Thank you for taking the time brother
that's a good experiment van im experimenting on my grow to I went 10 minutes a day light dep starting today there at 11/13 it seems the stretch is a nice slow transition none of the stress the plant goes through when its just flipped all at once im going to do it that way next time I will likely stick to it!
Like the idea of a gradual transition to 12/12, it's how it occurs naturally. planning on starting that with my girl today.....learn something everyday!
Stellar tutorial! Thanks for taking the time to put it together!
Grow on!

Nice soil tutorial, thanks. I want to dive in there!Evening y'all! Bit of a long day here. Started off with mixing up another batch of our Stank Soil. Took some time to take pics of the process and what goes into. Being its winter here and the ground is frozen, I grabbed the tarp and set everything up to mix in the basement.
First off, I always pre-measure up all my amendments and dump them in a 3.5 gallon bucket before I am ready to mix the soil. This does two things....1, saves me time and 2, and more importantly lets me go through my ingredients to ensure I have everything I need. Nothing worse than getting halfway into adding amendments into the soil and realize you are out of oyster shell flour. Stank don't mix twice. If I find I am out of something, I have a day or two to get it, though I have been pretty good about stocking up extras of most stuff.
Anywho....here we go!
This is the area we are working in......
And here is most everything that goes into our soil. Now sometimes I use Pro mix and sometimes I use Coco in with the mix. I haven't come up with a definitive preference yet....but this batch is using Coco.
I use Roots Organic Soil as the base for my mix....2 bags along with a 30 lb bag of Wiggle Earth Worm Castings, a bag of Alaskan Humus, Bio-Char, and in the bucket are all the dry amendments.....which you can see here......
So...I break open the two bags of Roots, add the Humus and EWC and we are looking like this.....
Now to make sure my amendments are mixed up good...I take the bucket of stuff and dump it in a trash bag
I Close the bag and carefully mix everything up . When I think I am done, I mix it up some more and then finish everything off by going through it with my hands and breaking up any chunks of stuff. When its all done, this is what it looks like.
Back in the bucket it goes.....since the bucket makes it easier to pour than trying to do it out of a 50 gallon trash bag. From there....I add it to the pile of stuff. Time for the hard part....mixing it all up. I probably go overboard, but I like to make sure everything is mixed really well.
When I have mixed everything up really well.....it looks like this.....
Time to add the peat moss or the coco now....depending on what i am using. It likes to clump together so I go through by hand and try to break up most of the lumps.
Another good mixing and here is what we are playing with now.....almost done. Couple more steps....
Up next are all my beneficials. I add Mykos and Azos to it and then begin wetting it down with 2 gallons of water before mixing again...
After mixing it well....time to add in more water....another 2 gallons followed but a good thorough mixing and then 1 last gallon for a total of 5 gallons. When its all finished....this is what we are left with. There may be a few small clumps of humus or coco but not much.
After that....it was time to break out one of the old tents. I need to flip two more plants and I don't have room in the flower tent....so the old 2x4 was dusted off. Before I did anything, I cleaned the piss outta this thing. Vinegar is your friend when cleaning tents, but don't spray near the plants! Got the tent cleaned (poles as well) both inside and out and set up. I broke out the Perfect Sun Dwarf Star and dropped the Slurricane and the Labyrinth in it to start their slow transition into flower.
Slurricane is on Veg Day 96. I haven't been doing much with here the last week or so...just letting her go. I cleaned her just a touch today. A couple quick pics of her....
Labyrinth is on Veg Day 89. Same story with her. Both she and the Slurricane got a gallon of water along with a little top dressing.
And a little peak into the flower tent as well......long day in there as well. Spent time looking them over, checking for signs of anything being wrong, any pests, and making a few small adjustments. Also do their waterings as well. Everyone got watered in there today.
