SOGgy Daze Ahead For Mr. Krip!

Mr. Krip, looking very frosty! I noticed with mine that they stopped growing for a week when I performed the severe defoliation. They are now just starting to grow pistols and start resin production again, whew! Again, damn they look so nice!:thumb:

QUICK UPDATE

As I sit here trying to figure out when I'm gonna get the flower tent filled, I'm really wishing I put those 18 (short) PE clones I took in rockwool instead of the TK.

I did have to toss one of the Lucy clones, so I now have four Lucy's in the TK, one of which is showing roots now. But, I'm also gonna make one another mom, so that's a maximum of three more clones, assuming all root, to add to the flower tent.

And, tomorrow, I'm 30 days away from harvesting the first seven plants. So, if I don't get another seven clones, minimum, in flower over the next 30 days, the number of plants will be going down instead of up! :thedoubletake:

I could take some more clones now, but once again, it would be a little early on the moms, and they really should grow out some more.

If it sounds like I'm stressing, I'm really not. I'm just anxious to really get into a position where I can maintain a full tent with the three strains I have.

I did take two fresh clones today from the Power Skunk, but her stalks are so thick, I'm not sure how successful they'll be rooting. One of the reasons I didn't mind taking a couple from her was that I expect the new growth will have thinner stalks and be easier to clone even if today's cuttings don't root, but other than that, she really should grow out some more, before taking any significant number of clones.

Also, Lucy has a couple of small tops that really need to be trimmed, just as part of maintaining the bonsai. Normally, I wouldn't even try to clone them, but I'm actually letting them grow out a little before I trim them, then I'm gonna try to clone them in rockwool, since they will be too small for the TK.

Also, the original PE Bonsai, if I absolutely wanted, could easily give me another 6-8clones in rockwool (still a little short for the TK), but she's been growing out great and I don't want to go back to stripping her bare just yet.

So, I'm still trying to be patient, but waiting for these moms to mature is like watching the weeds grow! :)

Sounds like your in the Army.......hurry up and wait! :circle-of-love:

Plants are looking good Mr Krip! Like the power skunk looks great not sure why you didn't enter that in the POTM. :}

Bonsai moms may not be able to keep up with clone production, have you thought about transplanting the mom into bigger container? She'll grow faster which can provide larger cutting within the same amount of time and you don't have to delay the perpetual bloom.

Thanks, Twelve!

You hit the nail right on the head! :bravo:

The bonsais just aren't mature enough yet. They're only about 4" tall, or so, and it's not easy getting any number of large clones from a 4" tall mom! I did transplant the three new Bonsais to 2L's last week to speed up the growth and increase the height.

Soon, I'll have six Bonsai moms (well, pretty soon!) and, once they're mature, I should have no problems taking the clones I need. Just taking more time to get there than I had hoped.

We'll see how the PS looks in 30 days. If she's looking good, maybe I'll enter her in POTM next month.

Sounds like it is time to pop some beans and get strain number 4 rolling.....

Nope...not yet! I'm gonna try to keep these three strains going for a while, until I can get on a steady, predicable schedule that's turning out 18"-24" plants at about 1/2 oz. yield each. I only have a few seeds left, including a couple more PE's and one Kannabia Big Band, so I'm sure you'll a Big Band growing at some point.

PIC UPDATE

Lots of pics, today, so I'll try to keep the comments to a minimum! :)

Here's the three new bonsai moms:

The Power Skunk is looking a little gnarly waiting for all of her recent toppings to really grow back, so it looks like she has two main colas, right now. When the other tops grow out a little more, those two main colas will get topped:

The Pineapple Express bonsai is finally starting to fill out a little, but still a couple of weeks before I'll take any clones from her:

DSCN13941.JPG

And, the Lucy bonsai is really bushing out and has a total of 16 tops right now! I'll have to remove some of them, and am just trying to let them grow out so I can clone them when they get pruned:

Another angle on Lucy:

The 13 girls currently in flower:

These are the first nine, but seven of them were started a couple of weeks before the two in front-left:

Here's one of the PE's now at 41 days of 12/12:

Here's a few shots of the Power Skunk also at 41 days of 12/12. I'm pretty impressed with this strain, so far:

And, finally, there was the one PE clone I was initially gonna toss because it had two colas, and I didn't want to take up the space. But, since I had the problems with those smaller clones, I figured I'd put her in flower, too, a few weeks ago. She's due for her first defoliation tomorrow and hasn't been in any pics, but she's looking pretty cool and with her two colas, will probably yield more than any of the other plants in the SOG currently. So, I figured I feature her in a couple of shots.

Without further ado, here's the "two-headed monster":

Happy Harvests!

I agree with X, that PE looks fantastic! Although, at first I thought it said 14 days of flower, not 41....I was like whaaaaaaaaaa!!!????

The bonsais look REALLY healthy, too, great job there bud!
Question for you (and try not to answer before I even finish this post:rofl:)
Do you defoliate at 21 days from the flip, or 21 days from seeing calyxes starting to stack?/ Same at 45 days?

Awesome! Those PE's in day 41 look.... :yummy:

Sure seems like this 2 liter thang is going to be right in your bailiwick. :thumb:

Thanks, Bro! Personally, I'd rather grow 'em big, but as for my lights and space, I think the SOG is right in THEIR bailiwick! :)

Thanks, Quix! I defoliate at 21 and 45 days of 12/12 (after making the flip).

QUICK CLONE UPDATE

I took another clone from the Power Skunk yesterday, so, as of this morning I had 8 cuttings in the TK including four Power Skunks and four Lucy's.

Here they are with the PS's on the left and Lucy's on the right:

DSCN14141.JPG

They all look pretty good, but so far, only one of the Lucy's is showing roots.

The one Lucy that has roots is fishboning like crazy, and the roots were starting to get pretty wide:

DSCN14151.JPG

So, this clone is going to be the next Lucy mom. I transplanted her to a mini hempy and put her in the "Mother" side of the cabinet.

With any luck, they'll all root and I'll get another PS mom, too, and still have three each of Lucy and PS to add to the SOG.

Happy Harvests!

Nice fish bone :D

Is that cotton wool you are using there?

Thanks, G-Speed! Those are STG (Sure To Grow) "Clippers" which are cloning inserts, just like the neoprene ones that came with the cloner, but these are made out of the STG grow medium.

Those PE are packing some weight! How many days till harvest? Have you had the Power Skunk before? How does it smoke, smell? Looks impressive. I want to add a skunk genetic to the mix, currently have the Super Skunk going still in bloom determine sex.

We should be 27 days to harvest for the first seven plants, so I'm expecting those buds to get a lot bigger by then!

This is my first grow on the Power Skunk, from a freebie seed. I have heard very good things about the strain, though, from others who also got it as a freebie.

It's supposed to have a fairly short flowering time, as little as 7 weeks, but I'm planning on letting it go the full nine weeks, unless I see a lot of amber before then.
