Stanks Go Perpetual In 2018!

I will take a clone or two off her right before I flip her to make feminized seeds from.

You know I'm learning about breeding and seed making. If you make feminized seeds of the BCP they would be S1 seeds correct? I have been reading and it seems plants grown from S1 seeds have a stronger chance to hermaphrodite on you. Is that accurate or did I interpret is incorrectly?

Well, In-House Genetics sells BCP as feminized seeds so the plant itself would have been from an S1 seed. Any subsequent seeds made from a feminized seed would technically be an S2 or later (assuming the mother was only an S1).

As far as 'S' seeds being more prone to being a hermaphrodite, i don't know. Are you referring to being prone to throw nanners as being a hermaphrodite?

I think the term I read was hermie. You have a greater chance the plant will hermie on you.

Probably no more prone than an f1, I saw where Seed Junky believes most of these intersex plants are from flipping immature females to 12/12. Grow a clone of the immature female and no nanners but the clone will be mature before it's flipped.

Well I just want to make sure you are clear there is a difference between Nanners and a full on Hermie plant. Many people will say that a plant that throws a few nanners (like the Blue Dream I was growing) went hermie....but that is incorrect. I have never experience a real hermie.

Worms, worm worms! so do they like poop all throughout the soil? Or should I pull the dirt in layers? Asking for a friend lol. please post the de worming tutorial so I can check it out. Thanks

And sorry to hear about the bugs. Damn things are inevitable I feel. In some form theyll be in your garden at some point....

@Pennywise I hadn't heard that about the early 12 12. Kinda makes sense if a bean sprouts naturally late in the season for it to create it's own pollen.

And correct me if I am wrong van but you can have a femenized f5. My strawberry kush are femenized F5s. I assume they took the strongest most similar f4 girls and reversed 1 to create the 5th gen. Or am I wayyyy off there?

They are doing well....we need to harvest the worms from one bin and seed the next couple in the works. I think maybe Wednesday we will do it.
When you say harvest do you mean (re)move them from the finished VC? I have done it diff ways, but the 2 that worked for me 1) pour out the VC on a tarp in the light and peel away layers of the VC as the worms keep heading to the center...they end up in a ball. Messy but effective. 2) Scrape off the top layer of VC in the bin every 30 minutes (in the light) and they will head down in the bin....less mess but you'll leave some VC behind.

I did increase the amount of Neem that i used for the last bath by just a little bit. Didn't seem to like it but I can't say how pleased I am with the results of this technique, just gotta perfect the amounts and timeline for letting the Neem in the bath dry or settle in.

Glad I am feeling better as well. Was running a fever near 102 for a while but I think I have it beat. Was only running 99-100 yesterday.

Its awful being flu type sick - very glad you’re coming out of it Van (tha man!)
I like the sound of that Harlequin and NL cross... I like it a lot! Nice one ms stank :thumb: It sounds like super medicinal potential right there. I’d join the pheno hunt on that one!

Nice work working out the Neem bath - sometimes a little sacrifice happens in the service of perfecting something. It actually looks better than I’d thought, based on your telling. :) it’ll bounce back happy I’m sure.

heya Stank,

still following along quietly here. You NL looks so nice, glad you are enjoying it and didn't loose to much to much to the dreaded mold. Mine are still going along, day 44 or so of 12/12, had some problems with them getting close to the light but I fixed it all up. Anyway just popping in to say keep up the good work and thanks again for all the sharing and information.

cheers

Well I can't speak for what the standard breeding practice is Dabber, but I can give you two answers to your F5 question. First one is they grew out a bunch of F4 seeds and selected the male or males and the female or females (many breeders will use multiple males and females for genetic diversity or whatever reason) and do an open pollinate among them all. Not an uncommon practice at all

Another option will be to keep working a F4 female that you like and cross it to the original male of the line.

I don't know a whole lot that do much reversing to further the F generation. Honestly I would imagine if you asked 10 different breeders out there, you would get at least a few different answers to how they work their lines (if they even do.....as we all know they love to create new strains but rarely work them past F2s).

Yes, I mean remove them from the soil via the tarp in the sun and drive them to the center in a little ball. From there, I have 3 new bins that I need to start seeding, each with about 15 gallons of soil in them.

Yeah I am not a real 'good' sick patient. I tend to not rest enough or sleep enough. Cannabis can help with that if I let it LOL, but it can also help me be me (I can get a lot of stuff done with a good sativa)

Yeah I am very interested in that NL x Harley Cross. I probably wouldn't have thought of it as a cross but I am glad she is thinking when I'm not!

Yeah I know that the BCP wasn't that bad, I just hate throwing up bad pictures of someone else's genetics that I have jacked up. Hate to think that someone would be scrolling through here and see "In House Genetics Black Cherry Punch" and be dissuaded about buying them because I jacked this one up. I wouldn't have any hesitation if it was something unknown or something in the genetics or if it was my own strain.

Sh*t happens. Now you'll show how strong the genetics are. It looks like just the new growth, can you just cut the grumpy parts back? I can't really tell how deep it goes.

Just doing a drive-by... Ouch,,, but like said,, she still looks healthy under there. GL

We have final weights on the Northern Lights after 10 days of drying.

Talk about close....really close!

Without factoring in some testers I have set around, we have a grand total of 453.77 grams. It takes 453.59 grams for a pound.......so we have just barely hit that fateful mark!!! I knew it was gonna be close!

Congrats! That's a friggin' haul right there!
:high-five:

Here is a small tester......this literally was the difference in hitting a pound or being just under it!
