SOGgy Daze Ahead For Mr. Krip!

Hi Mr.K,

"grow creep" love the term, and man I know what you're talking about...when I started I was just gonna grow a couple at a time, a couple times a year...it only took 2 grows and all that had changed...now I have/do a little bit of everything from seeds to clones, to moms and those in flower...I love growing, and all that creeps along with it.

I was thinking when looking at the latest PS harvest...if she didn't have any little bud stems to give it away...you couldn't tell which end was which, I'm glad you decided to keep her around...like OG said quality over quantity everytime.

Great Job - love the journal

Power Skunk sounds really good! I love Lucy, so I can only imagine... If it's as good as it looks, you're wise to keep it. I'm always trying for quality over quantity, too, but those big yielders sure are fun as well!!

For me lately, I enjoy variety as much as anything. I'm blessed with a nice variety at the moment. I had a nice sized harvest with my Lavender 2 grows ago, and as good as it was, it gets old after a while, too, when it was all I had for a couple of months.

Grow creeeeeep...

Hope you are doing well my friend! :high-five:

Hmmm...lots of foreclosures on the market. You'd just have to find a fixer upper with a good electrical service/main panel and decent plumbing! :)

Congrats on your bottomless cup of buds, and their excellence.
Expanding into a purpose-rebuilt property however, is something else.
Forming a partnership with someone who has usable space available is another possibility.
Look closely at your friends & family.

Don't ignore old aunt Edna, just because she was brainwashed by Reefer Madness.
Times change and being old just means that you're not dead yet.
Slowly and reluctantly, even old people can learn new stuff. Kinda

Mr. Krip, where you are at, I would think there would be glut of houses for sale cheap. We old folks are dropping like flies down there! :grinjoint:

Thanks guys! I really was just joking about another house!

Maybe if I was growing commercially, but as long as I'm not going to someone else for my meds, I'm a happy guy.

It's really more "strain creep" than "grow creep" cuz' there's so many more strains I want to try, but really like these, too! If I had my way, I'd have a whole strain collection with 20-30 mothers. It's nice to dream! :)

Thanks, Sqwheels! :thanks:

Once again, I agree 420%! I love the variety, too (see my above dream!) and I'm having a tough time getting rid of ANYTHING! :)

As much as I have a tough time saying it, I think the Lucy MAY be the "weakest" strain of the three (I haven't tested the Big Band, yet, but just took her first clone when she got her first topping).

The Lucy quality is probably as good as the PE and PS, and her colas are huge, so she does produce well (good pics coming up!), but her buds are also pretty "loose" compared to the nice dense nugs I've been getting on the other two strains. I do believe it's the pheno and since it's the only Lucy mom, she may be the first one to get replaced to make room for a better strain.

Right now, I'm experimenting to see if I can get the quality on the Lucy HIGHER by giving her some extra time in flower.

I'm doing great Bro, and hope you are, too. But, did you just call me a "Grow Creep"?

QUICK UPDATE - LUCY HARVESTED AFTER 78 DAYS

I decided to harvest that Lucy plant (along with another Power Skunk) after giving her an extra 8 days of 12/12. The extra time definately was enough to get a good amount of amber, so, I'm hoping to see a nice boost in quality.

I didn't take any shots of the Power Skunk harvested, since you've all seen a bunch of those lately. And, there's a nice run of Lucy coming up as seven of the next eight plants to be harvested are Lucy, which is why I wanted to make sure I really have flower times dialed in.

Here she is "pre-trim":

Hi Mr. Krip :high-five:

Nice Lucy Harvest. I'm starting to think that there might be a couple of phenotypes of Lucy. When I grow her, her buds look like golf balls. Of course that may be because mine stretched like crazy. :thedoubletake:

All I can say is................beautiful, just beautiful

Tis a 'Nice Cola'. Been awhile since I did a drive bye, and looks like I picked the right time. Sorry to hear Skunk had the lite yield. Skunks always been a favorite of mine. Reminds me of the 'GOOD STUFF' back in the day all the was was mostly Mexican Dirt Brick Weed. Least it was only 10 bucks a lid tho. But true smelling skunk, love it. I did find a good strain that has that smell. Oh that smell'''''' I got my stock from Sensie Seeds. Good plant. During flower at times I'd go play in the flower room and then go lay back and watch a show. Soon I'd sniff my fingers and swear it's straight roadkill. And it finishes fast like 50 days max. I've heard alot about Lucy. But nothing first hand, but I do see a hefty ass cola you produced. I hope she smokes great for ya. GL Keepem Green

Looking Awesome as always. Hope that extra 8 days does what you needed it to. I would love to try a lucy at some point... Just keep hearing more and more good about it.

Okay, I was a fan of the show, but damn... I Love Lucy even more!

That Lucy bud looks phenomenal there Mr. K. Enjoy!

Thanks, Bro's! :thankyou:

I just jarred her this evening, so I'll let you all know if there was any improvment in quality! I'm not sure there's anything I can do about the loose buds. She was 14" tall and yielded only 10.2 g dried, although, it looks like a lot more.

Just as a quick update, I've harvested 16 plants in the last 60 days (since March 30th) for a total of 169.7 g or 5.99 oz. which is an average of 10.6 g or 0.37 oz per plant. The average height on these plants was only about 14.5".

I've been working on getting the height up, but so far, it looks like even the plants I'm vegging to 12" tall before putting into 12/12 will finish at something like 18". However, that should get me much closer to the 1/2 oz. per plant goal since the one Power Skunk that I've harvested at 18" weighed in at 13.2 g.

Even with the lower-than-planned yields so far, and the process going a little slower than planned, six ounces in 60 days is way more than enough to satisfy my needs. So, the larger goal I had when I started growing of both saving money and not being dependent on outside "non-reliable" sources to acquire my meds, has been achieved! :yahoo:

Happy Harvests!
