Hey well thank you very much OB.. it’s a little messier in person shhh don’t tell anyone haha. I think I finally have things going smooth for the first time in a while and it feels good.. I want to buy a fan speed controller for my exhaust to get it really dialed in. I’ll head over your way in a minute to gaze at the eye candy I’m sure you have in your garden. Thanks for takin the time to wander past my tent friend. Have a good one

When my tent started up today everything went except the light... I killed the power and restarted everything and the light came on. The color of the light seems different than usual, The bulb is a hortilux 600w hps bulb and haven’t ran a full grow with it yet.. however the ballast is used and was a gift from a friend years ago.
... I’m thinking I should buy a new ballast/bulb to be safe.. my good is fairly new i bought it when I bought the bulb. .... should I got the 1000w hps route? I don’t know anything about leds but I’ve seen all these cob grows and blurples or maybe that’s the same damn thing haha I don’t know. I definitely think I need a ballast and bulb sooner as a preventive measure rather than later as an oh shit we are in the dark moment lol.. now to try to make money out of air hehe

Both SOG (skunk OG) bagseed broke ground yesterday.. yay! Also, in the 5x5 all four girls seem to show the same problem, things seem to be going smooth but a couple of these rusted leaves keep popping up here and there... I suck at looking at the online leaf diagnostic pictures so I figured I'd ask you all.. thanks for all the help everyone. Have a good one.

Re: Promix problems - Noob needin' some help

So you know. Ideal soil PH is 6.7.

For soil (or soilless soil, lol) your PH of your water going in is supposed to match up with your runoff. I'd take water PHd to 6.7 and water your plant to 10% runoff. PH that runoff. If it's low, like 6.1, then you know your soil is at around the 6.4 mark.....due to averages. Screw around a bit with your water (ph down or lemon juice) going in until your runoff and your feed water have buffered themselves and brought your soil to around the 6.7 PH. That is the ideal # for all of your NPK as well as essential minerals like calcium and magnesium to be absorbed. You can mess around with PH all day long but your plants are telling you the problem. I just battled a PH problem myself and misdiagnosed it as a calcium deficiency. You also look to be underfeeding bloom nutrients as your leaves are pretty pale. I'd do a feed, feed, water schedule once you get things rolling again, but give the girls a bit more Nitrogen to get them some colour.

You can check out both of my previous grows if you'd like, they were both with Promix HP and standard nutrient dosings.

Not sure if I was stoned and over looked this or not but that's probably my whole issue... I'll give the 6.7 a shot

Well I reset my timer and when the lights come on we will begin our journey into flower. Very exciting for me

I’ve been doing it for several years and I still get a boner when flipping to flower...

Oooops! That was supposed to be my inside voice...I hate when it does that! :tokin:

If your diy inclined cobs or quantum/phantom boards are your best bang for the buck. As far as assembled LEDs I can't report my personal experience as they aren't a sponsor. There are many options available at that price point from many manufactures.

Hey GT and Turbo, thanks for the quick responses. I’ll look into both of those.. I picked up a side job tomorrow. Should fund my light solution. I’ll stop by my regular shop and talk to dude there and see if any deals are going on. Again thank you all.

I just watered the cheeses with reverse osmosis water at a ph of 7.0 with 5ml/gal of sturdy stalk (0-0-1) ppm: 140

My ¢2 your local shop is going to be over priced and will probably still refer you to the manufacturer for any warranty issues. It is still very possible that have an over stock of something and are letting them go at a good deal but for LEDs you'll probably find your best pricing from a manufacturer or direct reseller. @smoke Sara from Mars being a great example. Pennywise for instance, (Member Of The Year, runs Mars lights with great success.

I’m sure you’re right. I’m not certain what type of lighting I want to go with, I’ll still stop in and see how they’re doing and what they have. If I go led it’ll be from one of the sponsors you mentioned for sure.

Good info thanks!

I just got the green light from Teddy to talk about my Timber COBs. Timber is now a sponsor here again so I’m free to discuss. Like bignugz said, there are cheap LEDs out there. You gotta be careful. Before you purchase, gather as much information as you can on several different options and post here so everyone can give you advice before you choose.

I have no issues with mixing different lights for a better spectrum.
