PIC UPDATE
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend! Since it's been a while for a pic update, this one's gonna be a long one, so you may all want to grab a drink, take a toke, and get prepared....
First, on the cloning side, we're still moving slowly and I'm seriously starting to re-think using the TurboKlone. It's a great unit, but I just don't seem to be having the success with it that I've had in straight Rockwool. I haven't abandoned it yet, since I'm still "experimenting" with it, but if I don't see better results, I'll most likely either go back to cloning in Rockwool, or trying to clone right in the hempys.
Right now, I have seven plants in the TK, including four Power Skunk (left) and three Lucy (right):
I had taken five Lucy clones the week before I took the four PS clones. So far, I've had to toss one Lucy and a second Lucy rooted ealier and I'm working on making her into another Bonsai mom. But, after a full two week (plus!), none of the three Lucys left in the TK are showing any roots yet.
Of the four PS clones, the first one just started showing some roots. Actually, if you look close, you'll see the first root is growing right through the STG insert, which tells me it's another cutting that would have had issues in the neoprene:
Here's what's going on in the "Mother" side of the cab:
This is the one Lucy clone that just got removed from the TK and put in a hempy to be a mom soon. She has started her vertical growth:
Here's the original Pineapple Express Bonsai that started me on Bonsai and mothered most of what's in the flower tent currently. I recently moved her to a 2L hempy:
Here's the new Pineapple Express Bonsai with much better structure than the original, but all the new Bonsais need more time to grow out:
Here's the Lucy Bonsai, a little nute burned from a hot dose I mixed last week by mistake when trying to use up the last of my GH grow with AN micro & bloom
:
And, the Power Skunk Bonsai:
In the flower tent, things are moving along nicely and all the plants look healthy & happy. The first seven girls (right) have been in 12/12 for 50 days now, so we'll start flushing in two more weeks and harvest in three. The second six (left) have been in 12/12 for about 30-36 days (they went in staggered) and all have over a month left:
Here's some of the colas being harvested in a few weeks:
And, here's one of the PE's out of the tent for some pics:
As nice as the PE looks, I have to say, the Power Skunks looks even better!
She's just covered in thick trichs, the buds look real dense, I really can't wait to try her!
Here's the PS:
Here's her upper buds:
And, check out these lower buds and then tell me if you think defoliation helps!
While I was dragging plants out of the flower tent for photos, I had to get a couple shots of the one Lucy that's in flower now. She's only been in 12/12 for 33 days, so won't be harvested until January 3rd (she'll be my first plant harvested in 2012!). She's got a nice lemony/grapefruit smell right now, and her trichs are just starting to really come in:
So, other than still needing to pick up the pace on the cloning, everything is looking real good, and, as I've been told by OMM, XLR8, and a few others, I think this SOG style of growing will end up being my calling.
The elimination of veg really cuts electric costs and speeds up the time to harvest, and I can already see, even with my "too short" clones I started with, I'll still have a better yield in the same space than I would have had with "full-size" plants, and most of it will be from "main cola" buds.
Happy Harvests!
