Stanks Switch It Up In 2019

Thank you for taking the time brother :nomo: :passitleft:

No trouble at all brother! :passitleft:
that's a good experiment van im experimenting on my grow to I went 10 minutes a day light dep starting today there at 11/13 it seems the stretch is a nice slow transition none of the stress the plant goes through when its just flipped all at once im going to do it that way next time I will likely stick to it!

Yeah its something I have wanted to do but was always tough in my previous set ups. We will see how it turns out in about 15 days LOL

Like the idea of a gradual transition to 12/12, it's how it occurs naturally. planning on starting that with my girl today.....learn something everyday!

I didn't see much stretch on my outdoor girls this year. I wanted to see how the effect is on the indoor girls trying it. I toyed with 15 min each day....or 30 min every other day. Went with that option as I was less like to forget to change it :hmmmm::ganjamon:
Stellar tutorial! Thanks for taking the time to put it together!

Grow on!

Thank you and glad some of you like it. I know not everyone appreciates dirt the say I do! :yahoo:

Nice tutorial on the soil build. One of these days.

Thanks bud....if ya ever have questions, you know where to find me! :thumb:

Alright y'all, today we have half of the flower tent for their weekly update. Still have a bit of work to do down in the tent today. Need to uppot the Afghani girl into her final 7 or 8 gallon pot (depending on which one I can find first) and I was going to up pot the Zkittlez but damn if that freaking thing ain't flowering out on me in the 16/8 tent :hmmmm:

Not really sure what I am going to do with it now. Its in a 2 gallon pot and I don't think I want to waste a bunch of soil on a plant thats looking to be on day 13/14 of flower. I might keep it in the 2 gallon and just let it go with a top dressing or two as necessary just to see what I get out of a small pot. Only other time I have grown a plant to completion in a 2 gallon was a clone off the Blue Dream and I got 65 grams off it in a 2 gallon pot.

The other option I am toying with is uppotting it to a 3 gallon just to give it a little extra soil. She's been in the 2 gallon since October 9th. Just gotta find out if I have any 3 gallon pots now.

This update will be a 2 part update since I am capped at a max of 40 pics per update.

Anywho....enough rambling lets take a look at some weed porn! :tommy: :goof:

Here is a shot of the flower tent after the ladies photo session.

Panama Haze (Fem) - ACE Seeds - Flip Day 31 (Day 16 with Pistils)

She continues to claw her way towards the lights. The tallest of the two main colas is turned so it can grow up outside the footprint of the light. The shorter of the two mains is about 4" from the light. You can see the leaves are showing their protest to the intensity of the Spyrdx at that distance. It is what it is.....cause I AIN'T Supercropping her. NOPE....AIN'T GONNA DO IT!! Worse comes to worse...I will throw a bamboo pole in the pot and guide the top where it will be outside the footprint as well.

Black Widow (Clone) - Mr Nice Seeds - Flip Day 31 (Day 17 With Pistils)

This one is turning to a really good looking gal. She is definitely showing her sativa side. I think Neiko said he ended up chopping his around the 14 week mark. If this goes that long, it will ride right next to the Panama Haze!

Hindu Kush (Fem) - Sensi Seeds - Flip Day 31 (Day 22 with Pistils)

Everything is rolling along nicely with the Hindu. Looks like the edges of the leaves are starting to darken up a little. Not sure if its genetics or the basement causing that. Basement temps are mid to high 50s at night and the tent gets up to about 70 during the lights on. Her Mango smell is changing.....still sweet but can't really put my nose on it. Liked the Mango smell better...but who knows what it will smell like by the time we are done. I find most plants will change their smells a couple times.

Sour Cherries (Clone) - Crockett Family Farms - Flip Day 31 (Day 22 with Pistils)

And last up we have Stanks current favorite. Smells are starting to sour up and become stronger :p . And she continues to grow out beautifully! Glad I kept a cut of this one!

And a bonus shot of the two transition ladies. I rotate them 90 degrees each day under the light.

Sour Cherries is next level! That Back Widow is stacking top to bottom, impressive!

Its a beautiful plant man. And so sour smelling!
ok penny is rite that black widow is pretty love the white green and purple hindu she is so happy sour cherries yum! :high-five:

Thank Sticky.....love the hindu as well. Looking forward to see just what on her is going to change colors! :passitleft:
They look so :hmmmm: stinky :hmmmm: smelly :thumb: STANKY:cheer:

Hey Dynamo...good to see ya bud. Yeah the Hindu and the Sour Cherries are really starting to smell nice!

