Hiya, got a picture or two? Also what’s the medium you’re in? Ph’ing to 6.5?
Oops good point, I'm in soil. I vary around 6.5 between 6.4 and 6.6. here's a couple pics, she's a little self conscious right now so go easy on her. 🙈

Huh. Looks like P and/or K def. Def maybe.

This is great - links to Azi who quotes Res who has a link.

I could give her a big dose of bloom, top dress with some potash and water it in, buy some other liquid K to fertigate with. Any of those sound more effective?
Go with the bloom full dose? Leave the cal mag in. That’s probably what I’d do (you’ve tried backing off and it got it worse) but listen to wiser souls than me first!

I started a SIP and hoping i got it good enough to work / i will show the bucket i fixed and you can judge BUT there is already a plant in it for 3-4 days it a AUTO when i get the pic of it i will post >>

Nice job Smokes. One recommendation, for your next cycle, if I may, is for you to break out a 7/32" - 5mm drill bit and go ''Dirty Harry'' on the top (formerly the bottom) of the inner container and its sides. My approach is that so long as there's still more plastic than holes, you haven't gone too far.

If Dirty Harry isn't your thing, consider "Rambo", hell, be Debby Harry if that feels right - just drill lotsa holes. lol.

If you're nervous about soil making its way through you can cover with a synthetic fabric that isn't waterproof. ('Natural fibers' rot stunningly fast under there and will not last) However, the hole size I recommended has to date kept out all of my peat/perlite, store-bought potting soil, and my home-cooked garden soils just fine. Just remember that top-watering can potentially push down pretty hard so avoid deluge-style top watering.

Every top-watering also compacts soil a little more each time... restricting atmospheric gasses and requiring the plant to expend more energy pushing its roots through

I have the same bucket with the same damaged rim. Or, at least I did. Hmmmmm... lol.

Two girls started training this evening !

I have wanted to watch a live Chuckeye training/grow since seeing your garden for the first time, mebbe, 18-20 mos ago? I used to shoot jewellery for various designers for their marketing materials and your garden setup bears a remarkable similarity to my photo setup, complete with the glistening stars of the show. It's an association I will always recall and enjoy looking at your pics. Now with a SIP in the mix, it just further juices the anticipation. What we growin'? (I'll go look)

We SIP-fertigated, CSPM growers gotta stick together. lol.

Highya SIPers,

In response to goowa's concern about adding potassium - I add whatever I need to (organic fertilizer) to topsoil, and water it in a little. Only well water in the resevoir. I grow outdoors with no umbrella. It rains and fills the resevoir. I have lettuce and beets in with the canna ladies (3), and have put all additives on top soil. The canna ladies are doing well, no issues. Size is dependant on the size of the rootball in the planter. This setup works very well for me. Happy Smokin'

Thanks @Bode if I don't see improvement here in the next week I'm going to do a top dress like your suggesting. Appreciate ya!

Yeah @goowa, I concur, it looks to me like potassium needed, but I’ve yet to actually deal with this deficit in person with my stuff, or other growers I’ve worked for, or with. This plant’s organic, yes? And on the homestretch? Bode knows, and goes with the flow, I’d go with Bode! I’d do it asap but you’ll know better what’s what in your castle. Bon chance mon amis.

I had every intention of doing this one organic but broke down quickly and got liquid nutrients from fox farm. I gave her the big dose of bloom about an hour ago so we'll see what happens. Thanks for the well wishings! 🤞

Gasp! Are you makin vape juice?
Mwah-ha-ha! Er, srry, ahem… “yes”. Fer some reason my voice changes when I’m in my little laboratory.

Dunno how much bud to use for a litre/quart w/ this method, but it’s easier to thin it out than make stronger at the end so I’ll probably go with “lots”.

Comments, critiques, all welcome!

Thanks for your comment @ReservoirDog !

Hopefully I can get the kinks worked out with this auto grow :yummy:

Then back to the 10 - 12 weeks long flowering Sativa's :yahoo:

Cheers

This ^.
SIPs don't need Less nutrients than a top watered plant, they need More! They grow fast and drink water like a hydro baby, give them all the juices they can handle. Especially cal/mag.
Good job getting the Ph in check, I've had issues myself from putting acidic juice in the reservoir.
Feed em full strength thru the reservoir, give em a foliar of cal/mag, and they'll bounce back in a few days.

Check my clones in a SIP with the same issue popping up, hit em with the foliar and upped the food ratio - no mo rust spots, 6 days later.

@RedskinnedRhino I finally did it! I have been quietly working on a THC vape juice method to end all vape juice methods (so to speak) for a loooong time.

This was filtered just once and has been sitting 24hrs cooling. No separation and not a spec of plant material settling on the bottom.

It is pure polypropylene glycol (PG), one of the two primary ingredients in your classic store bought nicotine or cbd vape juice. The key has been temps and times as using this ingredient as the sole solvent with which to extract the cannabinoids is hit and miss.

Best part is, this, roughly 50ml, is a concentrate suitable as a 10-20% solution, and was made with only 8 grams of dried Runts bud! So the final result is minimum 250ml vape sauce coaxed from just 8 grams of grade A buds.

After creating the concentrate I add a mix of ‘base’ - which is more pure PG mixed with pure Vegetable Glycerin (VG) - the mix rate of the base can be personalized for actual consumption. So only two products are used, PG and VG (plus decarb’d buds) for the whole thing. My issue was finding the way to get the PG to extract this efficiently.

I will write up a tek, because anyone can do this and special equip is not needed. The key is using pure PG to extract and doing it at 90 deg c (190-200 deg F) in under 1 hour. I believe I’ve got a 90+% extraction here.

My decarb was a standard 250f for 40 min., and I made sure not to grind the material but instead just cut it up a little, trying to not create more teeny bits of plant matter than necc.

A slow cooker with temp control or a slow cooker and a thermostat will get it done. A double boiler also. Just keep the temp at 190-200f and only extract for 30-60minutes. I strain with tea strainer and paper towel, just let it strain, no squeezing, nothing just walk away to let strain.

It appears to me quite clear that it is not going to gum up any tank or vape cartridge, or dripper because of the high percentage cannabinoids extracted using propylene glycol alone. The high concentrate value means it vapes like a typical high quality nic vape, that and (omigawd) only 8 grams for enough, all day, everyday, chronic to vape for weeks and weeks, or more!?! Whoo-boy.

People, your lungs will thank you! No more burning or carcinogens, and it is very, very covert. This stuff is on point… finally!
