SOGgy Daze Ahead For Mr. Krip!

MEET BABY BERTHA!!!

Well, in the past it's been bad luck for me to name my plants before they're fully rooted, but I'm making an exception for Bertha! The Big Band seed I was having doubts about germinating is just in the process of pushing her way into the world :yahoo::

If you look close from this angle, you can see she's shedding her husk on the way out:

Here's a quick shot of the veg cab right now:

And, here's the batch of clones I took six days ago. I still have them under the humidity dome, although, vents are now cracked, and they're all looking great:

From this angle, you can see how much taller this batch of clones is than ANY of my previous batches. Well, except for the one in front-left, but she's really a back-up to a back-up! :)

Hi Mr.K,

Really great pics...the garden is looking wonderful!!!:bravo:

I tried to +rep you but...have to spread the love...yadayada, I'll try again another day :Namaste:

I love to hear you talk about PE...I'm so excited, mine is about a week from cut and I'm drippin with anticipation every time I look at her.

What do your trics look like? Mine has them in many variations such as,,, big fat mushrooms that are totally cloudy
skinny clear stems with molasses colored tops
some are still completely clear...tho not very many
most are either cloudy or amber now...lots of amber for only 50 days

:peace:

Thank you, Sqwheels! :thanks:

My trichs are mostly cloudy/clear right now. I find, with the pheno I have, she really needs the 70 days of 12/12 before she's where I consider "optimum", and at that time, she'll have about 25%-30% amber.

But, I know Propa has been growing PE for a while and he swears the pheno he has stops improving after something like 42 days (Propa, please correct me if I'm wrong!).

So, it's possible that your PE will finish much quicker than mine and I would definately start sampling if you're seeing a good amount of amber.

QUICK UPDATE - RAPID ROOTERS ARE REALLY RAPID!

Quick update on how the Rapid Rooters are performing and I have to say, I'm definately liking them! :thumb:

The last batch of clones taken last Monday was the first time I tried the Rapid Rooters and they do seem to be getting roots a couple of days earlier than the rockwool.

Here's roots on one of the clones after only seven days:

DSCN2051.JPG

And, two days ago, I put the Big Band seed into a Rapid Rooter with an EXTREMELY small taproot (maybe 2-3 mm's), since she went right from soaking in the shotglass for about 24 hours straight to the plug; and not onto wet paper towels, or anything else, to let the taproot grow out first.

Well, here she is today after I helped her shed some of the yolk sac that was still attached:

And, here's the taproot after only two days in the Rapid Rooter:

So, early impressions are that the Rapid Rooters definately work, and they do seem to work quicker than rockwool.

Happy Harvests!

Mr. Krip, its been a while... I must say that you have some of the healthiest looking vegging plants I have seen. I've admired your grows and am glad to be back on the site to see more. PE is a favorite of mine too, all around good....

Hey, 4Twenty! It's great to see you, too, Brother! :high-five:

It seems a lot of 420 Bro's who haven't been on in a while are coming back lately. Must be the season! :)

Do you have a new grow journal going yet?

Great going with the new strain, I hear your doing some more PE...I need to get my hands on some.

Good everything going on in here. Congrats on the real nice looking harvest too!

Thanks much, Bro! Or, should I say, "Schwiiiiiiiing!" :)

Hey Mr. Krip -

Glad to see you are liking the Rapid Rooters. They are the greatest thing since sliced bread in my opinion. Your plugs look a little wet to me, but maybe you just moistened them... Just be careful not to oversaturate them, and they'll work at their optimum. Clone after clone just roots beautifully for me in them (I've been testing/practicing my cloning skills like mad lately) - near 100% for me in them.

Everything looks great - bye bye Powerskunk!!

Nice to see you too. As a matter of fact I do. I just updated my signature with it, thanks! I forgot to do that. I think we all have been sick ;-)

Thanks, Brother! :thanks:

Yeah, they are working VERY well. In fact, I believe some of the latest clones taken in the Rapid Rooters will end up in the flower tent BEFORE some of the clones that were taken two weeks earlier! :thumb:

I'm usually taking pics when I'm feeding or in the cab for some other reason, so, I did just water before those pics were taken and I learned my lesson back in my first journal about keeping the medium too wet! :)

Thanks for looking out for me! :high-five:

QUICK PIC UPDATE

I've got another Power Skunk due for harvest on 4/18, and two more on 4/21, but with 6 days left, it was time to give the oldest one a Clearex flush today. I couldn't resist taking some pics while she was out of the cab.

I have to say, I'm really gonna miss growing the Power Skunk buds - I only wish she produced more of them and was a better yielder!

But, as you may get a sense of from the pics, there's no problem with the quality! :grinjoint:

The Power Skunk definitely looks dank...I hear you on the yield though. Indoor grow space is too valuable. You'll find a replacement strain...maybe even one you end up liking more!

:thumb:

Hi Mr.K,

Very nice pics of PS...sorry to see her go, but I'm sure you'll find something you like just a well. I've just popped two new strains, I completely agree about the cubes...I use root riot, they look a lot like the rapid rooters in your pics, they work great.

Love the journal...:welldone: on the Power Skunk.

I chopped PE today...I tested a couple of her lower buds this week, I think she'll be good...about 25% amber, today was day 56 of flower. I count from the day I first see flowers, usually 5-7 days after the flip to 12/12. She smells sweet and had a good high, the taste however was a little harsh, hopefully a good cure will change that, if I can wait that long :)

Thanks for sharing all your knowledge :Namaste:

Beautiful pictures and tribute to the Power Skunk. She sure is pretty and frosty! :goodjob:

Thank you, Brother! :thankyou:
Yeah, her buds frost up real nice, plus, you can see there's hardly any leaf in the buds, so she trims up real easily, too. But, there's so many strains and so little time & space to grow. So, I'm looking forward to trying both the Big Band, and in a couple of months, we'll try out those Mango seeds, too. Although, if either of those two Mango seeds germinate, I'm pretty sure I'll be keeping that strain in the rotation based on past experience! :yummy:
