luck on a great finish!

Looking good my friend, looking real good. That Columbian is looking especially good, is that from a landrace? The Ultra Dog may be slow, but it is going to be awesome!

Re: Still Growing - SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Sys

I can't wait to have outdoors plants like these, I'm definitely getting into breeding, Con/TOAST you've done it again haha

It's Punto Rojo from Cannabiogen. I knew you would have 3 phenos here, but this is a surprise to me too, especially that these supposed to be slow growers. I looked it up a little bit but nobody wants to talk about the wide leaf pheno apart of some Colombian breeder who says "it's not as pure as the other ones", so he culled all of them as soon as he saw them. However this one is extremely fast grower and also above average resin producer. Smell is classic colombian, lemon with a hint of musk and wood. It might be the quickest landrace sativa I've grown so far!

Thx man! I do not really breed I just keep this line going, that's it :thumb:

An important aspect so many seem to minimize. We have many simply amazing strains thanks to some great breeders and, obviously, a few accidents, but maintaining some strain purity is necessary too.

Re: Still Growing - SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Sys

There is a lot of work going on with just keeping or propagating one line for sure, but it has to be done, and I believe every strain should be in perfect circumstances kept both as a seed and clones with particular traits :tokin:

Promised pics. I have to fight with bud worms, and so far I'm winning, but they attack more plants. Nice mid flowering smells everywhere, mostly spicy vanilla, and more more resin. No mold! I smoked a popcorn with some hand rubbed hash which I got when I was cutting off infected parts, and it's definitely an indica, very mellow so far :tokin:

:ganjamon: Man I want to be a worm in there for a day
or two.

:laughtwo:

Yep - you are feeding your worms too well.
I keep looking for them, but if they are around, I'm not finding them yet. I'm glad you let me know about them, though. TY!

One word about the worms my friend,,,,, well I guess that's 5 but anyways, Captain Jack's Dead Bug Brew. One dose 2-3 week prior to harvest and they are gone. If you see them, you got a lot you can't. Girls are looking great. GL and Keepem Green

I'll look into it next year. It's spinosad, isin't it? It always depends on the year, there were seasons I didn't even see them. Last year I found maybe 2 or 3, that's it. But this year there are more, better conditions for them to spread I guess. Nasty little bugs!

Re: Still Growing - SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Sys

Aurora Ultras update for your pleasure. Getting close here, really close. I've just checked the trichomes and they are mostly cloudy. I'll give them 7 to 10 days to put more weight, and then I'm taking them. Very frosty shit! I found 3 plants tipped over leaning on the blackberry bushes so I had to pull them straight, no damage done. I also caught two bud worms just in time before they entered the stem. All 5 plants are doing really well, and they are around 17 Brix. I took one broken branch with me, and it's drying now. There's not a lot of leaf on these plants, they just pump buds everywhere! It's hard to say what the final weight's gonna be, but a pound in total would be nice. Good weather, sunny with a little bit of wind, and all gals love it!

Ok, here we come!
