Hello everyone, I would like to show you the roots with my five girls that I cut were 13 weeks in vegetables and 10 weeks in flower.

At a closer look, I’ve found more sacks. Looks like I’m going to have to pull her out. I’ll see if I can find a spot outside to let her finish
Sorry for the hermie, @Blumentalist , but I'd reconsider putting it outside. Pollen is so light it can travel for miles on the wind so, in addition to seeding your plants, you'll be risking anyone else's plants that grow anywhere near you, especially downwind.

And the seeds that are produced will carry the hermie trait so you probably won't even want to grow them out. :(

Thanks Azimuth, I didn’t think of that. I still have 7 plants left to take care of 🤪. Its just that it was growing so nice

Hi AziI Will be putting my banana jealousy outside next week-end. We got poured on so it has to wait.
I Had a male from the 3 cafe racers I grew And put the clone of the male outside cause I wanted it small, on the opposite side of the house. I need to collect the pollen so I can freeze it and try the collodial silver. I didn't have room for it inside due too all my lights being used up.

I can dig it up and bring it inside to my veg closet since my bananas are leaving.

Would like to know how to collect it and when do you know that they are ready?

Thanks Azi or anyone else.

Cheers!

I'm not sure what you mean by this?
I wondered the same thing. Also, pollen travels miles so unless the wind is always coming from the same direction I'd be concerned about pollinating the other side of the house.
@StoneOtter @Justin Goody and of course @InTheShed all have experience with that
Justin chucks way more pollen than I do, but I did do a post about it earlier this year. It's lower down in this one here:

In terms of when it's ready, it's best collected when you see the sacs open.

@Stunger has also dealt with male he saved pollen from so he's another good source.

I never save pollen. I have tried 3 different times and even the tiniest bit of moisture kills that stuff 💀 and it’s just not something I have time for lol.
When I need pollen I reverse the plant, wait for the first couple FULLY formed and opened sacs to drop powder. Then I use that branch or 2 branches to pollinate everyone downstairs at once. I may do it a second day but usually there is no need. Then I take the upstairs plant and feed it to the chickens before the other sacs open UNLESS I’m making S1’s. In that case I cut off all but what I need, 4-branches that have the most pistils stay and I let them mingle with sacs on their own til the hairs have all turned red. Then pull the branches with the most pollen and toss them, wash the rest of the plant down with water to wash away all the remaining dust.
Too dangerous to have around in that state so it’s one time use, then off to a faraway land.

Last male I grew I put him in a shed with a light. That contained his pollen enough for the yard to stay free of seed. So when the male starts to open its sacs and pollen is dropping I take a small 4 inch mirror and tap the colas over it then razor blade it into a jar. When done, over a week or two, I let it dry in a low moisture room for a few days, then put a pack of SILICA GEL in and into the freezer.
