Right on Buck, thanks for the info Im not sure what im going to try yet, I know that systems like mine that run continuously dont need as long of a flush because the water never stops so alot less salt build up if any because it doesnt dry out. Im thinking 4-5 days.I think im going to follow your lead with the cal/mag, Corey mentioned it will really change the taste and make it really harsh on the exhale.

You will notice a whole new flavor in all your strains when you stop the cal/mag... for the better

You will notice a whole new flavor in all your strains when you stop the cal/mag... for the better

Thanks bro, my pk was harsh on the exhale lasr round I bet its going to be alot smoother this round.Did you notice a deficiency for the last few weeks?

I think you're right Jon. IMHO the cure is more important than a flush.

The more I think about it the more it doesnt make sense to starve the plant during the final weeks when they are fattening up. I ll take Bucks advice and stop the cal/mag for the last 2 weeks and slowly dial the nutes down bit by bit with maybe a3-4 day strait water flush at the end

you have seen my girls ... no I don't have any problems. At that point I am still using a very light ... light, dose of foliage pro and whatever bloom agent and I may or may not be adding bat shit

yeah as ive been brought up thinking that the yellowing of the leaves was simply the plant taking up the last of the N reserves and probably other nutrients... and as you alluded to, the presence of trichomes on the leaves being also part of a plants defensive mechanism- will want these leaves to continue in good shape for as long as is possible.. right up to the end of the plants life-cycle.
ive noticed with alot of finishers- they contain ALOT of P and K, definitely seems a time to boost the phosphates as a means to trigger a late stage of flowering to gain size and weight.. so with this in mind flushing the last 2 weeks certainly seems excessive.. you could probably flush, as you mentioned, certain elements like cal/mag etc.. N if indeed N is still a part of the feeding schedule... but with the knowledge that 'bud finishers' still utilize heavy use of phosphates at such a late stage, makes sense to feed for longer and possibly flush for shorter periods...
its an interesting point though, and is a problem with the restrictions on cannabis research, THERE ISNT ENOUGH OF IT ;] the logistics of setting up an experiment is easy enough.. but getting it lab tested to prove yay or nay is another thing entirely. it would really only take one grow to experiment with the same strain of a consistently stable phenotype to test plants at each day of flushing from 14days down to harvest.. 14 plants(or possibly 28) that are individually started on a flush cycle each consecutive day with the last plant(s) not being flushed at all.. compare the structural differences, presence of brix(sugars), mineral content, water content, THC levels etc and then compare the differences when dried.. then cured(including different times of cures e.g. 1mnth/2mnth etc).. i for one would be fascinated to see something like this being done and i believe something like this would put to bed the debate of flushing once and for all... to a degree that is all plants are different and some seem to like different feeding schedules from others.. so it may not be so cut n dry as that loL [:

Things are looking pretty good, all the nugs are starting to shoot out new clumps of white hairs and are fattening up nicely. Im still having some trouble with a calcium defficiency but for the most part its mild, hopefully the ro system will straiten that out next round.

That's the truth jon, I'm payin for that mistake now, never had a problem and tried cutting the n back and it really hurt the yield.......close to half less!

Hey Shotta yep it smells awesome in there bro, mostly pk though and the cheese auto wreaks too! yep I figured it out, im going with a dual zone mini split, 18000 btu in the flower room and 12000btu in the veg room. since im building the new space I plan on taking a 5 x 10 room off of the veg room for the condenser with a removable panel right behind it for the summertime and a large attic fan hooked up to a thermostat for the winter, I think it will work great.Thanks for the kind words and the reps bro
