Spimps NLxBB Auto Micro CFL's 2013

Good Weed and Grand Sativaday all! :ciao:

I transpanted the Veglings today and it was quite the fiasco! I let them get a little too dry so when I wnet to transplant it was very 'crumbly'. I think they will be ok, but it wasnt a super smooth repot. I am happy the medium is so 'airy', but it makes for tough transplants.

im a few pages behind so playing catchup,

with autos i dont do anything to them, i might do a small amount of lst but this is to only open the plant up so it lets light into all parts of the plant, how ever this time round im growing an auto northern lights in dwc and if i never defoliated the plant would of been less than half the size due to how big the top set of fan leaves where, i removed these 2 leaves and then the plant grew like crazy, so i would not do a heavy defol or anything else on an auto but removing 1 or 2 leaves to let light in really paid off with the auto im growing,

but Spimp knows that any sort of stress will stunt growth and this is not good with autos, so i would only defol towards the end of flower if i was going to do it at all, i dont think its worth doing during veg unless its just 1 or 2 leaves, i certainly wouldnt strip the big fan leaves off every branch, but i find lst works well as long as its only a very minor form such as pulling the side branches further outwards so the light is not being shaded on any of the nodes,

if the pots where not expensive and was easy to replace then you could double pot, some outdoor growers do this if their growing in pots as it allows the roots to get the extra depth and helps with more growth,

just carefully cut the bottom of the small pot off then gently push the pot into the top of the big pot your want the roots to grow down into, that way the roots from the smaller pot will then find their way down into the bigger pot and will work ok, ive done this a couple of times when i started plants in noodle tubs as i was only going to bin them once the plant was out the pot, so instead of transplanting i used a sharp craft knife and cut the bottom off and let it sit on top of the bigger pot, within days the pot was secure and the roots had grown down into the new pot, ive got one of my kc45 autos growing like this at the minute,

i didnt want any stress on the auto at transplant so when i thought it needed a bigger pot i just cut the bottom off and sat it on top of the new pot, it then carried on growing with no transplant shock or any other sort of slow down.

only worth doing if you dont mind throwing the old pot away, but i start my plants in pot noodle tubs or any other type of plastic tub so they only end up getting recycled or binned so i may as well use them to start plants in and if i do cut the bottom off then its not costing me anything.

Good Weed and Good Morning!

I just saw that incident in the NOTM contest. I am ashamed. Mostly because I actually thought the cheater was a good solid dude. ihave sub'd to his journals and actually helped talk him into entering his POTM because I thought its was very nice. Damn. Im beside myself over this.
Im gonna get some pics up in a few. Need to get some more coffee in me. :nomo:

oh no, those do look like developing pollen sacs, especially the last pic. Is that the only spot on the plant where you were able to find them or are there more? Can you just prune the sacs from the plant and hope for the best?

The whole plant only has the top where I took those, and than 2 shoots lower that seem to have the same smaller thing going on. Ill take a few more pics. It sucks cause they have the calyx hairs firing out from preflower area, but I noticed the odd growth a few days ago and actual suspected her to be a man-chick weeks ago. Its like she didnt want to put off branch sites and the preflower area concerned me. Ill go get some more pics real quick.

If I were in your shoes I would just prune them all from the plant, and keep a real close eye on her for the time being. There is another journal with the same thing, ColoradoHigh's thread, and he is pruning them also. If the plant starts putting out sacs in more spots than the 2 you mentioned you might wanna chop her so she doesn't pollinate the rest of your girls accidentally, or quarentine him/her, and let her go if you have the space, and you could get some seeds.

I don't see sacs guys. I see swolen calyx with hairs shooting out.
I'd just leave it be for a few days till it's noticeable clearly either way (sure that's what ud do)
It wouldn't drop pollen for a while anyway n if it gets sacs just finger pinch them.
Nice piks spimp :)
Dam I to was very disappointed in coke. I remember reading his first post in the help section n I helped as I could.
Was shocked to death to see cheating. Don p remembers of a similar cheat think he said they won before was found to be cheating

Ya, Im not gonna do anything rash Today. im gonna wait a few and see. I just told Mrs Spimp if I had only one or two, I would probably just let it go an see what happens. But with 6 other ladies in the tent, im gonna hafta be diligent and check her daily.

Ya, Alex, it sucks big time. Im still trying to wrap my head around it. I guess it kinda goes back to the theory Imaginary people may just be bad dudes in good wrapping. Damn.

Now heres the bad news guys. Rico, you may want to inspect this for me. Im pretty Sure Gitmo is a She/He.

I don't see any "developing pollen sacs"

I see explosive flowering growth, but nothing hermi :)

Hermis show male pre-flower growth from the v below the flowering tops

Here's a bad MS art example of what I mean.

Forked tongue means female :)

But keep looking, I may be wrong ;)

(I wouldn't want to unnessecarily reassure you)

Bad MS paint pic FTW!! :slide:

I think and hope you are correct sir. I havnt seen any actual 'balls' yet, but the growth looks a little wierd to me. It could be because im spoiled by the Fem autos ive been growing and they show so positivly that my view could be skewed. She will live for at least a week or so while I continue to check her. As big as she is, I really hope shes a female and I get a nice big cola outta her. :):)

BONUS AUTO aka TOTURED SOULS update---
I think I may have accidently uncovered something regarding autos. Let me show you two pics of the SAME STRAIN BOTH at 60 days old----

IMAG027420.jpg

IMAG053210.jpg

Both Blue mammoth. Both 60 days old in the pick. The first one grew under a much less stressed environment and had no 'shock' other than a poorly assembled SCRoG attempt that only lasted 10 days.
The second had major Stress. Major Stunting. All during the 'veg' time of the plant.

Heres what I think. The harvest weight may be affected some, time will tell. But the "flowering" hasnt been rushed and over as I anticipated. As you can clearly see, the second pic shows weeks left on that girl. So the addage of stunted autos I think is no accurate.

Of Course, every plant grows better without additinal stressing. But this Auto seems to have rebounded and will make some nice bud IMO. WHY??
Because the stress happened during veg, so I believe the Flowering part of the growth has been unaffected. I got 15gish from the first girl. In a few weeks Ill know the weight of the second but I dont see it being less than 7-10 range. What I have seen and shown you here is that they are NOT on a finite date range. A 60 day auto is not gonna die on dy 61. Id bet the second pic goes to 80 days or more. It has to do with the flower timing and when stressed occured IMO.
Anyway, thats was just an interesting thought I had looking through my dates and pics.
