Stanks Go Perpetual In 2018!

Initial Numbers for 1st run With the new light

Now that the Blue Dream is just about done drying....I am ready to share my initial numbers under the Spydrx Plus.
I know that I didn't always have all 6 plants in the tent the whole harvest window but I had these 6 in there together most of the flower window. I only moved the Jack down to the veg tent when I needed to make room for the Northern Lights. Had I not needed to do that, all 6 would have been together then entire time.

Total yield = 820 grams (still a few grams up in the air with the second harvest off the blue dream that is still drying.....could be as low as 815 or as high as 830.

Grams per Watt = 1.24 (Spydrx Plus pulls 660 from the wall supposedly)

Grams per Square foot = 51.25

Yield per Plant = 4.88 Ounces per plant or 136.6 grams per plant

Final numbers per strain:

Stankberry - 5 gallon pot - 153 grams (5.46 Oz)
Nukehead #1 - 7 gallon pot - 101 grams (3.6 Oz)
Nukehead #2 - 7 gallon pot - 86 grams (3.07 Oz)
Harlequin - 7 gallon pot - 130 grams (4.64 Oz)
Jack Herer Auto - 8 gallon pot - 170 grams (6.07 Oz)
Blue Dream - 10 gallon pot - 180 grams (6.42 Oz)

Overall very pleased with the numbers. I stated early on the goal was about 5 ounces per plant initially with this light and we came close. I think if we weren't running two particular strains, we would have exceeded it easily. I think we would have also hit the 2 lb mark for a 4x4 that most of growers using this light are getting. Keep in mind these numbers were hit in homemade soil while using either straight water or ACT for 95% of the grow. I did use a little Cal Mag til I got my soil issue identified and fixed. Haven't used it since.

If I can get my rain water capture system set up and going, I think everything is going to improve. Bad water is my constraint at this point. That will be the next thing to be addressed. I ran a pH test on rain water and love what I am seeing......below 7.0 so I should literally not need anything from a bottle once I have it set up.

Thansk for all the super updates Van!
It’s a place of happiness to be sure, in spite of mold and terrible back pain. I feel ya on both counts. Sounds like you’re handling both pretty well - chronic pain is a daily burden that’s for sure. Thank heavens for pot, right!? :thumb:

definitely want to start rain water collection as my next project. If I do it right, i think I could collect enough water to use as my primary source for the girls.
You will Love that so much once you’ve done it. We’re only on rain water here and I love it. You’re right that your garden will take another leap forward with fresh rain water (always try to have some kind of first flush diversion setup if you can).

:Namaste:

Can you expand on the first flush diversion please. I have zero experience with this and wasn't going to research anything. I was just going to wing it and see what kind of crazy jarhead ingenuity I might come up with. But by all means if its a potential pitfall please share!

And just for clarification, I am not looking to do anything big or crazy....just hopefully something to snag 20-30 gallons of good water every time we get a decent rainfall and anything less than on bad days.

Just different ways of diverting some of the water away from catchment for a bit before collection starts. There are many ways to do it and numerous ‘devices’ that will do it. Or you can do it manually, but that’s not much fun!
The idea is that, especially after long dry periods, the first lot of water is going to be washing ‘crap’ off the collection surfaces (roof etc. ) so you don’t really want that ‘first flush’. I’ve also read about pollutants/ toxins in atmosphere that will clear in the beginning of a rainstorm, so it can be good to let it rain for a bit before collecting. I know less about that second thing tho.
If you research water harvest first flush diversion you’ll be right on the path. :thumb:

Makes sense....I was already brainstorming some sort of filtration for leaves/etc. Definitely gives me something to think about. Especially for when we find our forever place and do set up a big rainwater catching system for the outdoor garden. Thanks Amy! :thanks:

Here’s a diagram of a basic version that you can make easily . Could be used in a small collection scenario ...

Great updates Van! That NL is still pushing out the blonde while it ripens. Also, I used your pipe cleaner circles for the quadline training on my Haze Xtreme. Thanks for that great tip! Sorry, didn't have any pink or I would have stayed true to the original.

One request...when you or MsS make topical oil from the moldy Harley, can you post a review of it over in the Magnus8 topical thread? Sweet Sue was looking for the differing effect of a high CBD topical rather than a high THC one like we all make.

I sure can....though I also intend on getting the buds tested on the harlequin so I can confirm the ratio before I comment that something works excellent or badly. Might have the Jack tested too. That stuff is seriously potent. I smoked some yesterday and I was in my own little world for about an hour to an hour and half. Definitely the most potent stuff I have grown and possibly smoked.

And you know Shed, it kills me to say that about her. I hated that girl!!! She is delicious too! She and the Bubba Hash are the two best tasting strains I have ever smoked.

I just recently had some Jack Herer and had the same experience as Van with the smoke. I have a couple of those beans, but never was interested in growing it until now. There are too many strains I want to grow and others on this site have a seed addiction too.

OK...have to comment on the moldy bud talk from last page. Yes...all mold spores float to the top...just scoop it all off the top with whatever. trust me ..i have run lots of moldy bud thru my bags....Mold floats...so before you take out any bags...scoop the spores off the top...like clarifying butter...whats left is clean hash. I have researched this too and it is safe. Have to scoop it ALL off however. 100's of runs thru my hash bags over many , many yrs. and never once got sick from smoking BH made from moldy bud. There isn't too much else u can do with it and still preserve all the good gland heads without any fear of smoking mold. just my 2 gang! Cheers. BTW Van...sorry to hear about your mold issue a few days back...been very busy with life....bahhh!

Seriously. I have a pretty good tolerance now but after smoking that jack a handful of times now I have come to have a different level of respect for it! I have smoked some pretty good stuff but man.....that stuff just does me in. Its such a trip....I usually smoke and will sit out by the garden and relax and enjoy music and stay fully functional. When I smoked the Jack yesterday, I don't remember thinking about the garden or any of the animals around me, I was just stuck in my head and really don't remember much about what I was thinking as I was jamming to the Doors. Felt great but you might as well post an MIA sign over me after smoking that Jack cause my ass is missing in action for about a good hour plus!

And I can't say that about any other strain I have smoked (the only other strain that came close was some ATF after I smoked too much). Hell three medium sized hits off the bong gets me past where other strains get me after 6 or 8 hits. That shit ain't no joke! And so damn tasty!! It has me wanting to pop some other Jack Herer seeds I have and find out if this is common to the strain or if I just got lucky.

Thanks Duggs.

Not really set up to make any hash here so its all going to topicals anyways. Got it all decarbed yesterday along with all my trim. Sucks but I am over it......can't fix it. Just gotta make sure to stay on top of the little things.
