Like this !?! LOL

Yo fellow SIPers, thought I'd add the (almost final) results of my latest plant, Wedding Cake seed #2. The shots below are 2 weeks apart except the very last pic in flowering is only 1 week. This plant smells great and should produce anywhere from 5-8 ounces, which is pretty good I think for a 2'x2' plant. On my latest plants, I've changed my quad-lining technique a bit from this one, leaving all the leaves in place to control the inner branching right up until the 12/12 flip. Then I do defoliation and tucking of leaves in order to let the inner branches finally get light and grow upward. The idea is to let the 4 main branches grow outward more, so they are not competing with the inner branches. Anyway that's my technique currently, trying to get bigger yields out of a small space!

Nice work, great looking buds👍👍

Nice plant -- nice presentation, CM420! :Rasta:

I think this Medicalseeds Channel+ SIP Quadline is gonna be a monster!
Can't wait to flower.
Need to get more mag to her though.

Dam! Thats a size 13 stem.

First time quading, I'm unsure how to stop though?
As I had two buds sideways, then one up and down, removed the bottom one, and I thought well If I have the ends grow up now I'm at 16 which will do, but now the next stage is two buds sideways again which are already starting to grow upwards again which would make it 24 buds.. so how do I stop it now from firing off buds?
The next one will be up and down again, I could cut them both away and then make sure the end tip bends upwards. I want a clean end top not one that bananas upwards.

so how do I stop it now from firing off buds?

Haha, you can't. All you can do is control them a bit. Either you pick them, train them, or do less defoliation and keep them out of the light so they don't grow much.

I am currently testing out leaving all the leaves on to control the inner branching on my plants, so far it's been my best method for quad-lining and controlling the inner branching. Here is a shot of my latest quad-lining attempt. (I am still learning)

Yes it looks ugly now, I will defoliate right at the 12/12 flip.

I don't mind the look of that, bushy!
but I thought getting lots of inner buds and building them out was the way to go for quadlining.
I'm gonna leave the ones forming now, then cut away the next ones going up and down completely and force the ends upwards.
I fear I will run out of space pretty quickly with this one, outside these beans easily turn into a 10 foot plant left alone. It's a 50/50 hybrid.

I think you are right, but this particular plant has really short internode spacing and the inner branches would dominate otherwise. Its kind of a balance it seems how much you train the outer branches vs how wide you want to grow the plant, because the inner branches will take over after a while.

I’m a noob so, this is a question, not advice but, can’t you top the growth at the ends of the 4 branches once they get as wide as you want?
I’d think that would cause the growth from then on to be spread evenly across the middle.
