Both Botanicare and MegaCrop are considered salt-based fertilizers (not that there's anything wrong with that!). Matter of fact almost every NPK nute line you can buy not labeled "organic" is salt-based. Botanicare doesn't list all their sources (none for N at all), but other than their organic line they list their potassium as K2O which is potassium oxide (salt), their Si is potassium silcate (salt). MC is salt-based with calcium nitrate, magnesium nitrate, magnesium sulfate, monopotassium phosphate, potassium nitrate, and potassium silcate. They even use EDTA chelates for copper, manganese, and zinc (for those who thought it was all amino acid chelates).
Thanks Shed. I know he said MC, but my brain read GeoFlora. 🙄

I know a lot of growers like the ease of MC, with maybe one small adjustment, though I've never used it myself.

Really? That must be new. The bag lists all of those as amino acid chelates.

That impression is strain dependant, outdoors or indoor.....

No outdoor grows come to mind immediately but I've seen some quite respectable outdoor grows here !

My first indoor grow with auto's in SIP's > California Snow 6.25 oz, Six Shooter 13.86 oz and Gorilla Punch 10.46 oz...

Indoor photo's with SIP's and a short veg of 7 weeks I've seen a small increase over fabric bags.

I grew two Black African Magic plants, both Were small plants with yields of 5 and 5 1/2 oz.

But, my Malawi x Panama yielded 7.3 oz.

And my Cafe Racer was 12 oz.

Powdered Mega Crop one part and Promix HP. I've had similar results with powdered GH Maxi series...

Plus 8 oz. per plant is Very Doable ;)

Cheers
Thanks. What are some of the estimated plant heights at harvest for your above examples?

I'm so used to growing tall plants in large pots (outdoors)... I need to change my brain to realize the target is a much smaller plant now, in a 5 gal SIP, so part of that is flipping a lot sooner. I have been flipping late for years... sort of just a bad habit.

It remains to be seen if I can pull this off with hybrid coir/LOS and outdoors. Otherwise, I may be headed back to 10 gal DIY fabric pots.

I just calculated this, which is very important for outdoor SIP grows here...

Our best time of year for overhead sun is Apr 1 through Sep 15, when the max sun angle (solar noon) is at least 70°. Above 80° is May 1 through Aug. 15. There are bookends of 90° at May 26 and Jul 15, between which the angle is nearly 90°. So, May, June, July, August are ideal, with April and September also good.

Anywhere from three feet to super cropped at five feet !

The goal with my current grow was under four feet, just barely did that with my one over achiever..

I do not grow for max yield, hence the shortish veg period, training and lollipopping.....
