Smokerjoes 2nd Journal

I feel you on the football smoking. I was hoping to harvest close to the start of the season but it won't happen. I will before playoffs though. Wish we lived close enough, I'd hook ya up til your harvest. But we'll both be watching the first half of season sober. Well, kinda sober. One of those times I wish i had bought autos

Using nametags this time around. I found some in bulk for 5.00

1 bucket contains 4 phulbani seeds
1 bucket contains 4 Northern lights(probably) bagseed (2nd generation)

using just the led until the germinate. You can germinate with hps but the light needs to be a lot higher(about 3 feet) I just choose not to mess with it. If there is any that dont pop then im just gonna germinate under the tried and true cfl. Well thats it for today. Any questions or recommendations until then is encouraged.Any strains you like or would like to see me grow also list those. Take it easy and stay green.

i just use seedling soil put them in the keurig k-cups and put them on a heating pad and they pop in under 72hrs sometime under 48 hrs. works every time never had one not sprout on me i even use it for my chili seeds they usually take a month to sprout but i get them to pop around 10-14 days. you should try it you'll never use anything else.

Who sells those seeds? I never heard of them. Im looking online and its not giving me anything useful.

Sounds great. I really would love to own a keurig coffee machine and I have to buy the heating mat but I certainly love this method and will give this a try as soon as I can.

Just be careful with the heating mat. I got one from the hydro store, followed directions, and it cooked 3 out of 4 seedlings and all 6 rooted clones in just one day. Maybe it's defective? In the future, with any mat, I will start with a folded towel between.

Thank for sharing your experience slowgro I will keep that in mind

Hi slowgro. Agree that those mats can get pretty hot. Have you considered the thermostat that you plug the mat into? Not too expensive.

Woke up this morning and 2 of the 4 northern lights bagseeds have sprouted. Nothing yet on the phulbani. They didnt sprout at all the last grow either. It is still to early to say one way or the other but they are starting to upset me.. Temps are steadily between 75-80. Will take pics once they get bigger.

3rd northen lights just sprouted. Cant see anything in the other bucket yet.

trichomes just had some success germing 2 seeds on top of his VCR in under 72 hrs hahaha. I like the idea, I might just try germinating some seeds using paper towels in a baggy on top of my DVR (yeah I'm not as old as trichs hahah :))

Looking good Joe! Do you know if mylar space blankets also have that thermal image-blocking effect, (probably to a lesser degree,) or is the way they make those rolls nice and thick more to do with it than the mylar material? I mean the space blanket wouldn't work if it wasn't good at containing heat right.
I spent all my money on a big mars 2 1600 LED, so I had to go a bit ghetto on the rest of my grow supplies... it was only 15$ on cramazon to get 20 space blankets that could cover approximately 630 sq ft. I'm not too worried about police, but for those of us without the money to drop 100$ on a fancy roll of mylar, it'd be good to know that the space blankets could also help keep unwanted eyes from prying in your business.

I dont know for certain if the blankets would work. Theoretically I suppose it would work if they are reflective but as far as being anti flir I wouldnt think so. It will work to keep prying eyes away though. This roll is millitary grade mylar thats why it is expensive. Yeah I see how he germed his seeds. Theres a plethora of ways. Eventually I will try most but I prefer to sow the seed and do it the natural way. I scarify my seeds first. To do this take a bottle(I use a pill bottle) and put a dime or a piece of sand paper in the bottle with the seeds. Then shake it for 15-30 seconds. This causes nicks in the seeds and so water can penetrate easier. Good price on those blankets though thats very cheap.

Just got back from a walk with my daughter and checked in on the plants. The 4th one is sprouted of the northern lights. already see those tiny little bugs that dont fly but are in the soil. Im guessing they just live in the soil and some bags of soil have them. I dont know if they hurt the plant but they piss me off. There is no other explanation for a bug attack already. Once they are older and in their own buckets I will put in some predatory nematodes to kill them off.

Can you upload some pictures of bugs?Congratulation on 4 NL can't wait to see pictures:bravo:
