SOGgy Daze Ahead For Mr. Krip!

The Power Skunk definitely looks dank...I hear you on the yield though. Indoor grow space is too valuable. You'll find a replacement strain...maybe even one you end up liking more!

:thumb:

Thanks, Vape! I agree 420%! Indoor grow space IS too valuable! As mentioned above, I've got a couple more strains in the works, and Baby Bertha (the Big Band seedling) seems to be doing well, so far! :thumb:

ive gone thru about 42 pages of this and I would like to know how much the final yield of this grow was. i would like to do something similar due to space restraints

Very nice plant there Mr K! Entering her in POTM?

Thanks, Bro!

She is a beauty and I wouldn't mind making posters out of those last couple of bud shots, but she's not going in POTM this month. I won POTM back in February with the Lucy SOG plant, so will be a few months before I can re-enter that contest. But, I may enter some of her buds in NOTM next month!

Hi Mr.K,

Very nice pics of PS...sorry to see her go, but I'm sure you'll find something you like just a well. I've just popped two new strains, I completely agree about the cubes...I use root riot, they look a lot like the rapid rooters in your pics, they work great.

Love the journal...:welldone: on the Power Skunk.

I chopped PE today...I tested a couple of her lower buds this week, I think she'll be good...about 25% amber, today was day 56 of flower. I count from the day I first see flowers, usually 5-7 days after the flip to 12/12. She smells sweet and had a good high, the taste however was a little harsh, hopefully a good cure will change that, if I can wait that long :)

Thanks for sharing all your knowledge :Namaste:

Thank you, Sqwheels! :thanks:
For what it's worth, I've only grown about 6 strains, so far, but I have noticed the PE changes and benefits the most during the cure. With my pheno, it starts out with a real heavy pineapple/diesel smell. But, after a few weeks, the diesel smell/taste really mellows and the pineapple smell/taste really sweetens, so you end up with very smoothe, sweet, and fruity smelling meds. Wait if you can! :)

:welcome:, Captain!

Right now, I'm averaging just under 1/2 oz. dry per SOG plant with all plants besides the Power Skunk, which is being replaced because it's a low producer. I've also been growing the plants slightly shorter than they should be.

Once dialed in, I should be able to get just over 1/2 oz. per plant.

If you're interested in this method of growing, I HIGHLY recommend also reading 420fied's two SOG journals:

* Come SOG with Me - 112 Plant - 2 Liter - Hempy SOG

* 2 Liter Hempy SOG

He's the one primarily responsible for starting the hempy SOG craze here on :420:

so that is around 4.5 lbs a year doing your setup correct me if im wrong?

also what kind of lights are you using for your veg room & flowering room

Yeah...somewhere between 4 - 4.5. It's actually a little over 12 oz. every 70 days on the schedule I'm on.

I'm using a T-5 for vegging and a total of 680w of LED's in the flower tent, including one 500w and one 180w. The 180w probably isn't needed, but I had it as an extra and gives a littlle more coverage, so I use it.

Ok and for the LEDs do they put off a lot of heat. I live in an apartment and can't drill holes to vent out the attic and what not how are you going about cooling. The more I read the more I feel this grow is for me

I really want to try a 2l SOG but I think I'm going to make sure I have a regular grow under my belt first. Beautiful plants, Check out my journal in my signature if you get some time ^_^

Thanks, Anony...I'll check it out!

The LED's put off VERY little heat compared to virtually ANY other type of light. You can literally touch the light with no discomfort. But, the unit does generate some heat and the tent will need to be vented.

In my case, the room the tent is in is air conditioned and I just pull cool air in from the room using passive intakes, and vent the fan out of the tent back into the same room using a 6" fan/carbon filter setup.

The room gets a couple of degrees warmer than the rest of the house during lights-on, but it doesn't get too bad.

If you have to vent to the outside, you can do it through a window. Simply cut a piece of wood the same width as your window (slightly smaller) and a couple of feet tall. Install a vent in the piece of wood and close the piece in your window with the vent facing outside and flange facing inside.

You can put some weather stripping around the window to help seal it (the weather stripping won't adhere to the wood, so stick it around the window!).

Then, connect your exhaust from the tent to the flange on the inside of the window.

Depending on where your apartment is, what floor it's on, and what's facing the window you'll be using, this may not be feasible, but it is a good way to vent to the outside without having to modify your home!

thank you.. being that i have the air conditioning on most of the time except at night due to cold temperatures i believe i will be just fine without having to vent outside. can you recommend me an LED that would be good for a 2x3 space. thank you very much for the help. how many plants can i fit in a 2x3 as well?

Actually, you can easily get 24 plants in a 2'x3' space if you have the whole floorspace to work with, and even more if you want to pack them in tightly.

In my 2'x4', I have the filter and a fan on the floor, which is why I indicated earlier I could fit more than 24 in that space.

The 2L's are about 4.5", so four rows of six plants would take up 18" x 27". You could probably get five rows of seven (35 plants) in the 2'x3', if you were trying to max the space, which would be 22.5" x 31.5". That would yield approximately 17.5 Oz. every couple of months.

BTW...I sent you a PM on LED's with a link to Stevehman's LED Buyer's Guide

Ur buds look phenomenal !!!!!

doing greatttt bud!!! keep it up!!

And u make me wanna pull out my rapid rooters for cloning!!
my aeroponic cloner just showed me roots after 6 days!

maybe the rapid rooters work faster

shit all my seeds cracked and popped out in the first 30 hours! when i planted them in the rooters!

ima have to test ittttt :)

great jorb!

Okay with the light and the T5's you are using how much does your whole setup run you in electricity costs?

I really appreciate the help and i am basically going to copy your setup :D

Thanks, Bro! If you're getting roots in 6 days with the aero cloner, I'd stick with it. You're not gonna beat that by much with anything. I have a TurboKlone and the only reason I'm not using it is because of some relatively high temps that created problems, but if I was getting healthy plants that quick, that's what I'd be using! :)

My entire setup only adds about $15-$20 per month in electric. You should note that I run my veg setup using the Gas Lantern Routine (GLR) which adds to the energy savings since lights are only on in veg for 13 hours per day, instead of 18-24.

Wonderful to hear. That isn't shiiit!