:bongrip: Evening y'all! Bit of a long day here. Started off with mixing up another batch of our Stank Soil. Took some time to take pics of the process and what goes into. Being its winter here and the ground is frozen, I grabbed the tarp and set everything up to mix in the basement.

First off, I always pre-measure up all my amendments and dump them in a 3.5 gallon bucket before I am ready to mix the soil. This does two things....1, saves me time and 2, and more importantly lets me go through my ingredients to ensure I have everything I need. Nothing worse than getting halfway into adding amendments into the soil and realize you are out of oyster shell flour. Stank don't mix twice. If I find I am out of something, I have a day or two to get it, though I have been pretty good about stocking up extras of most stuff.

Anywho....here we go! :bong:

This is the area we are working in......

And here is most everything that goes into our soil. Now sometimes I use Pro mix and sometimes I use Coco in with the mix. I haven't come up with a definitive preference yet....but this batch is using Coco.

I use Roots Organic Soil as the base for my mix....2 bags along with a 30 lb bag of Wiggle Earth Worm Castings, a bag of Alaskan Humus, Bio-Char, and in the bucket are all the dry amendments.....which you can see here......

So...I break open the two bags of Roots, add the Humus and EWC and we are looking like this.....

Now to make sure my amendments are mixed up good...I take the bucket of stuff and dump it in a trash bag

I Close the bag and carefully mix everything up . When I think I am done, I mix it up some more and then finish everything off by going through it with my hands and breaking up any chunks of stuff. When its all done, this is what it looks like.

Back in the bucket it goes.....since the bucket makes it easier to pour than trying to do it out of a 50 gallon trash bag. From there....I add it to the pile of stuff. Time for the hard part....mixing it all up. I probably go overboard, but I like to make sure everything is mixed really well.

When I have mixed everything up really well.....it looks like this.....

Time to add the peat moss or the coco now....depending on what i am using. It likes to clump together so I go through by hand and try to break up most of the lumps.

Another good mixing and here is what we are playing with now.....almost done. Couple more steps....

Up next are all my beneficials. I add Mykos and Azos to it and then begin wetting it down with 2 gallons of water before mixing again...

After mixing it well....time to add in more water....another 2 gallons followed but a good thorough mixing and then 1 last gallon for a total of 5 gallons. When its all finished....this is what we are left with. There may be a few small clumps of humus or coco but not much.

After that....it was time to break out one of the old tents. I need to flip two more plants and I don't have room in the flower tent....so the old 2x4 was dusted off. Before I did anything, I cleaned the piss outta this thing. Vinegar is your friend when cleaning tents, but don't spray near the plants! Got the tent cleaned (poles as well) both inside and out and set up. I broke out the Perfect Sun Dwarf Star and dropped the Slurricane and the Labyrinth in it to start their slow transition into flower.

Slurricane is on Veg Day 96. I haven't been doing much with here the last week or so...just letting her go. I cleaned her just a touch today. A couple quick pics of her....

Labyrinth is on Veg Day 89. Same story with her. Both she and the Slurricane got a gallon of water along with a little top dressing.

And a little peak into the flower tent as well......long day in there as well. Spent time looking them over, checking for signs of anything being wrong, any pests, and making a few small adjustments. Also do their waterings as well. Everyone got watered in there today.

Nice soil tutorial, thanks. I want to dive in there!

Thnx for highlighting this @stoneotter :cheer: , totally missed this :O

@Van Stank this is GOLDEN info my friend. at this stage its all about the buckets for me, though i'm sure a soil stage will come back to me every now and then:thanks::hugs:

Thank you and glad some of you like it. I know not everyone appreciates dirt the say I do! :yahoo:
I love dirt. Gardening/growing's sometimes just an excuse to be in the dirt!

Thanks for the kind words brother! I have grown a few that I was less than impressed with. Considering they grow in the same soil, under the same light, gotta just be less than good genetics.

Hey I understand the physical demands of growing in soil very well brother so you gotta stick to what works for you!

:thumb:

Garden looking stellar as always. Panama!

Thank you Amy, always nice to see you! I am excited for that Panama....but I know I have a LONG ways to go. I figure she probably has another 75-80 days :thedoubletake:

I love dirt. Gardening/growing's sometimes just an excuse to be in the dirt!

Very nice....always nice to find another dirt monkey! :slide::passitleft:

...they are beautiful!... :thumb: but the b Black Widow and Sour Cherry really stand out to me......
