That may have been me, Blazin - I posted some stuff on hormones recently. Only growing leaves produce hormones, and they're mostly produced by the growing tips. Those auxins encourage root growth as well as discourage lower leaf growth. Cutting fans has little effect on root growth in cloning, and it reduces transpiration through the leaves, giving the plant more time to root before it dies off.

Auzins come mostly from the new tip growth.

And that's the scientific truth! Cutting fan leaves in half means the plant has less green material to keep alive without roots. As long as the growing tip (apical meristem) is intact, all the auxins will be present, including and especially the rooting hormones. Add a dip of rooting hormone (clonex, etc.) and now you're taking cuttings the proper way.

I cut mine down pretty far....and they grow one or two sets of new leaves while in the cloner! It's very, very easy!

I water lights on or off.....whenever I have the time and they need it. Same with sprays.

Really, I was under the impression it should be done with in an hour or two of lights on. I was giving my buddy crap cause 3 hours after lights on he still had not fed the ladies there tea.

I often spray at say.....2:30 PM. The lights come on at 4:30 or 5:30 depending on Daylight Savings. Ideally, you spray 3 minutes before lights come on....but there is still plenty of benefit spraying anytime.

I try to spray lights on whenever I can, but it's not always possible.

As for watering, it doesn't matter when you do that. It rains day and night....

Yea I heard about watering being best shortly after lights on but iv never really followed that. Mathilda gets watered whatever time of day I have a spare 5 mins as have all my plants in past.
I'd of thought it benificial to water well into lights on to cool the root mass down

Thanks alex. I am pretty happy with the progress so far. I am more concerned with the quality but it is always nice to beat a personal best weight as well. In a few weeks we will know.

Shotta, I got a stupid question. Do you flip to 12/12 at a certain height, or do you go by the node spacing of your plants? I have some giants going, node spacing at the tops is tight, but only a couple of inches. I want to have 10" arms, but if I wait to much longer there going to be 7' tall plants, lol.

By the way your plants are crazy beautiful. You truthfully are a master grower.
