Ok, so the 3-2-1 method is basically hours. 3 hours of direct smoke....keep it smoking good for that three hours and then the smoking part is done. Now on to the "2". The "2" is two hours wrapped in foil with some sort of liquid. I generally use some apple juice. I put the rack of ribs bone down and pour the juice underneath it. Not enough to soak the whole rack but maybe a 1/4 cup. When your "2" is done, its time to unwrap and back on the smoker WITH NO SMOKE now.....just charcoal. Unwrap and if you want to put on any sauce or glaze, the "1" is the next hour where you mop or glaze your ribs.
So 3 hours of smoke
2 hours of wrap where its steaming the apple juice or other liquid into the meat
1 hour of mop or glaze.......3-2-1
My ribs are never dry and always fall right between fall off the bones and just a little bit of pressure to get a bit. Its tough with today and doing 4 racks that are all a little different in thickness. So for that I put the thicker closer to the side box where the temps are about 10 degrees hotter than the back of the smoker (where I put the thinner racks). There might be a little variation in the doneness but any of the 4 will be delicious.
Okay, I am encountering something new to me and need some advice, suggestions. I have two Northern Light plants growing in my small tent that I use for breeding. One of the Northern Light plants is a Sensi Seeds version. The other a Nirvana (Seedsman) Northern Light IBL version. I sprayed the heck out of the Sensi plant with feminizing spray to make boy parts which I have been able to do. All that aside, here is my problem. Both plants continued to stretch and are now inches from the light. The pistils on the top of the plant are curling up prematurely. I think from the light being too bright, not from heat. I wanted to learn how to super crop them but am not sure I can as the stalks are very woody/hard/firm and not the least bit pliable. I think if I were to bend them over they might snap off. The light is as high as it can go. What do you guys think?
Pinch stem where you wanna bend it before you bend.. then genlty crack it over.
Congrats on the LB Van. That girl was the beast you thought she was.
I do it like that but for the 2-1 I wrap em in foil and bake in oven @250 then unwrap and mop for the 1 or until separation. Alway delish and never dry. Stank got a good method that works every time. Man I love ribs.
Congrats on your harvest Stank - that bud looks tasty too. Bud rot... I hate that as bad as mites. As much as I hate sayin this, mites can wash off. Prefer to not have to deal with it. Why I don't run much this time of year.
Try Horsetail fern tea sprayed on in veg to mid way in flower. Kills the spores. Mold can happen in a heart beat when it gets humid. Right now here, the dew point is about the same as the outdoor temps at night so think walking in soup. Yuk. Plants suffer in this shit. I start sweating just thinking about it.
Lots of fires every where. Prayers out the to firefighters and to the folks living in the danger zones. Cali and Ontario getting hit hard.
Hey Van,
A wish, became a goal, became reality... Woo Hoo on the 1LB plant.
I
Van, congrats on the LB. Was this done with the Spdryx+ Light? and were you using the C02?
Congrats on the harvest Van, that was an impression girl for sure
Sweet harvest, job well done!
@beez0404 wrap a little tape around the split portion and they should be fine.
Nice work bro!
Dreaming of LBs......
Share some root porn when you up pot. Those are impressive in 1sNorthern Light Clone 1.2 Day 71
Haven't shown any pics of the clones in about a month. Here is the Northern Lights that Ms Stank is growing out to cross with the Harlequin. She is getting flipped this week since she's had about week to adjust to her 5 gallon pot. She got a drink of ACT yesterday in prep for moving upstairs. Ms Stank has to do her final inspection to make sure she is clear of any possible infestation. Gonna spray her again tomorrow just to make sure!
