Re: Blue Planet Nutrients-Soil-Hydro-2400w Led-2000w Hps-8 Strains-1 GPW+

bro if its still venting air from your room into the basement after you taped up the intake and exaust then maybe its not the right kind of a/c. I was under the impression that all dual hose a/c were designed not to create negative pressure, what would be the point of dual hose otherwise. I would call whynter and find out for sure bro and return it or switch it out for another model.

Love ideal air. Their mini splits and thermostats are grade A double D titties

Re: Blue Planet Nutrients-Soil-Hydro-2400w Led-2000w Hps-8 Strains-1 GPW+

It is, this style of a/c draws air from outside the room from one of the hoses,it cools the unit and blows it back out of the room through the other hose.It has 2 vents that draw air from the room cools it and blows it back into the room, there is no negative pressure at least theres not suposed to be.So the room is sealed, no air comes in or leaves the room.

all dual hose a/c's shouldn't create negative pressure, two hoses means two air circuits, one for condenser air , and one for evaporator air, if condenser ducting and connections are sealed there should be no negative pressure.

hiker remember dont go overboard on the intake fan cfm, this is just a helper to your a/c's condenser fan motor too much air through the condenser is not a good thing, it will drop head pressure , which will drop suction pressure which will freeze up your evaporator coil which equals no cooling.

I see, the vents are to cool the unit,,,gotcha. I really like the sealed idea....it makes sense. Interesting fact; green plants provide only 3% of the oxygen present in the atmosphere, if the earth was devoid of plant life, we'd never be able to tell, in regards to breathing. 97% is provided by photoplankton....we have to care for the water on this planet...or we will die!

Well, that's what happens when you are high and updating. I started when you were triple 6 but took so long mcloadie took care of it ;-)

I will knock the crap outa the triple six....do it all the time, cuz greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world!

Re: Blue Planet Nutrients-Soil-Hydro-2400w Led-2000w Hps-8 Strains-1 GPW+

I'm mostly convinced my problem is the negative pressure in the basement proper. Since there is no negative pressure in the flowering room, it pulls from there. It's also wasting my CO2. Jon, didn't you say you talked to Whynter and they are claiming this unit shouldn't be exchanging any air with the cooled space? Maybe it's something else. I haven't opened up the AC yet to see if I can make any modifications. I do think this is the right kind of AC, it's just not operating as intended. I'm not sure if I can even return it, but I did save all the packaging. I wonder if I could have got a mini split and just put the compressor in my basement instead of outside? I'm already venting the basement, but I'm not sure if that would work. Based on a rudimentary understanding of thermodynamics, If I can vent the AC heat off well enough, why couldn't I vent the room itself well enough? I considered exhausting the AC into my crawl space, but then it causes an odor issue if it leaks.

I really don't want to buy anything else for this room until after the harvest. I'll probably let it go for another couple of weeks as is. Once some $$ comes in (maybe sooner if we have enough in the budget), I'll boost the AC's intake with a fan. If that doesn't solve the problem, I'll keep trying.

Thanks for all the help getting the room sealed up. I'm a little discouraged, but I know I'll be happy once it's all dialed in.

if intake is connected to your scrubber room you can go as high as a 230cfm 6 inch fan. i dont know what cfm your scrubber is but you what more than half the cfms of the scrubber to compete for the air.

Re: Blue Planet Nutrients-Soil-Hydro-2400w Led-2000w Hps-8 Strains-1 GPW+

Scrubber room is basically the rest of the basement. I ran a little test earlier. I turned off the AC. The negative pressure inside the room was definitely gone. I turned off my exhaust fan that's outside the room, and the AC was still creating a negative pressure in the flowering room. So the AC's intake leak is probably being exacerbated by the scrubber, it's not the cause.

I'm going to go take pictures right now and post them in my journal. Thanks for trying to help figure this out guys. I guess I could call Whynter, but I'm just used to not having any vendor support available given what I'm using it for.

anybody ever use this stuff?
Dagda - The Lord of the Field
My growshop carries it and they say the same growers come back every year for more. $100 for a 40 pound bag of grow and the same for bloom.30 mil per plant every 4-5 weeks is like a shot glass full.the price is right that s for sure:)

Re: Blue Planet Nutrients-Soil-Hydro-2400w Led-2000w Hps-8 Strains-1 GPW+

"If it ain't broke don't fix it" These guys could have had an excellent 1st grow, way back...
When you get one crop a year, why go with what you don't know?
IMO, price of fertilizer X2 is cheap compared to harvest value. It's all about set-up cost out-of-pocket.

Re: Blue Planet Nutrients-Soil-Hydro-2400w Led-2000w Hps-8 Strains-1 GPW+

Hi Propa, im putting 100 autos outdoors this year it would be for them. I used liquid nutes in the past but not with 100 plants so Im trying to find something that isnt goin to bankrupt me.Other than topdressing them once a month this stuff or something like it would make my life alot easier:)

Re: Blue Planet Nutrients-Soil-Hydro-2400w Led-2000w Hps-8 Strains-1 GPW+

Hi Jon
What brand is your 10k portable?

This Whynter ARC-14S seems to struggle to cool my room with just 2250 watts. I made some improvements to it's ventilation last night that seem to have helped a little, but I'm worried what will happen when it gets 20+ degrees hotter outside.

It seems like it exhausts much more air than it intakes. It's creating a negative pressure in the room. My room is much harder to open when it's running because of the suction. I looked at it a little last night from the perspective of how to open it up. Maybe I can isolate the 2 sides better with some silicon? I wonder if assisting the intake would help. I did separate them by about 6 feet (mostly vertical), and have directed the hot exhaust away from the area. I have my charcoal filter intake in that area as well to vent out the warm air from the AC.

Thanks again for all your help. You're obviously a very busy man! :Namaste:

Hey Hiker have you tried running it with just one hose to only exhaust the hot air? My soleus air 14,000 BTU has an option where I can isolate one hose and add an intake filter. There tech's recommended to me to do that if what I am wanting to do is cool in a sealed enviroment type situation. Not sure if its even relevant but wanted to share.
Sorry Jon

Re: Blue Planet Nutrients-Soil-Hydro-2400w Led-2000w Hps-8 Strains-1 GPW+

yep thats what they told me bro.I really think that 4 inch booster fan would solve your problems, its 80 cfm, you still might have to dial it down.Like Ronnie said to much will fry your unit, your just making up for the negative pressure in the room not adding a turbo:tokin:

Im kinda catching up by going page by page backwards lol.
hey Jon my dual hose portable (Soelius Air 14K All season) what do you think about adding its 5" exhaust into my 8" exhaust ducting my Hoods? I waill be running my exhaust straight into the attic which has its own exhaust fan setup to dump the attic when I want it to. Right now I have it set for 75F but want to upgrade it to work on RH also. Just wondering instead of venting it out of a window which creates security issues and gives the fliers a place to come in at night what do you think of the 8" Vortec's flow boosting up the ports flow wjile its vented up into the attic?
Thanks
