Sphnx's Norcal Outdoor Season

No worries man, welcome to 420! Those ladies are looking great, super healthy. I'll get around to checking out your log when I have a few minutes to sit down and actually read something :)

Hair and predator piss. I think I can get a hold of all of that. Thanks brotha, greatly appreciated :)

Maaan, it really is hard work, this heat is no joke. But thank you!

Indeed it is hard work. Those who think they are going to put a few plants in the ground and get a harvest are crazy. I put out 150 this year and I for fear of thieves my stuff goes thousands of acres in the woods. I had to carry 10 bales of promix 400 yards up a mountain this spring. Lol that shit sucks. But yet someone has no problem going and stealing the things with no thought of how hard it is to actually grow good quality cannabis.

Yeah man, I worry about theives too, but luckily we're at the end of a private road at the top of the mountain. Everyone grows on this road, so the chances of us getting ripped off, versus the bottom of the road, are pretty slim. We have motion sensors hooked up to little lights in the house to let us know if anything is out at the other grow areas, and I'm thinking about hooking up a recording of me yelling out there just so we can hear it too. It's the little things that make a huge difference. But in all reality, I'm probably just paranoid. I know for a fact that everyone around here doesn't want to risk getting shot for trespassing on private property, I know I don't.. everyone is armed to the teeth around here. Corrupt cops, theives, people keep to themselves and are skeptical of outsiders. So people mind their business, and lay low. No need to create waves by stealing crops.

Yeah I live in an illegal state and kids will walk for days looking for your crops. Everyone around here grows as well. But that means nothing. People will still steal the crop. That's why I have some babies close to home and my main crops are so far in the woods they better bring a tent if they wanna go looking for those ones lol.

I have a product called deer guard. It's a motion sensor that emits a really high frequency. It sounds like your ears are ringing but it reallllllly makes them ring.
Sometimes it's just the subtle "gotchya" that keeps the thieves away. Amazing what a little motion sensor can do without anything else.

Some shots from today.

Wow man. That looks great !!! Im subed in on this one for sure!!!!

I plan to do my first "proper " outdoor grow this spring. Been growing indoors a while and a few outdoor plants that happened to come up in my garden unintentionally. I have clay pot about 50l and have filled it with cow manure. Veg scraps egg shells egg boxes and red wrigglers. Composting worms. I am letting them do there thing and then going to plant a durban poison straight in their once worms have done their job !!! I will do a grow journal with that one.
Your grow looks impressive my man !!!

I can't wait... lol its been a dream of mine for over a decade to get up here and grow my monsters. I promised myself that I would be harvesting with a chainsaw this year. And damnit, I'm keeping that promise. It's been a couple years since I've been able to grow, so I'm basically making up for lost time ;)
I know the feeling. When the bug bites you just wana GROW BRO !!!
U GOTA LOVE IT !!!

Have you checked out my past indoor journals? Tons of pictures in there :) definitely do a journal on your outdoor grow! That soil will be a good start. Cow manure is high in nitrogen but low in potassium and phosphorus, look into chicken poop. High in everything!

Update!

The plants seem to be fully established and really starting to take off. They're all getting a heavy watering in the morning with 3000ml of age old grow and 1500ml of liquid karma.. then they get watered again late afternoon with plain pH balanced water to cool the roots down. I wish I could afford to feed them like I want, but next year we'll be more prepared financially.

Here are the ladies ;)

Rock beds and trail- the deer decided to start eating the lowers nightly, so cages it is! Good luck fuckers. I picked up another roll of wire to make some more... no more eaten plants!

Area 3 the crystal trail- I didn't have my phone on me while I was down there today. Im planning on doing a small update tomorrow on those.

Hi, neighbor! Get a deer tag and a bow, venison from the Cali foothills is some of the best I've ever had. :D

Working on getting a compound bow, but until I can afford anything besides nutrients, it's up to the cages to keep them away. But I agree, California venison is damn good. I've been eating it my whole life :)

You guys hunt?

I was a hunter when I was younger. Id go with my grandfather. But since he died a while back, I havent gone. I'd like to get back into it. We have wild turkeys and quite a few bucks around, so it would be very easy to hunt from the yard. Too be completely honest, I'm not a fan of hunting with a firearm. I'd rather use a bow or spear, ultimately just a big hunting knife. Make it more of an even playing field, you know? I don't carry a firearm walking around the property, just a 5in blade and 4in blade in my pockets.. one day I will knife fight a mountain lion and bear. It's on my bucketlist. Not planning on going out and searching for those battles, but I know one day it will happen up here. Had to scare off a bobcat trying to eat one of the plants today lol

Yea I hunt with a bow, but I mostly fish. I had to run a bear off a couple weeks ago trying to get to my chickens. He was huge.

I wish I had the time to go fishing. It's quite the hike to the lake and back. We're trying to figure out a couple ponds to farm salmon and trout, either in ground or above ground, it's going to happen soon. Was it a black bear??

In the worm mix their are tons of banana peels and egg shells. Chicken poop i have got but added it into compost pile for spring. Will check out the journals bro!! Shot alot.

Niiiice! I have a compost of fruit rinds and egg shells. Like 600 or so egg shells and 33 fruit trees worth of rinds and scraps. Got some watermelon growing out at the moment.. lol I eat 6-10 eggs a day and I'm planning on getting a couple thousand in there before I use it for cannabis. I'm thinking I'm going to mix in 50% chicken poop, theb mix it 50/50 with coco and perlite and do 2 plants semi hydro. Really curious as to how big and frosty those buds will get.

The sun is just a more powerful light.. hydro would do amazing outdoors. It would just take a ton of money for all of the nutrients. So much water needed, so many feedings.. it would be very costly. But overall, if done properly, it would come out better than organic.
