Squattingbear's Promix Pineapple Cheese Tent

I just got the green light from Teddy to talk about my Timber COBs. Timber is now a sponsor here again so I’m free to discuss. Like bignugz said, there are cheap LEDs out there. You gotta be careful. Before you purchase, gather as much information as you can on several different options and post here so everyone can give you advice before you choose.

I have no issues with mixing different lights for a better spectrum.
hey as long as we keep teddy happy, we’re good! Thanks guys I’ll definitly keep you updated with what I’m thinking

All a personal preference anymore. LEDs have proven there worth to a lot of growers and the energy savings is hard to argue with. My thought would be keep what you have going for as little $ outlay as possible and research what's out there. The sky is the limit anymore. There's a solution for every budget and every skill level. White light definitely gets my vote though. I love the small plug n play cob unit I have more than my comparably priced blurples.

Very helpful response. Thanks man. If I get a new ballast I think I’ll get one that can go up to 1000w if I want to go back to 600 I will. I’m sure I’ll go led one day. I just learned how to give reps so I’ve been +reppin the hell out of you guys to make up for lost time haha

Update: had some roots showing on a couple of the PC clones woo hoo! I forgot to take a picture, I dropped two of them in their final bucket homes now just waiting to see roots hit the Rez!!!! I need to order some z7 from what I’ve read on here. The two skunk OG bagseed seedlings are stretchy. I plan on pushing them into flower quite early since they’re just a bonus side project haha hopefully atleast one of them is a girl! Flower tent is still on the first couple days of transition and everything seems to be doing well. No complaints here. Well I guess I’d like to get those rust spots cleared up on the big girls but I’m hoping switching the 6.7 ph will correct that over time. Fingers crossed. Have a good one folks.

Here’s a picture of my “water station”
Super easy to install yourself reverse osmosis water filter. No more bubbling water for days for this guy
My tap water sits at 180ppm (not bad) and comes out of the RO unit at 0ppm. Just feels could like a clean slate. Not necessary, but nice to have. Didn’t break the bank either. I think after I bought a 20$ lazy mans sharkbite fitting, in all I spent $140

The bubble buckets that the pineapple chunk clones are in, have a solution of:
R.O. Water at 0ppm 7.8ph
1ml/gal KLN rooting concentrate from dyna-gro
1ml/gal EH grow
1ml/gal EH micro
1ml/gal EH bloom
After mixing it came out to
Ph: 5.8
TDS: 140
Didn’t add any ph up or down.

Hopefully they will continue to root and find the Rez. Top feeding by hand until then

Sorry I'm late, TB answered very well. I started with hps and used it for almost two years. My last flower run was my first full run with only COBs. They work great, but there was a learning curve. It also changed my entire heat/humidity environment. Anyway, I say keep doing what you're doing.

I like your RO setup. I do something similar except my RO empties into a huge 50 gallon barrel, right next to my sink. It has a float valve and always stays full. Being in DWC, I need lots of water.

Yeah I’ll proba Stick with hps for now I don’t want to mess anything else up haha. I’ve thought about having it empty into a new trash can or something with the float valve you mentioned... it would save some hassle for sure. The Mrs. likes to drink the RO water so maybe I’ll put a tee in the line and have a continuous float valve barrel next to it and she can still use the faucet. Do you toss an air stone in there?

Yes, I keep an air stone in it and once in a while I’ll hit it with H2O2.

Thanks man! I appreciate that!

Your grandpa glue journal convinced me to go get the buckets and try the DWC with my clones, and now those dang raspberries look like perfect full bushes. You do very good work man, I like that blue lab guardian you have but I think I would only benefit from it if I built a RDWC setup with my buckets and had a Rez. Right? Now that I typed it... sounds like a fun project. It’s not completely out down the road. I love how you can walk in and see all your numbers and know exactly where things are. I forget which other journal I was reading but he was testing a ph controller it would add either ph up or down within 10 seconds of a ph swing and auto adjust your Rez for you.i thought that was crazy haha

I keep that little silver tie-wrap as a fail safe when I’m not filling the barrel. My next trick is to get hot water to my grow. The plants don’t need it, but I sure do.
the silver tie wrap that is holding the float? Or am I seeing it wrong? Hot water is very good to have haha toss it on the to do list
