Stanks Go Perpetual In 2018!

Veg Tent Update

Just wanted to do a quick summary update of everything we have going on here in Stankville.

On the back row, starting from left to right we have Stankberry #1 (female....36 days in Veg), Nukehead #2 (female....59 days in veg), Nukehead #1 (slow growing female.....59 days in veg).

The middle row, starting from left to right we have Stankberry #2 (male.....36 days in veg), Harlequin #2 (female....47 days in veg), Blue Dream (female.....32 days in veg).

Front row, starting from the left we have Jack Herer Auto (female....25 days from seed) and Northern Lights (female....veg day 3).

We also have Ms Stanks male Harlequin in the downstairs tent on day 2 of flower transition.

Next up to be grow will be White Widow (mine) in 10 days or so.....and then Hindu Kush (Ms Stank's) two weeks after that.

Lush looking tent VS and Ms S! Assuming there are no monkey wrenches it looks like a reasonable production line.

I have a male plant question: Do males eventually produce pollen in veg or do they need to be flipped as well?
They do start to produce pollen sacks in veg (at least my ATF #4 male did), but they really need to go into flower to start splooging everywhere. I didn't see any burst pollen sacks from my ATF #4 in veg though. Then I took clones off him, waited for them to root and then I ditched the male and used his clone for breeding (he was far too big at that point to use...he would have made a total mess of the house....LOL)

No more snow, I need to sit in the sun just as much as my plants, if this keeps up I'm going to sit in my tent with the plants!
Its not looking terrible for you out there brother. We are going to get about a foot I am pretty sure.

I really do love the snow and winter in general. When you grew up in Florida and spent most of your adult life stationed in hot ass places where you can never stay cool.....you learn to appreciate the seasons and the winter.

So once you knew it was a male it was already too big to flip, so you cloned it and flipped the clones (when they were still small) to get pollen. Got it. Thanks!
Well it wasn't that it was too big to flip......I wanted my first grow to be bud only. I was saving the male for the 2nd grow. But my breeding tent was too small for him by the time it came around to do that.....so to make him fit in the small tent with the female, I had to clone him and keep him small.

Quick Blue Dream Update

I posted the pics of the Blue Dream after its first defoliation yesterday. Hurt to cut her up, but I am happy to report she is back to kicking ass! (I have a serious crush on this girl...don't get jelly Ms Stank lol) She is happy and doesn't show any signs of being mad at me for giving her a hair cut. I think the ACT helps recovery on them.

Holy smokes stank. Those said thank you for opening up wow :goodjob:

Ms Stank and I are trying to refine a training technique that will allow easier pollen harvesting. I recommend getting a small to medium sized mirror (I like something about 8"x11" or even 11"x 17") so that you can tap the branches once the sacks burst so that the pollen will fall onto the mirror.

I wonder how much of the pollen that falls when you tap on the branch actually falls onto the mirror, and how much is airborne looking for a pistil?

Wow that BD defoil really kicked her up .. she's ready to go into flower??? Well she's eager to go into flower from the looks of her.

I think they thought you were going to change the lighting!!!

All the VEG girls looking mighty fine.

Yeah wow how about shoveling that wet snow huh. We got hit pretty good last week locally here we got 14" ... I tried to wait it out before shoveling... that was a bitch.

I'm in pretty good shape and my back was in spasms... that hurt.

Hopefully spring spring spring... right around the corner.

Man your girls like GREAT... G/L with the next round of flowers!

We are up to 20" inches here and a few more hours to go brother. Gotta get ready to head out and shovel. Took my oil already, gonna rub some topical on it and then hit the bong on the way out the door. Not sure how much we will get done tonight but we are going to give it a go and see how the back (me) and elbow (Ms Stank) do.

No, the Blue Dream is no where near ready for flower. She is only on Veg Day 33 and she is supposed to go 60 days before I flip. I might have my work cut out for getting her to there in a manageable size. I think she is going to be a beast for sure!

Hey VS!

The great thing about a perpetual grow is that no matter when you start following, there's always action going on! I'm just fashionably late.

I'm planning to give soil a try and grow some autoflowers outside this summer, and I asked on my journal if anyone could recommend good journals to follow to that end - yours was the first suggested (by our buddy @Derbybud).

Your plants look great - I'll pull up a chair and see how it's done!

Stankberry Veg Day 36

Figure I better post this update now before I forget. The Stanks are rolling along nicely. Last update on female before I flip her and the big Nukehead. Will be defoliating her tonight or tomorrow for the flip and then will give her a 24 hour period of darkness before going 12/12.

I hope she flowers as well as she grew in veg!

The male is looking great still. He will stay in veg for a while longer. I will continue to see how he grows and progresses and I might possibly get some pollen from him via a clone. No set plan for him other than to continue to observe how he grows (which is great) in veg.

Stankberrys

Stankberry #1 (female)

Stankberry #2 (male)

Alright....on that note, I am going to smoke a bowl, load up the vape pen and go do some serious shoveling. See ya'll tomorrow!
